The Sand and Stone ninja had indeed sent people.
But due to their geographical location, their countries were farther away, so they were slower. They were intercepted by Konoha ninja on the way.
The second wave of Jonin sent by Hiruzen Sarutobi successfully stopped the Sand and Stone at the border of the Land of Fire, preventing them from passing.
The two sides were in a standoff at the border. Although the atmosphere was tense, no real conflict broke out.
Each village had less than a hundred Jonin-level combatants, and they needed them for S-rank missions. They wouldn't be sacrificed lightly.
It was only because An Yan was absolutely confident that he had gone for the kill against the Mist and Cloud. Normally, when Jonin from different sides met, they would just probe each other's strength. If they were evenly matched, they would both retreat.
An Yan, Sakumo, and the other ANBU members successfully returned to Konoha, bringing with them a large number of Uzumaki clansmen.

The Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, and the First Hokage's widow, Mito Uzumaki, were all present. The heads of all the major Konoha clans were also there. After An Yan recounted the mission as ordered by the Third, everyone had a different expression.
Although the ANBU squad was full of elites, to have wiped out the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and their subordinates, a total of thirty-four elite Jonin, was unbelievable. Was the ANBU really that strong?
They were skeptical, but the seven sealed ninja swords were there, along with a pile of scrolls containing the bodies. An Yan was clearly not lying.
And then to have wiped out seventeen elite Cloud Jonin disguised as Stone ninja... if the ANBU were really that strong, Konoha could consider unifying the ninja world.
And An Yan had brought back the entire population of the Uzumaki clan. What kind of technique was that? The clan heads were filled with suspicion. Had An Yan developed some strange new jutsu? Mass teleportation? Or something else?
But the immediate problem was, now that the people were here, how to accommodate them. The ninja clans in Konoha had their own territories and industries. No matter where the village allocated land for the Uzumaki, other clans would suffer some losses.
Konoha had been established for over thirty years, and all the good spots were taken, whether in terms of living environment or commercial resources. For example, the Yamanaka, Nara, and Akimichi clans were in the restaurant, medicine, and flower industries. It was not appropriate for other clans to interfere.
Even Tobirama couldn't just tell the other clans to make sacrifices and move.
And Hiruzen had always maintained the image of a good guy; he wouldn't be the one to do something so unpopular.
Unconsciously, all eyes turned to Danzo Shimura.
Danzo enjoyed this feeling of being the center of attention. He went along with their wishes and spoke up. "It's actually quite easy to accommodate the Uzumaki clan. There's a lot of empty land on the outskirts of the village. We can just settle them there. And if there's ever an enemy invasion..."
Before Danzo could finish, Tobirama interrupted.
"The Uzumaki clan has helped Konoha greatly in the past. We can't just allocate them land like that. The Senju clan doesn't have many people left anyway. Let the Uzumaki live in the Senju compound. It's settled. This is also for the good of the village."
Tobirama's command was still very effective, especially when it didn't harm their own interests.
Hiruzen nodded. "Let's do as Teacher says."
Koharu Utatane also offered her opinion. "For the Uzumaki to fully integrate into the village, they need to be educated in the Will of Fire. We should register all the school-aged children and arrange for them to attend the academy."
The Konoha higher-ups quickly drafted a document to handle all aspects of the Uzumaki's settlement.
An Yan was bored out of his mind. If he hadn't become the teacher of the Wood Style class a few years ago, he would never have had to attend such a meeting. He was now a member of the Konoha high command. Although he was just an ordinary Jonin on the surface, he represented the interests of the Senju clan, and now perhaps the Uzumaki clan as well.
After the discussion was over, the meeting was finally adjourned.
A few ANBU followed An Yan, Tobirama, and Mito to the Senju compound.
The Uzumaki clan members had not yet been released. The ANBU were there to register them. After all, a thousand people suddenly entering the village needed to be registered. It wouldn't be good if they were arrested as spies by the Military Police Force.
Under everyone's watchful eyes, An Yan planted his staff on the ground, and the Uzumaki clansmen in the domain space were released.
"Finally out! It was so hot in there!"
"Mom, I'm thirsty."
"This is the Senju compound, right? We're back here again."
The crowd was a noisy mess. An Yan felt a headache coming on and wanted to slip away, but Tobirama grabbed his sleeve.
Seeing Tobirama's faint smile, An Yan cleared his throat. "Lord Tobirama, do you have any instructions?"
Tobirama held out his hand. "Nice staff. Let me borrow it for a couple of days."
An Yan obediently nodded, grabbed the red staff from thin air, and respectfully handed it to him.
Tobirama took the ordinary-looking staff, examined it, and then asked, "What did your ancestors use this for?"
An Yan coughed and spouted some nonsense. "I don't know what my ancestors used it for. It was originally a broom in my house. But one day the broom head broke, and when I was changing it, I noticed this thing was a bit unusual, so I kept it for research."
Tobirama looked An Yan up and down again, which made him a little nervous, wondering what he was up to.
Tobirama spoke again. "I hear you want to marry our Tsunade?"
An Yan nodded awkwardly. "Yes, that's right."
Tobirama nodded. "Very well. I approve."
So you didn't approve before?
An Yan instinctively wanted to roll his eyes but managed to stop himself.
Tobirama continued, "You're both adults now. You should get married. Otherwise..."
He didn't finish, but he glanced at the bustling Uzumaki clan members in the compound. An Yan immediately understood.
The Senju and Uzumaki had a long history of intermarriage. Now that the Uzumaki had just joined Konoha, the best way to integrate was through marriage.
And since Nawaki was still young, and Tsunade was of marriageable age, she could easily be used in a political marriage.
In that case, all his efforts to rescue the Uzumaki clan would have been for nothing.
