Chapter 102 - Battle of the Twin Gods! Palkia Faces the Roar of Time Head-On!

A pair of eyes—glimmering with mysterious divine power.

Those eyes flickered with a dim, amber glow.

Behind them, the faint outline of their owner could just barely be discerned.

Even after those eyes opened and the light curtain rapidly pulled away, it was impossible to gauge the true size of the being.

Its enormous head filled the screen entirely, wreathed in a halo of rose-pink light.

Beneath that radiance—lay the very laws of space.

Lightning split the darkness, and when it faded—the owner of the eyes vanished completely into the void.

The pitch-black screen suddenly flickered again. A new point of light appeared—another eye, gazing in the opposite direction.

As the perspective drew back, its owner too was revealed, faintly outlined in a ghostly blue glow.

This time, the energy it exuded was not spatial—but temporal.

The law of time.

Another flash of lightning—and all returned to silence.

The audience watching from afar held their breath.

Then, a blinding bolt illuminated the screen completely.

Through that brief burst of light, the viewers finally saw them clearly—

Two colossal Pokémon, standing on opposite sides of the world itself.

Red and blue.

Space and time.

In this overlapping realm where past and future intertwined, the two legendary beings silently faced one another.

Thunder rolled through the void, and each flash revealed fleeting glimpses of their mighty forms—before the darkness swallowed them once more, as though nothing had happened at all.

[Gardenia]: Wait—those names! I remember now! Palkia, the God of Space from Sinnoh legend! Dialga, the God of Time! Those red and blue figures we just saw… they were the Twin Gods of Time and Space! We're doomed!

[Aaron]: Huh? What are you even talking about?

[Volkner]: I'm calling it right now—Aaron's definitely not from Sinnoh! How can you not know about the Twin Gods of Time and Space? Didn't your mom ever tell you bedtime stories?!

[Aaron]: Uh… I fell asleep before the story started, actually.

[Gardenia]: ...Fair enough.

[Lance]: Hold on—so, someone explain this to me. Just how strong are these "Twin Gods"? Like… compared to Lugia?

[Gardenia]: Hard to say exactly. I just know they're insanely powerful. Beyond that—beats me.

[Cynthia]: Let me explain.

[Cynthia]: Palkia holds dominion over space. In Sinnoh's mythology, it is described as a god. By controlling the very fabric of space, Palkia can open rifts and move freely between dimensions. With every breath it takes, the world's spatial balance is maintained.

[Cynthia]: Dialga, on the other hand, governs time. It can accelerate, slow, or even halt time itself. Time began to flow only upon its birth. With each beat of its heart, the river of time advances. It is said to freely traverse the past and the future.

(Note: The author apologizes—previously, the titles of the two gods were accidentally swapped!)

[Cynthia]: Normally, these two exist within their own domains and never meet. The fact that they're facing each other now… gives me a very bad feeling.

[Aaron]: What, like those two dumb sea monsters in Hoenn? The moment they meet, they start fighting?

[Professor Rowan]: That's actually quite accurate. Whenever the Twin Gods of Time and Space clash, it heralds catastrophe.

[Aaron]: Wait—shouldn't there be a third one to stop them? Like Rayquaza with Groudon and Kyogre? What about Giratina, the ruler of the Reverse World? Shouldn't it step in?

[Bertha]: You just skimmed that book, didn't you? Everyone in Sinnoh knows—Giratina's power surpasses that of Dialga and Palkia, but not in the same overwhelming way Rayquaza dominates Groudon and Kyogre! Aside from the Creator itself, no one can truly stop their war.

[Aaron]: So you're saying the world's doomed?

[Cynthia]: Don't panic. The world's still around five years later, isn't it? That means someone managed to save it.

[Gardenia]: I see—time to place our faith in Ash!

[Kalos Champion Diantha]: When the world's on the brink, you can always count on Ash.

Still—was it really that simple?

How could Ash possibly resolve a conflict between the gods of time and space?

Charm alone wouldn't cut it… right?

Something felt off. Cynthia furrowed her brow. There was something—something she'd forgotten.

(Darkrai: "Heh, that's right. This time, leave it to me!")

On-screen:

After the Twin Gods faded from view, the scene shifted.

A wooden hourglass appeared. Sand trickled slowly through it—just like the flow of time itself.

Then came a calm male voice, narrating softly:

"Two beings that should never meet… collide in the rift of time and space.

When time and space clash, their fury engulfs the world.

And then—everything begins to collapse."

Under the dim amber light, a young man read from an old book.

The glow reflected off his glasses, casting an eerie glint.

Thud.

He snapped the book shut.

"A nightmare so vivid… what could it mean?"

"Gaudí's diary, huh? I've found something quite interesting…"

The light shifted, revealing his face at last—a young man with messy white hair and thick black-rimmed glasses. His expression was calm, almost unnervingly serene.

Then—the ground trembled violently.

The hourglass fell from the table, shattering.

The instruments beside him began to flare with erratic readings.

Something had begun to interfere with reality itself.

And from the horror reflected in the young man's eyes, the audience realized—something had gone terribly wrong.

Whatever had been sealed away… was now leaking into the world.

[Flint]: It's happening again! I knew this wasn't over! Look—it's just like what happened in "The Aura Guardian"!

[Aaron]: Stop talking in riddles, man!

[Bertha]: He's from Unova, remember? You can't just tell a Sinnoh Elite to "get out of Sinnoh"!

[Aaron]: I can if he keeps confusing me!

[Volkner]: Dude, if you don't get it, study harder. The answer's right there in the text!

[Bruno]: Facts! Can't understand? Train more, learn more!

[Lorelei]: Bruno, did you even get it?

[Bruno]: Of course! Let me lay it out for you!

[Bruno]: The narrator literally spelled it out! Two beings that should never meet—time and space! It's obvious! That "Gaudí" guy must be behind it all. He predicted everything and secretly made it happen! Even their meeting was part of his plan!

Bruno looked very pleased with his deduction.

Honestly, if he weren't a martial artist, he might've made a decent researcher.

[Gardenia]: …Or maybe, just maybe, Gaudí was a musician and architect?

[Cynthia]: Actually, Bruno's theory isn't completely off. I just checked—Gaudí really did design a structure known as the "Tower of Time and Space," quietly located in Sinnoh's Alamos Town.

[Professor Rowan]: We may not know why Gaudí's diary describes such things, but there's no doubt—he's connected to all of this.

[Lance]: Wait a minute. There's no way a human could control the Twin Gods, right? Those are literal deities of creation!

[Cynthia]: Perhaps not control—but maybe he foretold it. Don't forget his final words: "nightmare." Perhaps everything he saw was through a prophetic dream.

[Wallace]: Brilliant! Leave it to you to piece it all together so perfectly.

Indeed, everyone had overlooked that final line.

"It was all… just a nightmare."

A prophetic dream, perhaps?

But if the two were never supposed to meet—then what force was powerful enough to bring time and space together?

Surely not the Creator itself…?

On-screen:

Crack!

The hourglass shattered completely.

The screen went black—then burst back to life.

Two colossal figures stood in the void.

Thunder Roarkced wildly, lighting up the endless darkness.

Dialga, gleaming in ghostly blue, and Palkia, radiant in deep magenta, faced each other once more.

Even through the screen, viewers felt the impossible distortion of time and space.

Just a glance—and one felt sucked into a whirlpool of collapsing dimensions.

A bolt of lightning split the heavens.

The Twin Gods moved.

They collided.

Time and space intertwined, shattering reality itself.

Blue and magenta waves rippled through the infinite dark, engulfing every corner.

Hidden in that void, ancient Unown writhed in the blast, their strange bodies barely surviving the cataclysmic shockwave.

After all—this was no ordinary explosion.

This was the First Impact—born of the collision between Time and Space!

The two gods broke apart, only to attack again.

Palkia raised its arms; magenta energy gathered between its claws.

A Sphere of Aura formed instantly!

(A perfectly reasonable move for the God of Space!)

The glowing orb slammed straight into Dialga's face.

A blinding explosion followed, sending the Time God reeling backward!

Dialga's eyes blazed crimson with rage. Through the smoke, it opened its jaws—orange light gathering within.

Hyper Beam—but this was no ordinary Hyper Beam.

This was the Destructive Ray of Time.

A world-ending torrent of light roared forth, tearing through everything in its path!

Palkia, calm and calculating, instantly raised a shimmering barrier—Protect—to block the attack.

[Lance]: Holy—! That one blast could wipe out my entire team!

[Lorelei]: Please, as if Palkia's Aura Sphere wouldn't do the same!

[Steven]: Truly divine-tier combat. These two make ordinary legendaries look like children.

[Wallace]: Special shoutout to Groudon and Kyogre—the red lizard and blue fish!

[Drake]: You'd better watch your words!

Out at sea, Drake glanced nervously at the calm ocean surface.

Sure, Kyogre did kind of look like a big-headed fish—but saying that aloud? Absolutely not.

His region's gods might not be as "grand" as Sinnoh's, but at least they behaved themselves most of the time…

(Groudon: "Precipice Blades—Warning."

Kyogre: "Origin Pulse—Warning."

Rayquaza: "Dragon Ascent—Warning.")

On-screen:

The clash of Hyper Beam and Protect filled the void with black smoke.

Taking advantage of the obscured vision, Dialga gathered energy at its crown—

Draco Meteor!

Flaming meteors rained into the fog.

At the same moment, a magenta flash burst out—Palkia's Aura Sphere found its mark!

Both attacks hit true—each god roaring in fury, their eyes glowing ever brighter.

Then—the focus shifted.

To Palkia's shoulder.

To the lustrous magenta orb embedded there.

The gem began to shine—streams of spatial energy converging upon it.

"Paaah!"

Palkia let out a deafening roar, swinging its arm.

The gathered light condensed into a crescent of energy—

Spacial Rend!

A technique said to tear the very fabric of space!

The massive magenta blade hurtled toward Dialga like a falling moon!

Even the Time God could not withstand a strike that dwarfed its own body severalfold.

Forced on the defensive, Dialga threw up its own Protect—a blue barrier shielding it from the blow.

But even Protect could not fully withstand a Spacial Rend!

The impact tore through, striking Dialga directly.

The Time God roared in agony—but it endured.

Furious, the blue diamond in its chest began to glow.

Temporal energy surged!

Panels of metal along its tail unfolded as time itself coalesced in its maw.

Streams of light—spiraling like glass orbs—converged into a single point.

In that instant, power beyond mortal comprehension was born.

Roar of Time!

The Time God's ultimate move—able to erase an enemy from the river of time itself!

Waves of temporal energy rippled outward from Dialga.

The laws of causality trembled.

Facing this apocalyptic surge, Palkia could no longer rely on Protect—its shield already spent.

All eyes turned to the God of Space.

How would Palkia withstand the Roar of Time?

Under the collective gaze of the world—

Palkia slowly turned sideways, revealing the gleaming Pearl Orb on its shoulder.

The audience froze.

…Wait.

Was the God of Space planning to take it head-on?!
