Ficool

The Precocious Red Uruz

Age 0:

A crying baby could be heard all throughout the hospital, it was to be expected, for this baby had been born only moments ago. Nevertheless, the parents didn't know how to handle their new born son's frantic crying.

"Settle down little one, there is no need to cry. Afterall this world will be in the palm of your hands." A voice came from the entrance of the delivery room.

The boy's father turned around and positioned his hulking frame right in front of the stranger. "This isn't a public event, you have no right to be here." The father had half a mind to beat the stranger if he didn't leave immediately. But the stranger remained undaunted.

"I'm sure the responsibilities of being a father have made you quite sensitive to perceived threats. Well you might just be a hothead." The stranger giggled after saying this. At seeing the father about to lose what little patience he had, the stranger continued to explain himself.

"Your child can only benefit from my assistance, first of all if you hadn't noticed I'm an elf..." "And I don't care." Growled the father. The elf tired of this exchange, simply revealed who he was.

"My name is Gregory Ozymandias Quinto."

"James don't you dare lay a hand on that man!!!" The mother screamed, realizing who the man was.

" Alice you know this string bean?" James asked not knowing who he was insulting.

"Yes, I do moron. Well I've heard of him. He's the saint of the god of determination and knowledge." Alice hissed, tired of her husband's uncouth behavior.

"That's true, but I'd rather you remember that I'm your ancestor" Gregory was visibly saddened by her omission of this fact. "That red hair of yours is proof of our relation, after all."

"You don't have red hair from what I see sir." James had a more respectful tone, but Gregory already thought of him as a caveman from their first exchange, and nothing would change this.

"Well, I might not have red hair but my sister Clara did." Gregory added. "I'm sure you've heard of me young Alice, so what's with this treatment." Gregory disliked pointless conversation so this continuous exchange was boring him to no end.

"I'm so sorry Lord Quinto, please bless this child." James was still untrusting of the saint, but he knew better than to ignore what his wife said, especially when it came to her child.

"You really do take after my sister Alice, red hair and smart, your grand uncle many generations over is quite pleased." Alice smiled at Gregory's compliment, partly because she felt like he might pout if she didn't.

"But to the main purpose of today..." Gregory said in a more serious tone. " I'm here because of the child. Many years ago, after I had just become a saint, I promised my sister that I would bless her descendants, but as both of you might know, a blessing requires the blessed to be compatible to the god that the saint serves." Pausing, Gregory came up to the newborn and continued. "For the first time in a long while, a worthy descendant has been born."

"Well you certainly know how to make someone feel inadequate." Alice said while pouting. "Please don't take it like that Alice!!" Gregory felt his heart break at her words.

"There have been many members of the Alfwar family, especially in your direct bloodline that have been born with talent, some geniuses even; you and your daughter are evidence to this fact." At seeing Alice smile again, Gregory felt relief and continued. "All of Clara's descendants are blessed just from the fact that they share blood with me, but the blessing this child will receive, I can only produce once." Gregory held out a finger to the baby, becoming surprised when the newborn managed to hold onto his finger.

"What blessing would that be? I've never heard of anything like that." Alice was overwhelmed by what was happening, her voice showed signs of this.

"well..." Gregory began and after thinking of a way to explain the situation he continued. "The average member of the Alfwar family has the blessing from the saint... myself. It's a strong enough blessing on it's own that will lead to a successful life, but for this boy, I will give a direct blessing from the god I serve... he might as well be a saint himself." Both parents just looked at him, being left without words to express what they were feeling.

"This boy is just that special, I've waited for this moment for so long." Gregory looked down at the boy, hopeful for the future after what felt like endless years of boredom. "Ok, its time to begin, what is this boy's full name?, and since I know you're both nobles, tell me what lands you rule."

"His name is Red Uruz Alfwar, I rule the city of Uruz." James proudly said. "Incredible." Gregory exclaimed. "What is it, is it the boy?" James asked with a hint of concern. "No, I'm just surprised humans let a gorilla rule over an entire city." James was visibly shocked when Gregory said this, but Gregory still recalled his earlier treatment.

"Under the authority and request of the god of determination and knowledge, I bless this boy, Red Uruz Alfwar heir to the city of Uruz!!!" Gregory bellowed, pausing to regain breath for the rest of the chant, he put his palm on Red's chest. "May he gain the blessing of the great Usval, and may he live a life worthy of this blessing!!!" A golden light was emitted from Gregory's palm, which went on to envelop the entire body of the infant Red. After a few moments, the light subsided, and all that was heard was silence. The infant Red smiled, unaware of what he had just received. Gregory was visibly tired after this, after sitting he said: "This boy is going to be a monster..."

"What does that mean?" Asked Alice, unaware that between men this was often used as a compliment.

"Well Alice, Red almost drained me of all my mana, a newborn child. Had I decided to bless him later in his life he might have killed me." After letting out a chuckle he continued. "He is quite simply going to be one of the strongest to ever be." Alice was pleased to hear this, but James was ecstatic to hear that his son would be strong.

"I do have a warning for you two however." Gregory said in a serious tone. The parents both looked at him, James especially wondered what this was about.

"I'm not the only saint in the world, and well... just in this country, there are three others who have received the blessing of a god." Gregory stood up and walked to the entrance of the room. "I'm sure that Red won't have a problem dealing with anything that attacks him, but... let's just say that if anything could become a problem, it would be one of these children."

"I'm friends with one of the mother's of these children." Alice smiled while saying this, because she had already heard about the other three children. Her friend Sybil had mothered one of the blessed three as they had been called a year ago. "If their mother's are anything like Sybil, I'm sure he'll be fine." "Thank you, for blessing this child Grand Uncle!" Gregory let out tears of happiness, seemingly blissful from being called grand uncle. "Don't be a stranger, I'm sure the family would like to see you more than once every five hundred years." And at these words a sense of guilt came crashing through Gregory.

"I'll make sure to visit sooner than that, my niece." Gregory left the hospital, shortly after that wondering how much of a monster Red would turn out to be. "I'm sure he'll beat the crap out of the other blessed!!!" He roared, gaining the attention of everyone around him.

Age 6:

"Mom, I broke the wall!" Said a dumbfounded Red.

"What do you mean you broke a wall!?" Alice exasperatedly said while looking at a hole that was once a wall in their manor. "That doesn't just happen, what did you do?"

"Well, Gray told me that he was stronger than me so I just showed him that he can't compare to me." Red had Pride in his voice. "I just didn't think that the wall would break so easily mom." Red said this while being completely serious.

"Red, how many times do I have to tell you that you are too strong to be using your mana carelessly, and your brother is only four years old, as the oldest you should know better than to be blasting down the walls of our home, your father is going to be furious!!" Alice said this in a harsh tone, she knew that she would be the one to have to listen to her husband complain about her son's antics. Red knew that his father had a temper so he decided to run away. "It's only going to be worse for you mister!" Alice said while being visibly annoyed.

"He broke something else?!?!" Asked a young girl. The girl was the first child of James and Alice, as well as Red's older sister. "Yes Auburn, you know how difficult your younger brother can be."

This wasn't the first time Red had done something like this. Auburn looked at the missing wall with a feeling of envy. "How can he be stronger than me when he's only six and I'm nine." Auburn had realized a long time ago that Red was capable of producing more mana than her, but she had yet to get over the jealousy this caused her. "Your brother is special."

Alice said this every time her daughter asked something along these lines. "You always say that mom." Auburn said as she crawled back up to her room. "I just wish he wasn't so much like your father, I'm worried that between the two of them the manor might simply collapse." Auburn giggled at this, she could also imagine that happening.

Age 12:

Red stares silently at a burned temple; next to him an older boy of around 16 years old tries to keep a cold expression. This is in order to not rattle the young boy next to him, but also because he can feel the tears building up between his facade.

"There's no way they just died, they must've been kidnapped or sealed." Red said this with tears in his eyes. "You know that they weren't weaklings who would have just let that bastard kill them like that." At the older boy's silence, Red just called his name. "Sterling?"

"You don't know what that monster is capable of Red." Sterling said with pain in his voice. "He was stronger than our master, the fire he produced was hot enough to turn someone to ashes." The pain in his voice disappeared after he controlled himself a bit better.

"No, I refuse to believe it, we have to follow that bastard and..." Red felt a smack hit his face suddenly. "We don't know where he is or if we could even beat him even if we teamed up, don't be a damn fool." Sterling knew that the fire wizard was too powerful to underestimate. "I'm sorry about your sister, but getting yourself killed by that asshole won't bring her back." Sterling's countenance was about to break.

"Shut up, you bastard!!" Red launched at Sterling fists fully drawn.

Age 16:

Red awakes screaming, recalling the haunting incident from four years ago. He had become different in the four years since, aloof and irresponsible, he had decided to live however he wanted. His older sister was presumed dead; Red having always been unconvinced of this had continued studying seals and prison spells ever since. He now had another younger brother and sister apart from Gray. They were much younger than him, so he felt a great need to protect them.

"Damn it, it's my birthday today!" Red recalled. He hated celebrating his birthdays almost as much as he hated being bored, so he had been dreading this date all month. "I'm getting out of here." After finishing his statement, he had put on some nice fitting clothes and left through his bedroom window.
