Nothing is better than the cold morning of fall, it's perfect for sleeping in…but today is not that day.
A yawn can be heard inside the bedroom of a teenager, he seems to be waking up already. As he slowly opens his eyes… there is a short pause as the boy, named Alex, looks at his alarm clock.
….
"Ahhhh!!!!" Alex yells out as he jumps out of his bed. "I forgot to set up the alarm!!!" His clock reads 7:15 AM, Alex runs to his dresser and begins to change. "Not again."
Alex puts on a yellow shirt and blue pants, it's weird, but he doesn't have time to dress properly. Alex then runs out of his room to the bathroom, he isn't going to eat right now. He doesn't have time to eat so he has to brush his teeth as fast as possible.
He brushes his teeth with speed he never knew he had, it was to the point where his gums started to bleed. He is pressing too hard, but he doesn't care, he doesn't have time to slow down. This will do for now even if his teeth turned red which wouldn't have happened otherwise.
As he finishes brushing his teeth he runs out of the bathroom into the hallway. Before he gets halfway through, his younger sister comes out of her room. This forces him to stop midway in order to not crash into his younger sister.
"Julie, get out of my way! I'm in a hurry to get to my bus stop!" Alex yells as Julie stares at him a bit startled.
"What do you mean? Don't yell at me for just waking up!!" Julie yells back at Alex with tired eyes. Julie is about to chew him out more, but Alex grabs her arms and pushes her to the side.
"I don't have time to argue with you now, I'm going to be late." Alex says as he begins to sprint past the hallways, with the sound of his sister yelling at him echoing behind him.
"I can't stop running not even for a second." Alex says as he keeps on running, his feet barely staying the floor for half a second. For a moment he feels like he ain't even touching the ground with how fast he is moving.
He runs past the kitchen where his mother seems to be making breakfast. "Honey are you crazy!! I can hear you running from the kitchen. Also don't you yell at your sist-"
"Sorry mom, but I can't argue with you right now, I don't have time to slow down. I'll get my lecturing after school!" Alex yells out as he interrupts his own mother, he is getting stressed.
Alex then enters the living room, and right there is his baby brother playing with some toys. He sees how close he is to him, and he can't stop now even if he wanted to. Alex takes a deep breath, and jumps as high as he could over his baby brother.
He barely misses kicking him in the head. "Sorry Joe for almost hitting you." Alex says as he runs to the front door, and there his shoes lay. He quickly sits down and grabs his shoes, he quickly begins to put them on.
He tries to tie his laces, but with how fast he is going, he stumbles and fails. "Not now, I don't have time for this." He says as he finally ties them, he gets up and reaches for the door knob.
As he grabs the door knob he stops right on his tracks. "Ahhh!" Alex yells out with a face of distraught, he almost forgot to grab his book bag. He turns around quickly, and runs back to his bedroom.
This time he runs around his brother, but as he runs near the kitchen. "Mom I'll talk to you when I get back home, I promise!!" Alex yells out as he runs past her, he moves his feet quickly.
He gets back into the hallway, and there his sister is looking at him. She is angry, and he knows that she is going to yell at him.
"Move out of my way sis, yell at me now and when I pass you. I don't care what you do just don't get in my way!!!" Alex says as Julie moves to the side, and Alex runs past her.
Alex is thankful Julie listens to him as he can't stop at all. He enters his bedroom, and runs up to his desk. There his book bag is, and it's open with a few notebooks on the desk.
That's right! He was doing homework late at night, but when he finished he decided to leave them there instead of putting them back as he was too tired. What kind of luck does Alex have for this to happen to him? What kind of misdeed did he commit for it?
Alex grabs his book bag, and hasty puts all his notebooks into his bag. He doesn't care if they get folded or damaged, he doesn't have time to worry about that now. He throws his book bag onto his shoulders, and he runs out of his bedroom.
He runs into the hallway, and his sister isn't there, that's a good thing. He starts to smile as maybe he might have a chance now. "Thank you." He says as he begins to sprint, taking deep breaths along the way.
Running like that would make anyone a bit tired after barely waking up after all. As he is halfway through the hallway, *BOOM* Alex covers his eyes from the bright explosion.
"Hey you right there." Alex can hear a voice calling out for him, Alex slowly opens his eyes and right there is something he never thought he would see.
In front of him an alien…A real alien is seen standing. The alien was tall and lanky, it had a bright yellow skin tone, its eyes were very small but its mouth was big.
"Human child of earth." The alien said in perfect English. "I have come from a far away galaxy, and I came with a purpose. That purpose is to examine how this planet, and its ecosystem evolved and works. Human child, please tell me everything as I'm here to document this for my project in my university's upcoming science fair." The alien said.
Alex is looking at the alien with complete surprise, but he snaps. "I'm soooo sorry, but I just can't help you out right now, I am running late to school." Alex says.
The alien is completely taken a back by this. "You aren't scared of me at all human child? I've seen your famous movies in how you all screamed and-" The alien is then interrupted.
"I am scared, but I'm too busy and I don't have time for any of this right now. You're in school right? Then you must understand my situation as I'm late for school." Alex says as he begins to move closer to the alien.
"Ah yes, humans have some for of educational system themselves." The alien says as it begins to write down in its notebook. "Alright then, go and archive your educational prowess as I'll find a different house."
"Thank you so much, but you can ask a scientist or go on the internet, you can search up labs and stuff. Trust me they know more than I do." Alex says as he runs past the Alien. This is weird, but he doesn't have time to think.
He finally makes it to the kitchen. "What was that loud noise!!! Did we get hit by something?" Alex's mother yells out as she is there looking at Alex.
"Yeah an alien came by, but it's going to leave now and I can't explain. Don't ask mom because I can't stop now, I'll be late for school." Alex says as he runs past his mom, he enters the living room, and dodges his brother who is still playing.
Alex finally makes it to the front door and opens the door, he is outside now. He turns around. "Mom lock the door for me I don't have time to lock it!" He yells out as he closes the door.
At that moment as he makes it three steps outside his house, he left the house keys inside. He must have forgotten to grab it, but it's back in his room and he can't return. Forget it he just doesn't have time for this anyways.
His mother or sister will open the front door for him if he bangs on the door loud enough. "I'm definitely late for school?" He yells out and he makes it to the sidewalk.
He is beginning to sweat, but he won't get tired, he runs past some houses. He run past some neighbors, but he can't chit chat with them. "Listen everyone, I can't have small talk as I'm running late for school!!" Alex yells out for everyone to hear.
Alex doesn't dare to look around as he can't be distracted now, finally he runs out of his neighborhood. He turns the corner, and right there his bus stop is only three blocks away. He then sees his bus which has almost arrived to his bus stop.
"Noooo!!! Not again I can't be late!!" Alex yells out as he as usual continues to run to his bus stop. He won't be late this time, he runs and runs much faster. This time his feet actually look like they aren't touching the ground, he can feel…well more like the lack feeling of his feet touching the ground.
He can't look down as if he does he will get distracted which he doesn't have the time for. He continues to run and run faster and faster, "I won't be late for school!!"
