Chapter 15 - 15. Ho-Oh's Drop

Actually, it was still the same principle: even though Ash could see Ho-Oh's name with his Insight Eye, he couldn't understand what Ho-Oh actually represented, just like with the Static ability.

So Ash really wanted to ask Misty what kind of existence Ho-Oh was. Was she a Legendary Pokemon? Why was Misty so excited to see Ho-Oh?

At the same time, Ash also deeply understood the saying, 'Ignorance is truly terrifying.' It seemed he really needed to catch up on Pokemon knowledge through the group chat.

It was embarrassing - he hadn't even memorized the type effectiveness chart yet... In the end, Ash still didn't ask Misty what kind of existence Ho-Oh was, because then the name 'Ho-Oh' coming from his mouth wouldn't have any reasonable explanation.

The various experienced trainers in the group had warned that the existence of the chat group should never be exposed. There were many people with bad intentions in the world, and even if he only told those he was close to and trusted, it would inevitably lead to the chat group being discovered.

It was best if only he knew about it.

So, even the usually carefree Ash strictly followed the rules he had set for himself, absolutely refusing to expose the existence of the chat group.

As for Ho-Oh, he would ask the experienced trainers in the chat group later. For now, he would quietly experience the awe brought by this Legendary Pokemon's incredible aura and majesty.

"Pikachu, you have to become as strong as her in the future!"

"Pika pi?" Me? Pikachu pointed at himself, looking at Ash with a 'you're not serious, are you?' expression.

He didn't know what Ho-Oh was either, but that didn't stop him from feeling an extremely terrifying sense of overwhelming power from Ho-Oh. To make him grow to Ho-Oh's level - forget about how many years it would take, whether he even had that kind of potential was questionable.

"You can do it, because you are my partner." This time, Ash wasn't joking around. Instead, he looked directly at Pikachu and spoke with unwavering determination, his words filled with complete trust in Pikachu.

"Pika... Pika pi!" I... I'll do it! They had only been together for less than a day, but his trainer had such tremendous expectations and faith in him, which ignited Pikachu's own ambition.

He thumped his small chest proudly, declaring that one day in the future, he would definitely become a super Electric Mouse that commanded lightning, comparable to Ho-Oh herself!

Misty, standing nearby, looked at the expressions of the boy and the Electric Mouse with a peculiar look, her face showing an expression of wanting to speak but holding back.

She didn't really want to discourage Ash and Pikachu, but these two were being a bit too unrealistic. Making Pikachu as strong as Ho-Oh? How was that any different from hoping a Spearow could one day evolve into Ho-Oh?

But looking at the ambitious beginners, Misty ultimately didn't open her mouth to crush their dreams. If someone had no dreams, what was the difference from being completely lifeless - even if this particular dream wasn't very practical.

"Misty, look at that!" Misty, who was lost in thought, was startled by Ash's sudden voice. Immediately after, she followed Ash's pointing direction and saw that Ho-Oh's magnificent figure had gradually disappeared, but in the sky, there seemed to be a rainbow actually falling downward!

"Come on, let's go quickly and see what it is! You can ride the bike!" As Ash's words finished, he called to Pikachu and rushed forward at full speed.

"Hey, hey! Wait for me!" Misty called out from behind. She had just gotten on her bike and looked up, only to see the rapidly disappearing figures of Ash and Pikachu.

Good grief, what kind of speed was that? It was way too fast! She didn't even ride her bike that quickly!

Ash arrived at the place where the rainbow had fallen with incredible speed. This location was about a kilometer from where they had just been resting, but Ash had run there in less than a minute, which set a new personal record for his fastest speed ever.

Pikachu was clinging to Ash's shoulder, gripping Ash's clothes tightly, looking completely windblown and disheveled.

At this moment, Pikachu was thinking - if you had this kind of speed when we were running away earlier, you would have easily outrun those Spearow, right? So you were deliberately slowing down before just to fight the Spearow, weren't you?

"Is this... a feather?" Ash arrived directly beneath where the rainbow had fallen. At this moment, the rainbow light had just touched the ground. As the rainbow light made contact, the surrounding small grass grew rapidly as if it had been given growth hormones, shooting up more than ten centimeters taller in the blink of an eye.

Surrounded by the rainbow light was a brilliant, shimmering feather. The shape of this feather was very similar to Ho-Oh's feathers, but its coloring was different from any feather on Ho-Oh's body.

Ash picked up the feather and held it in front of his eyes, examining it carefully. At first, the feather emitted beautiful multicolored rainbow light, but as Ash picked it up, the light on the feather slowly began to fade, revealing the feather's true appearance.

"A Rainbow Wing? A multicolored feather?" Ash stared in amazement at the information that appeared before him.

His Insight Eye was still working perfectly. The true name of this feather appeared clearly before Ash. It seemed that anything related to Pokemon could be analyzed by the Insight Eye, though its effects weren't completely comprehensive.

Besides knowing that the feather was called a Rainbow Wing, Ash knew nothing else about it.

Judging from the name alone, this had to be a feather dropped by Ho-Oh. Even a single feather shed by a Legendary Pokemon seemed completely different from anything from ordinary Pokemon.

"Screech, screech, screech!" The sound of rapid pedaling came from behind Ash. A moment later, emergency brakes squealed, and Misty skidded to a stop behind Ash with a dramatic flourish. Her face was covered in sweat, her mouth wide open as she panted continuously.

"Huff... you ran... huff... way too fast! I couldn't even catch up to you on a bicycle!" It took Misty quite a while to get through a single sentence.

Before Misty could continue complaining, Ash placed the Rainbow Wing directly in front of her eyes. Misty, who was still about to say something, was instantly mesmerized by the Rainbow Wing.

"Is this... Ho-Oh's feather? It's absolutely beautiful!" Misty took the Rainbow Wing from Ash's hand and held it up in front of her, admiring it with wonder.

But as soon as Misty took hold of the Rainbow Wing, the feather, which had originally been filled with gorgeous colors, suddenly became completely dull and gray. Misty was stunned, and then a panicked expression appeared on her face.

"Wh-what's happening, Ash? Why did this feather turn gray? I didn't do anything to it!"

Ash also scratched his head in confusion, somewhat puzzled, saying, "I don't know either. It was perfectly fine just a moment ago. Could it be that because it's separated from Ho-Oh, it's becoming like this? Maybe the reason it was colorful at first was because it hadn't been very long since it left Ho-Oh."

"That can't be right... Ash, you hold it and see what happens." Misty handed the feather back to Ash. The moment Ash took the Rainbow Wing in his hand, the originally gray feather was instantly surrounded by vibrant color again.

There was even a faint multicolored light radiating from the Rainbow Wing. The shimmering light made Pikachu, perched on Ash's shoulder, feel a comfortable and deeply relaxed sensation.

"What in the world?" Misty and Ash looked at the re-glowing Rainbow Wing, completely speechless for a moment. This feather was actually choosy about who could hold it?
