NARA
Hours passed while I waited for Jodi's return.
Perhaps it was a tad foolish of me to stay and wait for her like this but I had no other option. I wasn't sure where she went since she stormed out of the room earlier but I knew she couldn't be working. I think Kaedyr has been easing off on the workload on my people these past few days.
I am not stupid enough to think he is doing that out of genuine kindness of his heart. He is only doing it so everyone gets settled into the new living arrangement before they're all hauled back to work and reminded that they are slaves and freedom is but a fool's dream.
Even if my people no longer want to dream of freedom, that doesn't mean I have to keep fighting for them. It doesn't matter if Jodi now thinks that I somehow orchestrated all this because I wanted to be with Kaedyr. I almost laughed at the thought because how?
