Chapter 3 - Moving on but stuck

We walked through the forest, the weather seemed cold but that doesn't matter to us anymore, our body felt numb since the beginning we died, our bodies didn't contain that warmness of when we were alive, even the cold breeze didn't seem as enjoyable as before. We continued navigating through the forest, it was much more harder than I had expected, maps aren't my greatest friends but I wish I had one for now, after what felt like ages had passed, we saw our house, we finally found it!, the forest was quite a lot far and confusing pass by and find our house, it was utterly annoying if you ask me. Yuri then tried to open the door for unknown reasons which I am also obviously was clueless about but according to me, it wasn't the greatest idea to do for now, we used our 'typical ghost powers' to get inside the house, it was a mess, our 'parents', I should start calling them by their actually names now.

I felt disgusted and a weird sense of hatred towards them, our 'mother', Madako Sato, she is a quick – witted woman, dark brown hair, easily mistaken as black, an average height of 5'6, black eyes, she has those fragile and gentle looking body, her voice soft and clear as those small silver bells; for our 'father', Suzuki Hirotu ( due to our tradition of children taking fathers last name, me and Yuki got his last name so, our full names are Suzuki Yuna and Suzuki Yuki), he is quite interested in criminology. You can say that he is, quick witted but shrewd as well, a height of 5'12, black eyes and black hair. A normal body but one can say that it seem fragile due to the baggy type clothes he wears, his actual body type. Which I assume is a bit muscular.

I went a lot to our father as my hair was dark brown, black eyes, I was interested in criminology. Mostly due to how interesting it seemed. My height is 5'10 and my voice was a mixture of softness and a touch of deepness. Yuki went more to our mother, dark brown hair and black eyes (same as me, I am aware) her voice is gentle and soft, the innocence of this child would be easily heard. She is sharp. Her curiosity causes her to sometimes act a bit more mature at certain situations as she either knows or wants to know and a height of 5'6.

I and Yuki watched the chaos happen; both of us didn't or perhaps couldn't utter a single word, our parents- no…. Madako and Hirotu were in a hustle, cleaning all the blood off, our blood, the sole evidence that made me sick to my bones, the memory of how brutally we were killed, killed in cold blood, it replayed in my mind, 'Such wonderful parents, definitely didn't kill their own children' I thought, sarcastically. I glanced at Yuki, she wasn't in the greatest mood as expected, her eyes was fixated on the way Madako and Hirotu were cleaning all the evidence off- no… she was looking at something else, I followed her gaze, to my surprise, she was looking at that one family picture of us… we looked so happy there, "What happened so horrible that we got in this situation?" Yuki said, she just cut my thought off and said the exact same thing I was going to think about. I simply shrugged "Wish I knew…" I replied back, "but guess we have to take tons of twist and turns to figure that out", there was a brief moment of silence, our gaze was in the picture one, a happy picture of us, taken half a year ago, "It's such a pity" I broke the silence, "Look how happy we used to be…fate can be really messed up" but was it always fate?, the ones who killed us had thought of it, planned it so, why do we mostly say 'fate'?, I wondered, fate…it's weird how we all presumed that it exists, maybe it was always the human mind, the human nature and never fate, "Guess we will still stick to our 'original' plan" Yuki told, her gaze had turned to me, what plan?, I thought at first, then I remembered about the talk we had earlier ,ohh!, how did I forget such a thing? I mean, it did seem quite stupid, I even considered forgetting it but seems like I had to remember it at last " being the chill ghost's one?" I told, Yuki nodded, "Your room for now?" she asked, "Sure" I replied back.

We went upstairs; more like floated our way to my room, being something dead had its advantages and disadvantages; one of the advantages was this, not having to climb those stairs, to be honest. Who likes stairs? I find them annoying. As we reached my room, I could still hear the hustle and sounds from downstairs, it was barely audible but the faint sounds could be heard. I looked back at Yuki. She didn't try to be stupid like last time, perhaps decided to be lazy and had decided to through the door. It wasn't locked. In short, Yuki just decided to be lazy. I went through the door, the first thing I see is Yuki, lying in my bed as our cat, M (His actual name is Mono, 'M' is just a nickname) was looked quite surprised, maybe animals can see ghosts after all, I suppose to due to our sudden appearance as ghosts but maybe in his eyes, transparent, injured version of his owner. That he got confused that he left, well, who knows?, maybe he has seen ghosts but not of his owners, he left through the window, cats can jump from high places with barely any issue, how lucky, though I doubt that Mono will be returning…oh well, farewell, M. "What's next now?, wait till they leave?, suppose that it is that" I asked as I sat beside on the spot on where Yuki was lying down, "Mhm, your correct, their leaving tomorrow anyways" Yuki replied, leaving tomorrow?, well, I suppose it is easy that much, putting house up for sale and going far from our home, maybe even America?, god knows what they think?!, everything so far has almost, always been to sudden!.

As we had expected, they started packing almost everything after cleaning up every single inch of that room, perhaps even called those people who help in shifting things from one house to another, I feel bad for that guy, had to wake at 6:30 in the morning, it was quite a surprise at how planned out everything was, murder, buried, erasing all the available evidence, 0 evidence except our bodies that is literally buried in the middle of nowhere, 8 feet below, even a planned out escape, Its going too hard to catch them even after finding the body…those bodies would be nothing but bones…A skeleton, nothing more would be left to actually catch the killer.

Sure they can check can the DNA and all but I wonder how long it would be till they catch the killer who would be living there best life's in a whole new country .

The faint noises that could be heard from my room had begun to quite down, perhaps they finished all packing, and I glanced back at Yuki, who was staring into the celling, bored. "Already bored? Seriously, your hard to entertain" I said, as Yuki shot me a playful glare, "It's so boring though, like seriously, we have to wait like" She paused and looked at the clock that was in the room, it was 6:55 now, "3 or 5 hours for them to fully leave with the stuff!" Yuki complained, I sighed, it would take a lot of time for them to leave the house, we both had seemed to get a bit impatient now, "Yeah, it sucks, can't we like play UNO or something?" I replied, feeling bored, Yuki's mood seemed to brighten up, "Wait, UNO! we can play UNO" She exclaimed and rushed to the drawers where I usually put that one stack of UNO. No one would find it because it was a secret compartment I made "Imagine Madako and Hirotu would walk in and see floating UNO, they would be terrified" I said. "Pfft, it would be hilarious to see their expressions" Yuki chuckled at the thought as she found the UNO. "I would pay to watch that, I can already imagine their ridiculous expressions" Yuki replied as she sat back down on the bed with the UNO.
