Chapter 9 - First Apex

The yard had gone quiet.Even the loudest gangs kept their distance. Rumors had spread—red-eyed, soulless kid, a predator who didn't feel pain, didn't fear, didn't forgive.

But tonight… the true test arrived.

A man stepped forward from the shadows of the yard. Broad shoulders, scarred face, fists that looked like iron. The inmates whispered his name: "Kang Ji-Hoon"—a legend in the prison, unbeaten in one-on-one fights for three years.

"You're the one they call the beast?" he growled. "I'll see if that's true."

Seok-Hyun didn't respond.He didn't flinch.He didn't even blink.

His eyes glowed dark red. Soul buried deep. Rage coiled and cold.

The first clash was thunderous.Ji-Hoon swung like a wrecking ball, fists smashing the air. Seok-Hyun dodged, weaving like a predator stalking prey, letting every strike slide by inches from his body.

When he countered, it wasn't graceful—it was brutal, raw, and unstoppable.A slam into the concrete, a spinning elbow, a knee to the ribs. Every move was instinct, pure animal force, like a dinosaur tearing into prey.

The yard erupted into chaos. Shouts, screams, clanging metal—but Seok-Hyun didn't hear them. The world had narrowed to him, his rage, and his prey.

Ji-Hoon roared, swinging wildly. Pain exploded across Seok-Hyun's torso, but he didn't flinch. Every bruise, every scar from his past, fueled his counterattack. He twisted, grabbed, slammed—his fists like hammers, elbows like wrecking balls.

For minutes, the two clashed. It was brutal, merciless, and terrifying.

Finally, Ji-Hoon staggered, blood dripping from his nose.Seok-Hyun's red eyes stared him down. No mercy. No hesitation. Only the cold calculation of a predator who had nothing left to lose.

The yard fell silent.Even the guards watched in disbelief.

Seok-Hyun didn't speak. He didn't raise his fists again. He turned and walked back to the shadows of the cell block, leaving the broken legend behind.

"No friends. No mercy. No weakness.""This is how I rise. This is how I survive."

The whispers grew into fear:"The beast… he's real. And he's only beginning."
