Chapter 4: More than customers
Faith came back the next day, her expression unreadable. She wasn't holding any money this time, just her phone in one hand and a cool smile on her face.
"I hope you're not still angry about yesterday," she said casually, leaning against the counter like she owned the place.
I shook my head. "Business is business. Nothing personal."
She studied me, as if trying to figure out why I was so calm. Most people would have folded, especially to a girl like her—tall, sharp, and confident. But I didn't. Maybe that's why she came back.
"You're different," she finally said. "Most guys… they'd be begging just to get on my good side."
I chuckled softly. "And you think I'm like most guys?"
For a moment, silence filled the shop. Then she smiled, but this time it wasn't playful—it was challenging.
That was the beginning. Faith wasn't just another customer anymore. From that day on, she made it her mission to show up, sometimes to buy something small, sometimes just to talk. Each time, she left me with questions I couldn't answer.
Why me?
Why here?
And why now, when I had promised myself never to fall so easily again?
I didn't know yet, but Faith was going to change more than just my brother's shop routine. She was going to change me.
Thanks you all for the views I really appreciate
