After receiving their wands, everyone was eager to try out various spells.
Before they had wands, everyone took turns using a common wand to cast spells, which meant they would only get a chance every few days, and each time they could only practice a little.
Therefore, many people simply took a small stick, similar to a wand, and waved it around to practice.
Now that they had wands, they basically succeeded in casting spells on their first try.
Some used their wands to release orbs of light, some made leaves float, some conjured a cluster of flames, some transformed matches into needles... Everyone specialized in different types of magic. Some had a particular fondness for the Lumos Charm, some excelled at fire spells, some had a talent for Transfiguration, some were good at Herbology... Some had even successfully brewed Potions in the half-year before they even received their wands, even if they were just the most basic Potions, it still showed their talent in Potions.
Looking at these people, Luke's eyes were full of smiles.
After more than half a year of getting to know them, he had come to understand these "new Wizards."
Now that these people had received their wands, Luke no longer let them self-study but decided to establish a Magic Crash Course to cultivate these more than five hundred people into his Wizarding core.
In addition to Bill previously teaching wand-making techniques, Luke also planned to select people to teach broomstick-making techniques, as well as floo powder production... and to cultivate Potion Masters, alchemists, Herbology Masters, and so on.
Perhaps it was a husband and wife's telepathy, as Arwen also, while training a group of Witches, selected a woman skilled in weaving and taught her magical weaving techniques.
Perhaps in the future, a "Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions" might be born in Hogsmeade.
Everyone was very excited that the Lord was going to open a Magic Crash Course for them.
Since they had gained some understanding of magic, they deeply felt how profound the Lord's magic was. Miracles of magic were everywhere in the castle: the never-extinguishing Gubraithian Fire, the ceiling that synchronized with the outside weather, floating candles, moving magical portraits, shifting staircases, patrolling suits of armor, and various other magical phenomena, all at a level they currently could not comprehend.
Not to mention the Thunderbird that could summon lightning storms, the giant octopus in the Black Lake, and the rumored dragon guarding the treasure vault, as well as the Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets, all filled everyone with awe and curiosity.
So now that the Lord himself was going to be their teacher and teach them magic, everyone looked forward to it eagerly and studied diligently.
The number of over five hundred people was almost comparable to the student population of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the magical world.
To accommodate so many people studying at once, Luke specially expanded the classroom using an Undetectable Extension Charm.
Since it was a Magic Crash Course, it naturally couldn't be like Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, which set up seven grades for gradual instruction.
Therefore, Luke mainly taught them Charms, Transfiguration, Potions, and Herbology to quickly improve their magical literacy and abilities.
Luke taught Transfiguration and Potions, while Arwen was responsible for teaching Charms and Herbology.
Upon hearing the news, Mayor Latch and Luke rushed to the castle, requesting to join the crash course.
Luke naturally wouldn't refuse; after all, it was the same effort to teach one sheep or a flock of sheep, so he also added his butler, Edward, to the crash course.
Thus, to avoid affecting government affairs, Mayor Latch and Luke basically came to the castle every day during the day through the fireplace to study, and then returned to handle municipal affairs in the evening.
Although they were very busy, neither of them chose to give up.
After all, no one would be willing to give up such an opportunity to receive instruction from the Lord.
In the Potion Class, Luke stood on the podium, looking at the more than five hundred students below.
With so many students gathered here, the room, expanded by the Undetectable Extension Charm, looked like a Great Hall.
Every two students formed a group, with cauldrons, spirit lamps, stirring rods, Potion ingredients, and other items placed on the table in front of them.
The room was large, but Luke's voice accurately reached every student's ear.
As he explained, the giant screen behind him automatically displayed the Potion-making steps and precautions.
The large font and striking colors allowed even those in the last row to see clearly.
Luke almost recreated Professor Snape's classic lines, like "...You are here to learn the subtle science and exact art of Potion-making. As there is little foolish wand-waving here, many of you will hardly believe this is magic. I don't expect you to really understand the simmering cauldron with white smoke..."
to give this group a bit of a shock, but he thought better of it, as it was a bit chuunibyou.
So, after explaining the Potion content, he said, "Alright, now start making the Boil-Cure Potion. Get to it."
He then walked down from the podium and began to patrol among the students.
Although the students here were all adults, and some even elderly, and the making of the Boil-Cure Potion was not complicated, Luke was still worried about a "cauldron killer" like Neville Longbottom appearing.
Upon receiving Luke's command, the students all began to cooperate in making the Potion.
To Luke's relief, because they were all adults and eager to seize this hard-won opportunity to gain the Lord's approval,
they were all very serious and meticulous, following Luke's instructions step by step, not daring to make any mistakes.
Although their movements were somewhat clumsy, following this process, they could basically all produce qualified Boil-Cure Potions.
For those like Butler Edward who had made Potions before, the Boil-Cure Potion presented no difficulty at all; their movements were fluid, and the Potions they produced were of perfect quality.
There were also a few with good Potion talent, such as Buttercup, the owner of the Leaping Horse Inn, who was one of them. Although they were all novices, by mastering the heat and timing, the Potions they produced were also of good quality.
Luke secretly noted these well-performing individuals, planning to focus on cultivating them in the direction of Potion Masters in the future.
Of course, if a Potion Master could emerge, Luke would be beaming with joy.
Just as Luke thought this Potion Class would pass smoothly, a cry of alarm came from not far away.
Luke had a bad premonition and instantly Apparated to the source of the sound.
"Protego!"
Luke cast a spell, which transformed into an invisible protective shield, enveloping the boiling cauldron.
At the same time, the cauldron directly exploded, and green Potion corroded through the cauldron, splashing everywhere.
If not for the spell blocking it, the people around would have probably been in danger.
The other people around looked at the Potion that had corroded the cauldron and table with lingering fear, their eyes full of admiration for the Lord who had saved them.
Luke, however, looked at the culprit, his brow furrowed, his expression somewhat speechless, "Brog, when adding the porcupine quills, you must first remove the cauldron from the flame. I've said this more than once, haven't I?"
He hadn't expected that his most steady subordinate, in his opinion, would be the first to make a mistake.
At this moment, Brog, looked like a child who had made a mistake, his face flushed with embarrassment.
"I apologize, my lord. I was in such a hurry that I forgot."
"Alright, make it again. I'll watch you." Luke wasn't angry. He simply waved his wand, summoning a spare cauldron and another set of Potion ingredients.
He refused to believe that someone couldn't make a simple, basic Boil-Cure Potion.
Another half an hour passed, and everyone else had already finished making their Potions.
The quality of the Potions varied, but they all marginally passed.
However, Luke looked at the Potion Brog had made for the second time—a pungent, yellow-green, unknown liquid in the cauldron.
He took a deep breath and asked in a low voice, "Brog, can you tell me what this is?"
Brog looked at his seemingly calm lord, feeling a sense of danger for some reason, and cautiously ventured, "A Boil-Cure Potion?"
Luke's temple twitched. He finally understood Professor Snape's feelings. If he always encountered students like this, he too would probably become irritable and grim-faced.
But seeing Brog's anxious and uneasy expression, Luke could only sigh and wave his hand.
"Alright, that's enough. Just remember not to blow up the cauldron in the future, or you'll have to buy your own."
Luke had given up. He had watched Brog follow his instructions step by step to make the Potion.
Yet the final result was a pot of unknown, pungent liquid.
This could only mean that his subordinate, Brog, the strongest warrior, was a "cauldron killer" with no talent for Potions.
The only comfort for Luke was that, apart from Brog the cauldron killer, everyone else, even if their Potion talent wasn't high, made no major mistakes. The Potions they produced had many impurities, but they were still considered successful.
Luke wasn't surprised by this. After all, they were all adults, so they were naturally much more reliable than first-year students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Therefore, out of a total of 543 people, over three hundred portions of the Boil-Cure Potion were usable.
Luke simply stored all these Potions in the infirmary for future needs.
And with these students as assistants, Luke thought he wouldn't lack Potions in the future.
Besides Potion Class, Luke was also responsible for teaching Transfiguration.
There weren't too many surprises in Transfiguration, but everyone's talent in it varied.
A few individuals had good Transfiguration talent, successfully completing transformations after just a few attempts.
Luke made a mental note of these individuals, planning to cultivate them in Transfiguration.
The Magic Crash Course curriculum was very intensive: four classes in the morning, four in the afternoon, and two in the evening, each 50 minutes long, directly following the intensity of college entrance exam preparation.
The goal was to cram magical knowledge into their brains in the shortest possible time, allowing them to improve their strength as quickly as possible.
With so many classes, Luke naturally couldn't attend every single one, nor did he want his wife, Arwen, to be overworked.
So, for most of the time, the classes were taught by their portraits; after all, the knowledge and memories they possessed were also held by their portraits.
Luke only appeared in class for certain risky subjects to oversee everything and prevent magical accidents.
To Luke's surprise, Brog, who had shown no talent in Potions, was exceptionally gifted in Charms.
He performed particularly outstandingly in offensive magic.
There were also some who showed talent in Herbology.
Teaching time passed in a flash.
A year had gone by, and it was now March 2950.
All the students of the Magic Crash Course were finally about to graduate this year.
During this year, all students underwent high-intensity learning, compressing and hastily absorbing all the knowledge of Charms, Transfiguration, Potions, and Herbology from first to seventh year.
When they felt tired, they were provided with energy Potions, exhilaration Potions, and other Potions to ensure they remained energetic, as well as lake water brought back from Hildórien, the birthplace of humans, which could eliminate fatigue and invigorate the spirit.
Thus, the students of the Magic Crash Course either studied themselves to death or competed fiercely.
And this cramming method of teaching proved very effective.
By now, all students had basically mastered common Charms, and their magical proficiency had reached the level of an ordinary Wizard in the magical world.
Currently, these students were undergoing Apparition assessments under the supervision of Luke and Arwen.
On the wide, flat lawn of the castle, Luke waved his wand and drew two circles on the grass, instructing students one by one to Apparate from one circle into the other.
Everyone yearned for this magic that allowed instantaneous travel, so they eagerly participated in the assessment.
However, their performances varied. Some only lost an eyebrow, or a lock of hair, or a fingernail.
More severely, some lost body parts like a finger or an ear.
The most severe cases of Splinching resulted in half a body appearing in the other circle, while the other half remained in the original spot.
This terrifying sight made the surrounding onlookers turn pale, all believing the person was about to die.
The person who had Splinched was also terrified, unable to help but scream.
"Ah! I'm going to die! I'm going to die! I don't want to die!"
"Alright, alright! It's just Splinching, a minor issue, you won't die!"
Luke, however, looked completely unfazed, swiftly waving his wand to reattach the two separated body halves and then repairing them with magic.
The young man, who had thought he was going to die, looked at his reassembled body with surprise and the relief of a narrow escape.
The other onlookers were also astonished by this miraculous situation.
Although their lord had mentioned Splinching before, seeing it firsthand was still incredibly shocking.
Normally, such a situation would undoubtedly be fatal for ordinary people, but now, with magical means, it was just a minor problem.
This realization, while shocking everyone, also made them yearn for and pursue magic even more.
After entrusting the person who had Splinched to Arwen for comfort, to prevent psychological trauma, Luke continued to arrange Apparition training for others.
After three months of such training, all students of the Magic Crash Course successfully mastered Apparition.
At this point, the Magic Crash Course officially graduated.
Luke had different arrangements for each of these students.
For example, Bill, who had inherited Luke's wand-making craftsmanship, officially became a wandmaker, specializing in making wands.
He also selected a talented student and taught him the craftsmanship of making broomsticks, who would henceforth be responsible for making broomsticks.
Besides serving as flying tools for Wizards, there were also plans to form Quidditch teams, and perhaps even host a Quidditch Cup in the future.
At the same time, he selected several older students to establish a floo powder production workshop, which would then be managed by them to produce floo powder.
Additionally, he selected several students with good talent in Potions and Herbology to continue their advanced studies in the castle, responsible for making Potions and tending to the herb garden.
Finally, from the remaining students, Luke selected one hundred outstanding individuals to form the Aurors.
Led by Brog, they would serve as Luke's "special forces," responsible for safeguarding the security of Amon Sul, Bree, and Isengard, handling serious magical incidents that ordinary people couldn't manage, as well as pursuing and apprehending enemies, and countering invaders, among other tasks.
