Martin Beckman awoke in a void.
He floated for what seemed like a lifetime. In fact it could have been thanks to his Eidetic memory, Martin was able to re live his entire life in his head as he floated in the void.
Suddenly Martin was sitting in a high back comfy chair looking at Stan Lee.
"First things first, I'm not Stan Lee, this is just a form you'd be ok with. Right let's get to it. Simple enough really, Mr Beckman you died from a genetic disorder that you were diagnosed with at the age of six. You died at 23 and in those years you were a kind and helpful person given you quite a lot of karma. And your life ended with you giving consent for organ donation. All in all a good but short life, that's racked up a lot of good karma.
Martin just sat there listening he knew he had died and he guessed this was the pitstop before going up or down.
Stan Lee smiled and said " Not quite Martin, you see your not going up or down, because of your good karma you're going to be reborn with advantages."
Martin was stunned he'd read fanfiction about reincarnation and the like but never thought that it could actually happen.
"As a reward for your good karma you get three choices 1: what world you go to. 2: the gift you receive. 3: the mystery." Stan Lee said.
"Ok, what are the choices for the first choice?" Martin asked. Stan Lee smiled and replied, "The new 52 DC, The Marvel Cinematic Alternate Universe, Avatar TLA."
Martin sat there and thought DC was basically a death sentence to the under powered and he didn't know what the gift he'd get was. The MCU was also a worry but with the right power or ability it was survivable, and while the world of Avatar with elements bending would be cool it's kind of a boring world if your not one off the Avateens.
After a minute or so Martin spoke " The Marvel Cinematic Alternate Universe please"
Stan Lee nodded "A reasonable choice, next is the gift you receive, now usually it a gift from the same universe but thanks to your karma you can have a platinum Top tier gift or you can have a gold standard gift from one of the other two world choices."
Martin thought for a moment then replied, "I chose the blue bettle Scarb from DC with the identity of cortana from Halo please". Stan Lee thought for a moment then smiled and nodded "that's fine".
Martin smiled happily at this.
"Finally your last choice is the mystery choice", Stan Lee said. "This choice is a unknown choice you pick option A or B or C and you will receive it when you awaken in your new world. So what will it be?".
Martin sat in his chair for about an hour before finally speaking, " I'll choice option C please".
Stan Lee nodded"Very well good luck to you in your new world and life Mr Beckman and with a wave of his hand Martin disappeared.
Once alone Stan Lee started laughing loudly and smiled at what awaited the young man.
