Shohoku High School, Kanagawa Prefecture

The sky was as clear as a sheet of blue paper, with thin white clouds drifting lazily, as if the sun had melted them into the breeze.

In the school infirmary.

A boy in a Shohoku school uniform lay on one of the beds, rubbing his forehead as he slowly opened his eyes.

The first thing that came into view was the snow-white curtain hanging beside him.

"Huh? This… where am I?"

He struggled to sit up, his voice hoarse and uncertain.

With effort, he pulled the curtain aside and looked out the window.

What he saw made his face freeze in shock.

The large characters of "Kanagawa Prefecture, Shohoku High School" filled his vision.

In an instant, the exhaustion weighing on his body vanished.

'No way… Don't tell me I've actually come to the world of Slam Dunk?'

His name was Tatsuhiko Shouya.

That's right—he was a transmigrator.

Before crossing over, he had been watching the Slam Dunk anime at home, blood boiling with excitement. Then, a sudden accident occurred—the screen flashed with blinding light, and before he knew it, he was dragged straight into the world of Slam Dunk.

At the moment, Shouya didn't have time to stay stunned.

Memories surged through his mind like a revolving lantern.

Tatsuhiko Shouya. A transfer student at Shohoku High. Height: 180 cm. Weight: 68 kg. A complete beginner in basketball… currently settled in Japan.

He reached up and pinched his own cheek hard.

'Hiss! That hurts!'

The pain made one thing clear: this wasn't a dream. He had really crossed over.

'It looks like this is real. I've really come into the world of Slam Dunk.'

After calming his racing heart—

Creak.

The infirmary door opened.

"Feeling any better, young man?"

A middle-aged man in a white coat, a doctor's ID hanging from his chest, walked in with a gentle smile.

Shouya blinked in surprise.

"Ah—yes. Thank you, sensei. I'm fine now," he answered politely.

In his memories, today was supposed to be the first day of basketball team registration. He had suddenly fainted, probably because of the transmigration.

The school doctor checked him over, placing a hand on his forehead before smiling again.

"You're fine now. You're with the basketball team, right? Do your best this year!"

As it turned out, when Shouya had collapsed earlier, Akagi and the others had carried him here. After confirming it wasn't serious, they went back to training. Naturally, the doctor assumed he was one of the team.

Shouya's eyes lit up. So it was Akagi and the others…

Interesting.

He had long wanted to meet the so-called captain "Gorilla", as well as Sakuragi Hanamichi, Rukawa Kaede, Ayako, Haruko…

After thanking the school doctor, he left the infirmary and made his way toward the gym.

But just as he stepped out—

[Ding!]

A cold, mechanical voice rang in his head.

[Host has awakened.]

[System activation in progress.]

[System binding complete.]

'…What? A system?'

Shouya froze in disbelief.

'Don't tell me… this is the legendary perk of transmigrators?'

After all, everyone knew transmigrators often came with systems. His anticipation surged—just what kind of system would it be?

[Congratulations, Host.]

[You have awakened the God-Tier Basketball Training System.]

"…God-Tier Basketball Training System?" Shouya muttered, startled.

What kind of thing was that supposed to be?

[The system will assign training missions. As long as the host completes them on time, rewards will be granted.]

As if reading his thoughts, the system continued its explanation.

'Oh? Missions, huh?'

Just as Shouya was still puzzling it over—

[Ding!]

[Mission: Meet all members of the basketball team.]

[Reward: One Beginner's Gift Pack.]

'…What the—so sudden?'

Well, the task itself didn't seem too difficult. The real curiosity was in that Beginner's Gift Pack.

'Forget it. I'll head to the gym first and finish the mission. Then I'll see what this gift pack is about.'

If he wanted to meet the basketball team, the gym was the obvious place.

Stretching his arms, Shouya set off toward Shohoku's basketball gym, guided by the memories in his mind.
