Mr. Banks, Big Boss wants to see you in his office.
The last words of the caller sank deep into Mr. Banks' emotions as he sat frozen in his leather chair. His pulse quickened, drumming against his ribs like a warning he couldn't ignore. Big Boss never summoned anyone without reason — and reasons in this company were rarely pleasant.
He straightened his tie, but his fingers trembled.
The office clock ticked, each second a heavy reminder that the walk to Big Boss's office could change everything.
Mr. Banks knew he was in trouble due to the incident which occurred last night. He was told to send one of Big Boss's numerous concubines to the clinic. This concubine was Big Boss's favorite. But due to an enormous traffic jam, the lady died in the car. Mr. Banks got up from his seat and headed out from his office. As he walked through the hallway of his office, he felt the heat and torture he would go through. I'm in so much trouble, he murmured to himself. Sir, should I get the car ready? Sir, sir. Mm-hmm. He hummed to his secretary. As they sat in the car, he thought of all the possible incentives Big Boss can ask for. Good evening, Big Boss. Mr. Banks greeted. Big Boss pretended not to hear as he continued to stare through his roof-to-bottom glass window. I hate it when trusted members of my circle like you break or fail my request, Big Boss said with his authoritative tone. It was calm but yet deadly. I have a number one rule when it comes to my babies. Do not let them die. They do not own them. I get to own them. But yet you went ahead to break that rule. Now my queen is dead and you have to replace her with something more precious to you. I heard you will be hosting a family reunion this weekend. Now listen to the deal. I will visit you at your house during that weekend. And the first female to talk to me in the warmer that surrounds your house will spend the night with me, Big Boss said and tapped the shoulders of Mr. Banks with a smack on his face as he walked out of his office. Mr. Banks POV. I stood in awe as Big Boss left his office. Big Boss was the head of the circle, an organization which brought in illegal diamonds from countries all over the world. The circle was home for all illegal transactions and smuggling of hard drugs. Our activities earned the circle lots of billions every year. You're really building up the tension beautifully—the contrast between Big Boss's threat and the calm, loving domestic scene at home makes the suspense even sharper. Right now, the reader can feel Mr. Banks's dread bleeding into what should have been a peaceful evening .

I quietly left Big Boss's office, my mind clouded with dark, pessimistic thoughts. What if it's my mother? What if it's my wife? The weight of the deal sat on my chest like an anvil.
Leaving the circle wasn't an option. I couldn't afford to. The organization wasn't just a partnership—it was the backbone of Bangs Group of Companies. My empire—our clothing line, our jewelry line, ranked among the top five in the nation and beyond—stood tall only because of the millions funneled into my account every month by the circle. Without it, everything would crumble.
By the time I pulled into the garage, my head throbbed with unspoken fears.
"You look exhausted," my wife said, walking toward the car.
"How is Mrs. Camilla Bangs doing?" I asked, forcing a smile as I kissed her lips.
"Doing great," she answered, her face glowing with a brightness I no longer felt.
We walked into the mansion together, the warmth of her hand in mine clashing with the chill in my heart. A maid hurried forward to take my suitcase and coat.
But even as the house buzzed with comfort and familiarity, one thought tormented me: In a few days, Big Boss will come here. And the first woman who speaks to him… will never be mine again
