An Yan, Orochimaru, and Hiruko received their Jonin flak jackets with gloomy expressions.
Nearby, Tobirama Senju thoughtfully had their experiment data prepared for them, as if afraid they might accidentally take some lab equipment with them.
An Yan's eyelid twitched. It seems Lord Tobirama is really desperate to see us go.
The three of them were speechless. They silently packed their things and left.
"It's all your fault! You two spend so much money every month, and now it's all gone!" An Yan immediately started blaming them as soon as they were out the door.
Hiruko looked aggrieved. "What does it have to do with me? My experiment materials are all readily available. I only use a few White Zetsu a month. It doesn't cost much."
Orochimaru also looked innocent. "That's right. My Living Corpse Reincarnation only requires a few White Zetsu a month. How is that expensive?"
An Yan gave them a sideways glance. "You two have some nerve. Are you ignoring all the other materials used in your experiments? Those gene-tuning potions are free? One vial costs a hundred thousand ryo, and how many do you two use a day?"
Hiruko cleared his throat. "The raw material for those potions is just White Zetsu. We're producing and consuming them ourselves. That doesn't count as spending."
An Yan facepalmed. The gene-tuning potion was a byproduct of his failed attempt to develop a gene optimization liquid. He had originally wanted to extract the genetic traits of White Zetsu to enhance a ninja's physical abilities, but the project failed, leaving only this potion. All it did was maximize a White Zetsu's sensitivity to chakra, which was useless for anything else but made it an excellent material for experiments.
"Do you have any idea what materials are needed to synthesize this potion? I'm really getting dragged down by you two this time. I don't care. You two figure out how to fund my next experiments."
An Yan crossed his arms, looking at them unhappily.
Orochimaru raised his hands in surrender. "Don't, An Yan. I don't even know who to ask for funding for my own experiments. I don't have any money to give you."
Hiruko was unfazed. "Me neither."
An Yan sighed helplessly. Fortunately, he had finished his main research projects for the past few years and didn't have any new ones at the moment. Otherwise, he would have had to go begging Tsunade for help.
"What are you two going to do now?"
Orochimaru looked worried. "I need to find a big sponsor first. Teacher Sarutobi probably won't fund my research. Who should I ask?"
Hiruko was fearless. "To find a sponsor, you should go to Teacher Danzo. Root has been growing stronger these years and seems to have a lot of money. I'm sure we can get a lot of funding from him."
An Yan was speechless. "You two, don't play with fire. With Danzo's personality, he'll get what's coming to him sooner or later. The Third Hokage is protecting him now, but just wait until the Fourth comes along. He'll be finished. If you get too involved with him now, you might get taken down with him."
Orochimaru fell into thought. Who else is a big sponsor? Maybe I should ask Kagami Uchiha? Ever since An Yan had cured his nearsightedness, the two had become quite close, and Orochimaru had also gotten to know him.
Hiruko was still fearless. "Who knows who the Fourth Hokage will be? If it's An Yan, he'll probably protect me. If it's someone else, I don't care. I'll surrender."

An Yan turned and rolled his eyes at him. "That's my family heirloom. Don't even think about it."
Hiruko rubbed his hands together sheepishly. "I was just wondering if I should apply for White Zetsu from the R&D department or just get them from you directly."
An Yan felt his fists clench. "Hiruko, you've gotten more and more shameless over the years."
"Exactly," Orochimaru chimed in. "An Yan's little workshop has a limited output. You should just apply to the R&D department, Hiruko. We've already achieved mass production. I can take over An Yan's supply of White Zetsu."
Hearing this, Hiruko flew into a rage and threw a punch.
"You son of a..."
Orochimaru smoothly dodged the attack, winked at An Yan, and led Hiruko away.
The wink gave An Yan goosebumps. He suddenly remembered that Orochimaru would later become "Auntie Snake." Could it be that after all this time together, he's developed feelings for me?
As An Yan was rubbing the goosebumps off his arms, a beautiful figure appeared from behind and gently patted his shoulder.
"An Yan, congratulations on becoming a Jonin of Konoha."
An Yan turned around. Before him stood the youthful, vibrant, and beautiful Tsunade.
The girl next door had grown up. Her graceful figure made An Yan blush slightly.
Tsunade saw his blush, glanced down at her own chest, and a slight smile touched her lips.
Her years of studying medical ninjutsu had not been in vain. After accidentally learning that An Yan also liked "big," she had been subtly stimulating certain acupoints with her Yang Release chakra. Her impressive figure was a natural result.
Jiraiya was filled with regret. If he had known Tsunade would grow up to be so beautiful and well-endowed, he wouldn't have called her a "flat-chested washboard" all those years ago. Now it was too late to pursue her.

The two of them walked and laughed, eventually reaching the Hokage Rock.

Tsunade took a deep breath. "An Yan, close your eyes."
An Yan was slightly taken aback but did as he was told.
What's going on? Are we going to kiss? I'm so excited.
As he waited in anticipation, Tsunade held his head, gently pulled it down, and kissed him lightly on the forehead. Then, she placed something cool around his neck.
An Yan opened his eyes in surprise.
