'Fuck-! Did I overestimate myself? How does Dan handle all these orders anyway?'
I cursed in my mind as I prepared the food from scratch as new orders kept pouring inside the kitchen.
At this point, I already had more than 5 unstarted orders and 3 that were about to finish. Just as I finished the third dish, another order came in, causing me to feel trapped.
"Emma, you might want to slow down on the orders. I don't think I can keep up here."
I told Emma as I tried to keep up with what was happening. And Emma looked sorry to see how busy I was at the moment.
"Ah-! Sorry for this mess, Kyle. I will tell people that we are not taking any orders for now. Should I send Ben here to help you as well?"
She asked and I shook my head.
"No-! That won't be necessary for now. I can handle all this on my own. But if you truly want to help me out, can you just…slow things down out there?"
The lack of preparation before opening truly was coming to bite me in the back.
