The urge to kiss her
(Melissa pov)
"The full moon will rise in the next three days. Tell the soldiers to prepare; we shall conquer our enemy," Edwin ordered his beta.
I flinched, a wave of unease washing over me. The promise I had made to the late queen weighed heavily on my mind. It still felt like yesterday, and now this heartless monster, Edwin, who dared call himself king, was after the life of the true heir to the throne. What do I do? I thought, panic clawing at my chest.

I found myself behind the maid, Melissa, who seemed lost in thought. I caught her whispering, "What do I do?" Curiosity got the better of me.
"What do you want to do?" I asked, and she flinched, clearly startled by my sudden presence.
"I… I'm sorry, Your Majesty. I didn't know you were here," she stammered. "Your Majesty… has it been long since you came?"
I repeated coldly, "What do you want to do?"
"I… I…" she struggled, faltering under my gaze. "When did you start stammering, Melissa?" I pressed, suspicion sharpening my tone. "Don't think I don't know what you're up to. And trust me, if it has anything to do with that child, Isabella, just know I will not spare your life. I am watching you."
I stormed out angrily, my mind already formulating the next move. I summoned a guard outside. "Keep an eye on her. Whatever she does, report to me immediately."
I had come intending to enjoy a moment of reprieve, something I desperately needed. But now, I was dragged back to that decrepit haggard I called my wife, useless, unable to give me a child, lying like a log while I did everything.
Yet, Melissa… What keeps her alive in my eyes is the struggle she puts up whenever I'm having s*x with her. That resistance drives me wild. That is the only reason she has survived this long; otherwise, she would have exhausted my patience.
But if she dares try anything stupid concerning that child, the so-called Isabella, whose prophecy says she's bound to end my reign,I will not hesitate to end her miserable life. Melissa, or whatever you call yourself, watch your back. I will change that prophecy, and I must rule this kingdom to the fullest, a kingdom where everyone knows their place, from noble to commoner. I cannot wait to end that child's life once and for all.
Antonio and Luna, you think you can always outsmart me by hiding her in the human realm? I've killed you both, and taking the child will be like crushing an ant. For I am Edwin, and I do what pleases me."

I paced in my chamber, my mind racing after Edwin had left. I didn't know what to do. Suddenly, a thought struck me: should I reveal to her the hidden power of destruction and protection that Queen Luna had asked me to show her? No… she said only when she wants to climb the throne. The prophecy warned Luna it wouldn't be an easy journey and that it would involve bloodshed.
Finally, I made my decision. I'll step into the realm of her dream as I always did and warn her to stay in her house, not wander in the woods during the full moon like she used to. Yes… that would do.
Just then, a guard barged in, scanning every corner of the room. "Who were you talking to, Melissa?" he asked, frowning.
I rolled my eyes. "I was talking to no one… did you see anyone?"
The guard smirked. "Some nerves, huh? Just watch your back, bitch," he said, making the sign of my eyes watching you before turning to leave.
I hissed under my breath. Oh, now he has appointed someone to watch me too… as if he hasn't done enough. I need to be careful and act fast. Then I slapped myself on the cheek. Why do I always speak my thoughts out loud?
Taking a deep breath, I began casting the spell to summon the door to her dreaming soul.

I was still in the office, working through the pile of files Mr. Orangutan had dumped on me as punishment for what happened between me and his fiancée. The files were neatly arranged and detailed, almost too perfect but who was I to complain? Losing my job was the last thing I could afford. Suddenly,my head grew heavy with sleep, and yawns slipped out one after another. That was the last thing I remembered.

I picked up my car keys from the table and headed out to go home, but then I noticed a light still on in the secretary's office. Curious about who it might be, I stepped inside and there I found Miss Hyena was still in the office who was fast asleep, her head resting on the table, a file dangling loosely from her hand as if ready to fall. I stood there, staring. She looked… beautiful in her sleep. Quietly, I moved closer, brushing a strand of hair away from her face. My gaze drifted to her lips, soft, pink, and tempting. An urge to kiss them stirred inside me, and I leaned closer, breath held.
But before I could get any nearer, her eyes snapped open. With surprising force, she shoved me backward, and I landed on my butt with a thud. Shocked, I blinked at her, wondering where she had gotten such strength.
"I am not your queen!" she thundered.
I scrambled to my feet and glared at her, anger flickering hot in my chest.

I didn't even know when I had fallen asleep, then I was dreaming again, the nightmare returned, the one I thought had ended long ago.
The mysterious woman appeared, the same one who always called me my queen.
"My queen," she pleaded, her voice desperate. "The full moon is only three days away. I know you always go to the woods to shift, but this time, please don't. There is danger ahead."
"Listen, woman," I snapped. "First of all, I am not your queen. And second, I don't believe in this nonsense you keep saying. I don't even know you so why should I trust you?"
Tears welled in her eyes. "Please, my queen. You must listen to me. There is great danger ahead."
"I said I am not your queen!" I shouted.
Suddenly, my eyes flew open and I froze. Mr. Orangutan's face was right there, so close, his lips almost touching mine. Startled, and still caught in the grip of the dream, I shoved him away causing him to fall before
I even understood what I had done.
Not again, I cursed inwardly.
