Well, this was a ride.
I want to thank everyone who read all the way through this behemoth of a story. For those of you who always supported its creation, and even those who doubted its direction at times, thank you for all the helpful comments and messages.
Looking back on this story, I'm proud I got through it all, although I also see a lot of places for improvement. I admit that there are some poorly-written sections, and I definitely handled some scenes improperly. I was also a bit callous with creating subplots that never got fully or properly resolved. But overall, I think I've grown a lot as a writer, and I'm happy with the final product.
A part of me wants to go back and rewrite the parts I don't like, but at the same time, I want to leave the story as is, imperfections and all, and I think I'll choose the latter.
When it comes to the ending (which, if it didn't quite make sense, reread the start of chapter 2), I debated between making the epilogue I had in mind or just leaving it up in the air, but after everything I've put you through (lol), I decided to give everyone the happy ending I planned for.
Although this story is done, I'll keep writing, though I'm unsure what I'll be working on. Maybe some short stories and one-shots, or maybe another big alt-universe story, or maybe my Comfy Cartel story. Leave your suggestions below - I'll read all of them.
