As soon as she saw Ning Fengzhi, Ning Rongrong rushed over with excitement. Like a delicate butterfly, she threw herself into his arms and pouted with a look of grievance. She looked up and asked her father why he was only just arriving. She told him that she had been very scared a moment ago.
Ning Fengzhi gently stroked his daughter's hair. The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda rotated slowly in his palm as he tried to comfort her. He explained that he had been busy protecting the Crown Prince to ensure his safety. He told her that he knew she would be fine because the Poison Douluo was there to protect her.
Ning Rongrong was not satisfied with his answer. She pouted and poked her father's shoulder with her slender fingers. She complained that it seemed like the Crown Prince was more important to him than his own daughter. She reminded him that the bad guys had almost hurt her.
Ning Fengzhi smiled at her and tapped her nose with his fingertip. He told her she was a silly girl and that he cared for her very much. He explained that as a Sect Master, he had responsibilities that he had to follow.
He told her that he came to find her as soon as he finished helping the Crown Prince. While he spoke, he took a clear jade pendant from his storage tool and tied it around her waist. He told her it was a protective amulet from her mother and that it would keep her safe.
Earlier, when Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo first appeared, Sword Douluo Chen Xin wanted to help Tianxing Academy. After all, his precious granddaughter was with them. However, Ning Fengzhi had rejected the idea.
He wanted to watch the situation for a little longer. Spirit Hall was very strong, and he did not want to bring trouble to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School by acting too quickly. He believed that for his sect to help, the people they were helping had to show they were worth the risk.
At the same time, Dugu Bo walked toward Tang Chen. He looked at the young man carefully to see if he was hurt. Even though there had been a hard battle, Tang Chen looked fine. Dugu Bo felt relieved and asked the kid if he was alright. Tang Chen shook his head and said he was more than fine because he had gained a lot. He looked at Dugu Bo and gave him a meaningful smile.
As the people from Spirit Hall left, the massive figure of the Red King disappeared with them. Ning Fengzhi followed Dugu Bo and looked at Tang Chen with a complicated expression. He asked Tang Chen about his luck.
He said he did not expect someone so young to get a Hundred Thousand Year Spirit Ring. He also mentioned that he was surprised that a Hundred Thousand Year Spirit Beast had been hiding inside Shrek Academy. He asked Tang Chen why the beast would choose to sacrifice herself for him.
Tang Chen thought for a moment before answering. He said that she probably did not want to sacrifice herself for him, but for Tang San instead. Ning Fengzhi was shocked and gripped his Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda tightly.
He asked if the beast had sacrificed herself to the wrong person. Tang Chen remained very calm and said it was a simple matter. He explained that his Simulation ability had messed with her judgment and caused the mistake.
This short explanation shocked the two powerful masters. They could hardly believe that someone could trick a Hundred Thousand Year Spirit Beast into a sacrifice. Ning Fengzhi tried to stay calm and looked at the claw marks left by the Red King on the cliff. He asked about the other Spirit Beast that had appeared to help them.
Tang Chen waved his hand and turned around. His clothes moved in the wind as the sun began to set. He looked back at the Sect Master and told him that some things were better left unknown. He said it would be safer for Ning Fengzhi that way. After saying that, he walked toward the carriage of Tianxing Academy.
Dugu Bo thanked Ning Fengzhi for his help. He looked at the Sect Master once and then followed behind Tang Chen. Sword Douluo Chen Xin stood there silently until they were gone. He called out to Ning Fengzhi, but the Sect Master just watched them leave. Ning Fengzhi whispered that a storm was coming to the continent.
Not far away, the battlefield was red from the setting sun. Liu Erlong was kneeling on the ground. Her hair was messy and wet with tears. she held her arms tightly against her chest as if she was holding something very special. It was a small, white rabbit with soft fur that had a pink glow.
Yu Xiaogang and Flender rushed over to her. They were confused by what they saw. Yu Xiaogang stepped forward and asked her what happened. He was worried because he had never seen her look so broken before. Even when she lost her family years ago, she had been strong.
Liu Erlong looked up at Yu Xiaogang and Flender. When she saw them, she started to cry even harder. She tried to speak, but she could only sob. Flender fixed his glasses and patted her shoulder. He asked the "Second Dragon Girl" what was wrong and where Xiao Wu was. He mentioned the red light they had seen in the sky.
Hearing this made Liu Erlong cry more. she slowly showed them the white rabbit in her arms. Yu Xiaogang took the quiet rabbit from her. Liu Erlong finally choked out the words, telling them that the rabbit was Xiao Wu.
She told her old friends the whole story. She explained how Xiao Wu's identity was discovered and how the red light reached the sky. She told them how Tang Chen used a strange Spirit Ability to trick Xiao Wu. Because of this trick, Xiao Wu gave her Spirit Ring and Spirit Bone to Tang Chen instead of Tang San.
Yu Xiaogang was so shocked that he stepped back. He almost dropped the rabbit. He held his chest because it hurt and his face turned very pale. He asked if it was true that Xiao Wu was a Hundred Thousand Year Spirit Beast. He was angry that Tang Chen had tricked her when she meant to sacrifice herself for Tang San.
Flender had to hold Yu Xiaogang up so he would not fall. He was frozen in shock. He looked at the rabbit and finally understood why Xiao Wu had always felt a bit different to him. The rabbit moved its ears slightly. Its red eyes reflected the sunset, looking like it still held feelings for a certain boy.
A few hours later, the sun was gone. Deep in a forest near the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, the shadows looked like ghosts. A group of men in black clothes threw an unconscious woman with golden hair onto the ground. She had a faint golden aura around her that looked strange in the dark woods.
One of the old men took off his mask and panted. He said the woman was too heavy. He asked the Vice Clan Leader if they should just take her bloodline right there. The Vice Clan Leader took off his mask to reveal his face. It was Yu Luomian, the father of Liu Erlong.
He said that taking the bloodline now would be a waste. He knelt down and touched the woman's neck. His eyes looked greedy. He explained that she had the Golden Dragon Bloodline. He wanted to take her back to the family so she could have children. He wanted to make sure the bloodline stayed in their family forever.
Another man in black looked at her and licked his lips. He asked if they could "take care of business" before they went back. The men looked at each other with evil smiles. Yu Luomian agreed and said they should do it quickly before any problems happened. He began to move toward the unconscious woman as he spoke.
