Chapter 5 - He's Destructive

A couple of days later, River and Rain sat in the meeting room with the Main family.

Their uncle held sudden meeting to discuss about how to deal with minor family's situation.

Though River and both weren't willing but eventually they to join. Their uncle looked around, nodded, and said,

"Let's begin."

Unfortunately, an hour later, Rain was seething while River barely stopped himself from flipping the table.

Their uncle's suggestion and decision were making both bothers both angry and irritated.

"The baby will be safer here at the Main House. Without an omega or beta, you can't raise him properly," Adrin said.

River's jaw tightened. He and Rain knew the point wasn't wrong—but after just a week, they were already too attached.

"Uncle, I can manage—"

"Manage?" Adrin cut him off. "If not here, I'll send omegas and betas to your house. They'll take care of Rain and the baby."

River frowned. He didn't like strangers in his home, especially an omega.

"Paa… maybe give River some time," Ethan spoke gently.

"Time? Our enemies won't wait! The Minor House is weak. They'll strike soon!" Adrin snapped.

"Uncle, trust me. I'll handle it." River kept his tone calm.

"I'll help too!" Rain added firmly.

Adrin scoffed. "Two alphas raising a baby? Impossible. River, take a mate instead."

River froze, exchanging a look with Rain. River wasn't ready for it, having a mate would increase his burden especially if it's someone delicate.

River was about to speak when he realises something. His uncle's behaviour suggested like he already chose someone and just wanted River to accept it.

"Sounds like you already have someone in mind…"

"No. But I can arrange good matches," Adrin said.

"Thank you. Not necessary."

"Why not? You haven't even tried!"

"Because it' unnecessary," River shot back, irritation creeping in.

Adrin's voice rose. "You reject every solution—no merging, no sending the baby, no helpers, no mate! How long do you plan to ruin my brother's legacy?"

He slammed the table and stood. Everyone flinched.

"Pa…" Evyan tugged his sleeve until Adrin sat down again, still fuming.

"You'll meet the omegas I've chosen. Decide after that."

"Uncle, you can't force me!" River's voice thundered.

"Since Adkin is gone, I protect the Minor families! Both your brothers need someone stable. Who better than your omega?"

River's scowl deepened.

"Mr. Shun's son—Cade—is available," Adrin added.

The room froze. Evyan tensed. Rain, Ethan, and Evan stared in disbelief.

East eyed his father, the younger alpha could smell the plotting.

"NO!" River roared, springing to his feet.

"You will obey me! I am your alpha!" Adrin bellowed.

"No, you're not!" River's eyes blazed red.

"River, calm down—" Evyan stepped closer, but retreated when River growled.

"The Minor House is mine to protect. No one decides for us! Keep your fake concern to yourself!" River snapped.

"You can't speak to Paa like that!" Evyan barked.

"Oh, I love this," Ethan whispered in awe.

River sneered. "Go ahead, be his puppet. I'm not. I'm River Saeth—I don't follow blindly!"

Adrin tried to soften. "River, listen. A mate will help you…"

"Who said Alpha River doesn't already have one?"

The voice came from the door. Everyone turned. Rain exhaled in relief, but River scowled harder.

View stepped inside, baby in his arms. He moved to stand beside River and Rain.

"And who are you to barge in?" Adrin demanded.

Before Owen could escort him out, several guards stumbled in—injured.

Gasps filled the room.

View shrugged. "I told them to let me in. They didn't listen."

"You fought them while holding the baby?!" River snapped.

View rolled his eyes. "Please. I may be the best, but I'd never risk Sea"

"Sea?" Rain asked.

View smiled, kissed the baby's forehead. "Yes. Isn't it lovely? Matches your and Alpha's name too."

He turned to the room, smile widening as his eyes locked on Adrin.

"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm View—Alpha River's mate."
