_Chapter 9: The unspoken words
As they navigated the silver-rank dungeon, Saya struggled to keep up with the monsters, her frustration and fatigue evident on her face. Damon, sensing her distress, adjusted his strategy, using his strength to shield her and help her gain experience.
Meanwhile, Damon's own progress was remarkable. Although he didn't unlock any new skills during this battle, he began to realize that his locked skills required specific conditions to be met before they could be unlocked. However, with Saya's safety at risk, Damon didn't want to engage in any unnecessary battles that might put her in harm's way.
As they fought the monsters, Damon noticed a demon watching them from the shadows. Its piercing red eyes seemed to be fixed on him, and Damon's instincts told him to keep a safe distance. He didn't want to provoke the demon and risk Saya's safety, so he focused on defeating the monsters and keeping Saya safe.
The battle was intense, with Damon taking the lead. Saya contributed what she could, but it was clear that Damon's strength was unmatched. As the fight concluded, Saya gained a significant amount of experience, and her level increased. Damon realized that his own leveling up was slow compared to Saya's rapid progress. He attributed it to the weak monsters they had been facing, which didn't challenge him enough. For Saya, however, these monsters were a significant challenge, and she was reaping the rewards of her hard work.
As they caught their breath, Saya's expression turned serious. She took a step closer to Damon, her eyes locked on his. "Damon, I have something to tell you," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Damon's curiosity was piqued, and he leaned in slightly, eager to hear what she had to say.
But Saya's lips remained sealed, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. Damon's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. What could she possibly want to tell him? He couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation, wondering what secrets she might reveal.
The air was filled with tension, and Damon's heart beat slightly faster as he waited for Saya to continue. But for now, she remained silent, leaving Damon to wonder what was on her mind...
