Chapter 33 - The campaign

After the encounter with the son, Lucifer and Satasha heard the news of his death week later, she didn't care about the news she obtained what she wanted from him and that's what matters.

Lucifer on the other hand grew weary, he thinks that she had something to do with that, and she did.

For a while The Fallen was tracking her every move once she leaves Helheim, for him that place is unreachable and he'd kill to know what happens there or what does that place hides, even before the massacre he wasn't permitted there. Once Satasha leaves there he could feel it from the bond that linked both of their fates thanks to her spell that made her life dependent on his.

When she left to the east he had speculated that she wanted to take his son's soul but to his surprise she left him alive when he found him, almost as if she wanted him to kill his own son, for him it didn't bother him at all, one less headache, he killed his son without hesitation nor remorse. With that he had recovered to some extent, he tried to sever the bond between him and Satasha but he couldn't, almost as if there's a higher power that stops him from doing so and for Sameal that was bothersome.

If he could use the bond to track her down then she can do the same, her ability to hide herself even if she was tracing him at the moment, he'd never know.

Sameal liked the thrill that came with this forsaken bond, it excites him to finally kill his boredom by tormenting her once in a while, their encounter last time in Busiris made him happy for weeks that he'd let her kill Ishtar as she pleased.

It bothered him sometimes that she's his foe, he'd have quite fun creating chaos together, but her attempts had always completed his, like they're thinking about the same thing, sharing the same will, almost as if she was deliberately helping him.

Their crimes became intertwined that for someone like Zeta it was almost undistinguishable.

The plague was his doing, the famine that followed was hers. The western temple fall was her doing, while the south was his, and the chaos that followed was joined efforts from both of them.

He'd spread panic while she uses hope as her weapon, he uses the facts to stains her image while she uses the benefits of doubt.

Unified yet different, the push and pull moves that made it easier to shift the tides on one direction; fighting for the emperor's title.

Satasha was betting on Keno and Sameal was counting on his success, for him Keno is the perfect puppet even if he'd never allow him to have his body, he would be useful.

Sameal's attacking Mika was a diversion, he was nudging them to support Keno, and he was counting on Satasha to convince them.

Little did he know, Satasha had long obtained something beyond his capabilities; Odin's foresight. She had gained it during her journey to Valhalla.

...

Right after she went to Helheim to heal, Satasha used the loophole that she has; Her ability to travel through time and manipulate it along with the space. That gave her the advantage to do everything in span of seconds without being discovered, one of the times she used this ability is when she poisoned Enkidu.

When she gave Mika access to Helheim she also made it so she knows when he's there and travel back to Helheim in instant.

Consequently, she made her journey to Valhalla within the span of five minutes before he arrived.

...

Valhalla was warrior's Heaven, Odin's realm where he rested there after the infamous incident of Ragnarok.

Valhalla was a big palace hidden at plain sight, not far away from Helheim, almost fifty acres to north resides a barrier that stood still even after Odin's death. Hemidall's corpse stood at its gate welcoming the fallen warriors to the eternal feast.

When Satasha crossed the gates, lanterns that filled the hall were lit, empty long tables with empty seats were placed across the hall, and at the end of it was big chair placed at higher level from everything else in the hall.

Satasha walked steadily toward the chair then knelt in front of it.

On that chair sat a skeleton.

"Who dares venture in the halls of Valhalla uninvited?" a man voice echoed

Satasha "A humble servant of the lord!" she declared.

"And does this servant has a name?" the voice echoed

Satasha "Hel, Loki's daughter" she announced.

The hall went dead silent for a minute, then the skeleton in front of her leaned forward, it eye glowed "Lift your head child! Let me get a closer look"

Satasha did as she told "Greetings my lord! Your humble servant deserves punishment"

The skeleton grew livelier by the minute until flesh and skin covered it, or thats what it appears to be, his specter made the hall warm and vibrant, chatter and laughter echoed across the hall.

"And what are your crimes?" Odin asked

"I've failed to take vengeance upon those who harmed our tribe, I've failed my mother by taking what doesn't belong to me, and I've failed to get more powerful so I could change the past" she lowered her head ashamed.

Odin "None of these seemed to be a crime, it's just your insecurities being projected, now tell me what brings you here?"

Satasha present the bead that held her brother's soul forward stating "I hope that you accept my brother as one of your guests in the eternal banquet"

Odin rubbed his chin "Your brother killed my son! Let's ask him if he'd like having him here"

From the side of the hall Thor's specter appeared marching heavily till he stood next to Odin's chair "Is Jörmungandr here?"

Odin "Indeed"

Thor chuckled excitedly "Finally my dull days are about to be exciting again"

Satasha "But he killed you?"

Thor scoffed "That happened when I was trying to seal him, that bastard left our business unfinished, tell me kid who killed him?"

Satasha saddened "I did!"

Odin "Oh my why did you do that?"

Satasha "To release him from his seal"

Thor "Such a pity!" he addressed Odin "Father you should allow him to stay here! I want to fight him one last time"

Odin smiled and Thor's specter disappeared along with the bead that had Jörmungandr

Soul.

"Thank you" She bowed

"You lied! Why did you kill him?" he asked

Satasha "I wanted to obtain more power"

Odin "You are powerful enough, you just need to know where your strength lies!" he waved his hand and out of the blue two Ravens appeared "Here, I'll lend you Huginn and Muninn to aid you in your quest, they'll be your eyes and ears as they were mine"

Satasha bowed lower "I can't accept such gift! Granting my brother the blessing of being in Valhalla is enough for me"

Odin "I am giving you my foresight as well, let them be your guide during dark times"

Satasha "My lord...!" she wanted to object but he raised his hand saying "You need them more than I do, avenge us my child and let everyone who forsaken us perish!"

Satasha bowed "As you please!"

Odin "Now my child lift your chin up you are the last warrior that I grant my blessings to, with God's speed bring Ragnarok to their feet"

Satasha nodded and walked away, the Ravens followed her.

The Ravens gave her a huge advantage against everyone, their presence were kept hidden for too long until she chose to tell Lucifer about them, she thought about telling Keno but the Ravens hated him for some reason, Lucifer being their master as well wasn't a bad idea either, he could use them to communicate with her when needed.

Before she could get her plan straight, Satasha need to help Keno rise in power, now that the east was under his control she had to make him win the rest by force if needed.

Every once in a while either she or The Fallen send attackers raiding small towns and villages here and there, she felt amused by The Fallen's aid, it felt like a dance happening were the lead switches on each move.

While this dance was happening, Tina had organized enough resources for her campaign, the only thing left was meeting with Zeus which she delayed. In fact, she didn't want to meet him at all.

Zeta tried to persuade her that Zeus's aid is essential but she refused stating that she'd rather die than join forces with Zeus again. Ever since she got pregnant with Tatiana, she had been avoiding him like her life depends on it, instead she contacted Athena sending her invite to join forces against Keno.

To her surprise Athena refused to join the upcoming war, she pointed out that was Hera's orders, but the truth was far from that.

Ever since The Fallen was released, Tartarus was unstable, it took team effort to stop them from escaping especially Kronos, but they kept this fact hidden for some time.

Until...

[On a random sunny day at the western shores]

The sky suddenly clouded the sun within the span of five minutes the weather turned from warm sunny day to violent storm causing huge tidal waves to the shores and a huge tornado that destroyed everything along the way.

The news reached everyone, Tartarus has been breached and many escaped, Apollo along with Artemis, Ares, and Athena managed to capture some and kill some.

More than dozen escaped and among them was none other than Gaia.

Satasha was watching the whole thing through the Ravens eyes, she knew exactly who caused this.

Hermes was watching his kin killing each other from far, he noticed the Ravens circulating around the area and knew who they belonged to now, in matter of instant he transmitted to where Satasha was.

At that moment Satasha was in west with Lucifer dealing with the tribal conflict on who would ascend to be the next leader.

...

Satasha was standing in front of a window glaring at the horizon while Lucifer was talking to the consoul.

Hermes approached her hidden by his abilities from the gathering, only Satasha could sense his presence and see him, yet she didn't turn to face him.

She quietly spoke as he kept glaring at the horizon "You caused quite the commotion there! The question is not how but why?"

Hermes stood next to her "Why are you watching me?"

Satasha scoffed "I've been watching Olympus for some time now, but I didn't expect you of all people to do that, you seemed like a loyal subject"

Hermes indifferent "Are you going to tell everyone that I was responsible?"

Satasha "No!"

Hermes doubting "Why?"

Satasha "I may need you in the future" she turned her head to face him "And for that, I'll shift the blame from you"

Hermes confused "You'll take the blame?"

Satasha "Not me, but The Fallen"

Before Hermes could ask, Satasha waved her hand and by that simple gesture he was back to where he came from.

Hermes was baffled by how powerful she was and by The Fallen's release news "This changes everything!" he decided to stay in Olympus for a while.

After the meeting ended Satasha delivered the news to Lucifer.

"How certain are?" he asked

"Have I ever lied to you?" she lied "I could feel it, it was his doing!"

"But why did The Fallen do that?" he was confused "As far as I remember he hated Kronos"

Satasha "Enemy of his enemies is a friend"

Lucifer doubtful "Perhaps!"

They left to inspect the place where the commotion happened and there they met with Apollo and Artemis.

Artemis scoffed "Great! Another headache" she seemed to have deep resentment toward Lucifer.

Lucifer "It has been a while since the last time we met"

Apollo lightened the mood with his warm smile "My lord! Indeed it has been a while!" he glanced at Satasha who stood not far behind "I see you evolved from going to brothels to escorting a lovely lady" he walked past him and held her hand for a kiss "It's a pleasure to see such a beauty in this barren lands" he kissed her knuckle "May I have the pleasure of knowing your name?"

Lucifer was fuming while Satasha was contemplating whether she kills him or humor him.

Lucifer grabbed his arm pulling him away before she decided to end him "Careful now"

Apollo teasing "Are you jealous?"

But before Lucifer answered, Apollo was already on the ground.

Satasha made him fall with one punch, she wiped the hand that he kissed with a handkerchief then threw it on him before walking over him.

Lucifer leaned over his head "I told you to be careful!"

Apollo laid down stunned "What a woman!" he said after few minutes of staring at the sky.

Artemis who was done with his nonsense shook her head.

Lucifer questioned Artemis while Satasha walked around the cliff to search for a clue "How did this happen?"

Artemis "We don't know, whoever did this left no clue, as if he knows how to break the seal unnoticed or he's one of us"

"A traitor?" he suggested

"Perhaps!" she didn't like the idea of doubting her kin.

While Satasha was glaring at the horizon, Apollo appeared behind her wearing the warmest smile "I apologize if I had offended you somehow earlier! I would like to start again" he placed his hand on his heart while slightly lowering his head making his bright gold lashes flatter with the wind "My name is Apollo one of the Olympians"

Satasha stared through her nose at him, he was the same height as her with sculpted body, bright golden curls and uneven hair style which the back was gradually longer than the front. He held a small harp in one arm and wore a thick gold bracelet on the other. His face had soft features that oppose his muscular body, but he was a sight to behold with unmatched beauty.

Satasha crossed her arms as she slightly tilted her head, he did the same, she glanced at him from head to toe before asking "Did you notice that Gaia had escaped unscathed?"

His tender smile immediately dropped to scan the area "How did you know?"

Satasha "I felt it"

"Felt what?" he inquired

Satasha placed her hand on his shoulder then pointed ahead "That"

Apollo's sight dimmed, he was seeing brown halo traces all over "What's that?"

Satasha explained "Her essence" she walked forward, he followed "Where does it lead?"

Satasha pointed to the horizon "West"

Apollo's curiosity grew "Who are you?"

Satasha wore her hood "You can call me Satasha"

Apollo stepped back stunned, the news about her deeds reached Olympus long ago, her infamous reputation proceeds her "You are Ishtar's mad dog?"

Satasha warned "Careful now! I don't want to deform that lovely face of yours"

Apollo excitedly pat her back "I've been dying to see the person behind these rumors! I didn't expect you to be so fine"

Satasha glanced with disgust before walking further away.

"Would you do me the pleasure of taking you to a fancy feast? I would love to know more about you" he followed her as she walked toward Lucifer

"If I go he must come also" she pointed at Lucifer "I am still under his watch"

"Of course!" he was bitter "The more, the merrier"

Satasha chuckled, Apollo was stunned that her cold face knew how to smile, and it was lovely.

Lucifer saw her smile and felt agitated "I see you got along pretty quickly"

Satasha "He invited us to a feast"

Lucifer "Ah food, I am sure you said yes"

Satasha delighted "Indeed and you'll tag along"

Lucifer wanted to refuse but saw the spark in her eyes, he knew she was going to do mischief and he must be there to limit the destruction she was going to make. He sighed and nodded.

Apollo reluctantly accepted inviting Lucifer, but if it meant that his presence was needed for her to come he swallowed his pride and escorted them both to Olympus.

A sudden shiver crawled into her bones, it has been a long time since she was here and this place held lot of bad memories. She had to maintain herself mentally from revealing how terrified she was at the moment, so she held Lucifer's sleeve tugging it as she walked behind him.

She needed his presence so she could get sense of safety as she dwell in there.

Apollo took them to his residence, and as his personality was it was extravagant. Many statues of himself in different positions and many beauties walking in and out of his residence. It seemed that Apollo doesn't believe in doors or walls, instead he had silk curtains separating the outer skirt of his residence where the feast was being held.

"I see you had already prepared the feast!" Lucifer exclaimed

Artemis "His feasts never ends" she sounded annoyed by it.

"How delightful" Satasha remarked

"I am glad that you have accepted my invitation, here" Apollo waved his hand to the left and two beauties showed up "They'll take you to dress up for the feast"

Satasha scanned the gathering, they were wearing little to no clothing, she asked "Is showing skin mandatory for attending" she felt uncomfortable

Apollo smiled warmly "I like to know if my guests has ill intent toward me" he glanced at Lucifer as he said that "But rest assured, I'll have them prepare you a nice dress" he signaled the girls and they nodded.

Satasha and Lucifer followed the girls deep in his residence where white stone walls and marble doors filled the area, each girl lead them to separate rooms so they can change privately.

Satasha wore a sleeveless ivory backless dress that had a long teardrop neck hole that reached her bellybutton, gold belt and long side cut that reached to her pelvis.

"Is that his idea of decency?" she muttered

Uncomfortable as she nervously bit her lip and crossed her arms trying to hide the scar on her chest as the girl was styling her hair. After she finished she gave her a silk shawl to cover herself with "You look amazing my lady! Your beauty shouldn't be hidden, have more confidence in yourself" the girl advised.

Satasha smirked uncomfortably trying to mask her insecurities. The girl applied faint make up on Satasha's face and placed a golden head piece that was in a shape of leaf on her head. Once she finished, Satasha glared at herself in the mirror and remembered when Ishtar did the same to her, like a prize to display. She felt sick and wanted to vanish but she took a deep breath and walked out of the room.

Lucifer who was waiting for her near the door was dazzled by how beautiful she looked his lips parted as he glared at her beauty, but snapped back when he noticed how perplexed she looked.

"Do you want to leave?" he asked quietly as they followed the girls back to the feast.

"No! I need to look around once everything cools down and I need you to cover up my absence" she explained

"What are we looking for here?" he inquired

Satasha "I'll tell you later"

Before they reached the feast he held her arm pulling her closer to whisper "You need to be careful with Apollo, he wants to get laid with you and might even drug you to get what he wants"

Satasha nervous "I see, I'll figure something out"

Lucifer gently shuffled her hair "Try not to kill him"

Satasha scoffed "That might be a hard thing to achieve"

"I see you two are so close" Apollo interrupted, he glared spitefully at Lucifer but his annoyance secede once he saw Satasha, he was taken back by how beautiful she looked in that dress. Every detail about her looks was perfect, she looked like an angel had graced his place with her presence.

He kissed her knuckle praising "I've seen every beautiful place on earth and none of it comes close to how beautiful you look now my lady"

Satasha smiled faintly "You flatter me"

Apollo placed the hand that he kissed gently around his arm as he guide her toward her seat "What would you like to eat first? There are many delights here if you like"

He pulled the chair next to his seat so she could sit on it, then pushed her closer to the table.

Satasha "I am not a picky eater, whatever you'll eat I'll eat"

Apollo sat next to her happily, he picked his favorites on the plate and placed it in front of her, he also fed her with his fork every now and then to try different ones.

All of that happened while Lucifer sat far away from them watching, Apollo had purposely seated him on the far end of the table, he could only watch hatefully from far.

Satasha was rather polite with Apollo, she ate what he presented her and listened to his ramblings with a smile, but deep down she wanted to flip the table and kill everyone starting with him. She merrily chuckled while listening to his jokes, she didn't know what they were because she was zoning out trying to come up with a way to get away from him.

One minute would be enough for her, but being constantly under Apollo's radar was rather unpleasant. She thought about flirting with him and knocking him out when she suggests that he shows her around but another idea crossed her head.

Satasha "I heard that you're an expert in archery!"

Apollo bragged "I am unmatched"

Satasha smirked "Perhaps"

Apollo "You don't believe me?"

Satasha "That's lot of confidence that you have, pity you have bigger shoes to fill"

Apollo annoyed "Who could be better than me?"

Satasha pointed at herself as she chewed on the meat.

Apollo scoffed "I might be delusional but it seems like you're challenging me?"

Satasha "Indeed"

Apollo grinned "Then let's have a bet, if I win then you have to do something for me and if you win then I'd be at your disposal"

Satasha "Sounds reasonable! What's the challenge?"

Apollo got up and presented his hand, she held it and followed him as he escorted her.

Satasha "Where are we going?"

Apollo "You'll see"

He took her to the end of Olympus where clouds embraced the earth "If you can hit the center of the target over there" he pointed ahead "Then you'll win"

Satasha gazed at where he pointed but couldn't see the target "What are the ground rules?"

Apollo "No powers in any shape or form are allowed, and we use my special bow and arrow"

Satasha "What if you tampered with it so only you can shoot?"

Apollo transformed his harp to bow and presented to her "Here give it a try"

Satasha took the bow to admire it, it was heavy but surprisingly easy to maneuvers. He gave her an arrow so she could try it, she strung the bow with ease and sent the arrow flying through the clouds, then bang.

She heard the arrow hitting something wooden far ahead.

"Not bad!" Apollo was impressed

Satasha didn't know if she had hit the target or it was another board "Here you go first" she handed the bow back.

Apollo smirked "Watch and learn" he strung the bow slightly with one hand using his hip as an anchor and sent the arrow ahead without looking ahead as of he had done it million times.

Satasha couldn't see where the arrow had landed but heard another bang, she took the bow back and strung it, closing her eyes and used the estimating distance that she calculated when she heard the second bang as a clue to where it could be, then launched the arrow.

A bang was heard but she didn't know if it was the center or not, she read Apollo's expressions.

He sneered "Brilliant!"

Satasha didn't know if it landed on the center "How far does your eyesight go?" she handed the bow back.

Apollo bragged "As far as that board, yours are not that bad either!"

Satasha snorted "I didn't see it at all"

Apollo arched his brow "What do you mean? It landed perfectly next to my arrow"

Satasha nodded feeling proud by her achievement "Excellent! I must admit you are an excellent archer my lord, your reputation feels inferior to your skill"

Apollo leaned closer "So now you recognized me as a lord?"

Satasha truthfully "You've earned my respect my lord" she bowed placing her hand on her chest holding the shawl from falling.

Apollo lifted her chin with his index "Don't be like the other girls, I like how you treated me as an equal"

Satasha straightened up pushing his hand gently away "Don't flatter yourself! It would take you an eternity to be my equal"

Apollo stepped closer "Arrogant!" he gently adjusted her shawl "All talk and no show"

Satasha "I don't need to prove myself to you my lord"

Apollo's hand slowly moved from her shoulder to her neck and rested under her chin as he raised her face up glaring at her lips "Since you've admitted your defeat, then I believe you owe me something"

Satasha "And what are you going to ask from me?"

Apollo caressed her lips with his thumb while his eyes blinking fast, he fell silent for a minute before saying "Dance with me" he stepped back and offered his hand.

Satasha confused "But there are no music!"

Apollo smiled warmly and with a snap his bow returned to a harp that floats on its own and playing a melody.

Astonished Satasha gasped with a chuckle, she took his hand and danced with him to the melody under the crescent.

It felt poetic like two lovers sharing their first dance beneath the moonlight.

"If only the moon was full then it would be perfect" she muttered

Apollo scoffed "Didn't know you are romantic my fair lady!"

Satasha smiled faintly as she followed his lead "Is this how you usually flirt with the other women?"

Apollo "This is explicitly for you"

Satasha scoffed "Liar!"

Apollo placed his hand around her waist gently lowering her "Believe what you want to believe, I genuinely want more of this if possible" he then straightened her up while holding her closer to him, his gaze kept falling back from her eyes to her lips.

Satasha "I don't think that could be done"

Apollo stopped dancing as he held her closer "Are you rejecting me?"

Satasha tilted her head slightly as she reasoned "You just like the thrill that comes from courting me and you feel intrigued by the person behind the rumors"

Apollo admitted "Can you blame me? Adding your looks is the cherry on top. You are too perfect to be true, there must be a catch"

Satasha giggled as she pushed him away "You said yourself earlier today, I am a mad dog"

Apollo smirked "You bite?" his eyes were mischievous

Satasha humored "I kill" she patted on his shoulder before walking away.

Before she walked he pulled her closer saying "We haven't finished our dance yet!" he held one hand while wrapping the other around her waist.

Satasha "And when does this dance ends?"

Apollo smiled warmly but didn't answer, he continued dancing with her contently.

Satasha didn't know now how she could shake him off so she could search the place and felt like he might've figured her true intentions and deliberately stalled her.

"After the dance can you show me around? I heard that there's a wonderful garden here"

Apollo smiled then whispered "So that's what Lucifer ordered you to do! He wants to know if one of us was responsible for the commotion" he glared at her face trying to read through her cold expression.

Satasha smiled faintly, she placed her chin on his shoulder delighted.

"What's so funny?" he asked

Satasha pulled away pushing his hands from her back gently with a warm smile, she glanced at his puzzled expression and flicked his forehead.

At first Apollo didn't know what was that for but soon he found out when he lost his balance and fell on the ground unconscious. Satasha covered him with the shawl and shuffled his hair saying "I admit that I've misjudged you, you have both the looks and brains" then she walked away leaving him unconscious on the ground.

...

Using her ability to hide her presence she went to the white palace to investigate. Carefully she went to where Zeus usually dwell, the garden.

Satasha was convinced that he might have escaped and took Zeus's identity as he did in the future, to her surprise Zeus was still himself.

Satasha then searched the palace for any anomaly but everything seemed normal. She couldn't figure out why Hermes did what he did, then she entered Hera's room.

Satasha stopped at the doorway shocked by what she had witnessed. She sighed as she closed the door "Why are you here?" she asked the figure in front of her.

"You make it sound like we are acquaintances!" a man's voice answered

Satasha walked towards him, he sat next to liquor table by the balcony, she poured a drink for herself and sat next to him.

The man was none other than The Fallen, and he was baffled by her audacity.

Satasha feeling refreshed after drinking the wine "Did you kill her?" she asked

The Fallen poured himself more wine "Probably!" he took a sip then asked "Aren't you going to fight or try to kill me?"

Satasha sarcastically "Why? You bored?"

The Fallen "Kinda!"

Satasha poured more for herself "I have to disappoint you this time, forgive me"

The Fallen "Why the sudden change?"

Satasha "Having you as Hera kinda fit into my plan"

The Fallen chuckled "You want this war to happen?"

Satasha nodded "You saved me some time and effort with this, I appreciate that"

The Fallen "One might say that we're working together! Why you want the war to happen?"

Satasha leaned closer as if she was sharing a secret "They want me to do it"

The Fallen confused "They?"

Satasha pointed up.

"You're bluffing!" he argued "They contacted you?"

Satasha nodded.

The Fallen denied "And why do they want the war to happen?"

Satasha shrugged.

The Fallen didn't believe anything, he shook his head disappointed.

Satasha chugging the wine "Believe it or not, it's up to you. It's a shame that we are enemies, we would've been unstoppable if you hadn't betrayed me first!"

The Fallen scoffed "You are the one who betrayed me first! I would never forgive the disrespect"

Satasha scolded "Boo hoo! Grow up! Just because things didn't end up as you want doesn't make me the villain in your story"

The Fallen arched his brows "Change your attitude before I cut that tongue of yours!"

Satasha was drunk she snared "Ha!" then walked away, when she reached for the door she said "Find a way to get this war started soon, I need to fight with you in front of everyone"

The Fallen "Why?"

Satasha shrugged and pointed up "That's the orders" then left
