Preface; Author's Note:

Falling, Standing, and Creating

Because every fall is only the start of another rise.

Before I was a writer, I was a reader — exploring many genres, but always drawn to the fluffy, the sweet, the comedic romances and action tales. They were light, comforting, and they kept me smiling.

Then, one story — a manga — changed everything. It pulled me into a fantasy world so deeply that it shook me. But the story stopped… and never returned. My heart broke waiting.

That's when I decided to create one of my own. I chose my favorite dark fantasy lore: vampires. But at first, I was like a baby learning to walk — full of hope but hitting walls too quickly. I stumbled, and after enough falls, I stopped writing.

For years. Three, maybe five. I thought it was over.

Then one day, a thought came back to me: "Why not try again? Why not continue what you left behind?"

I laughed at myself, thinking: "Who would care? There are hundreds of vampire stories already. Mine isn't good enough." Still, the voice wouldn't leave.

One night, when sleep refused to come, my mind ran wild with stories, like a marathon I couldn't escape. I gave in. I pulled out my old laptop — broken, abandoned, gathering dust for months.

Two days of frustration and headaches later, it finally came alive again.

And so here I am, continuing this work. Baby steps, yes. But moving forward.

If there's something I learned, it's this: it doesn't matter how many times you stop, how many walls you hit, or how many years slip by.

What matters is that spark when it returns — and having the courage to follow it again.

This story is me following mine.

✨ Even if I fall hundreds or thousands of times, I'll keep standing up again. Nothing is too hard if you believe in yourself.
