Chapter 8 - How to Move Boxes Like a Pro – Live with Nicky

Nicky pulled a pair of worn leather gloves from her cargo pants pocket and held them up to the camera like a instructor starting a tutorial. "Rule number one: always wear gloves."

"Box edges are sharp. Some packages are greasy or covered in packing peanuts dust. You don't want cuts or allergic reactions. Get gloves that fit snug—like these—so you don't lose your grip and drop a box on your foot."

As she spoke, she slid the gloves back on, tightening the Velcro straps with practiced ease. Then she gestured toward a stack of boxes. "There are two main ways to carry packages: shoulder-carry for anything over 50 pounds, and two-arm hold for lighter stuff. But whatever you do, protect yourself. Use a towel on your shoulder so the edges don't dig in. Wear a back brace if you're doing this long-term—your lower back will thank you."

"But the real key," she said, crouching down and gripping a box labeled "45lb," "is how you lift. Don't just use your arms. Engage your core. Use your legs and the momentum when you stand." She lifted the box smoothly. "And keep your head up. You don't want to walk into a shelf because the box blocked your view—especially in a tight space like this."

She turned and grinned at Carlos. "Carlos, show everyone how it's done. Let 'em see a real pro."

Carlos, who'd been hanging back slightly, straightened up immediately. In one fluid motion, he hoisted a large box, leveraged his hip, and settled it comfortably on his shoulder. He walked steadily toward the shelves, the camera capturing his relaxed posture and straight back.

[I can't believe I just watched a whole tutorial on moving boxes 😂]

[Is Nicky the first streamer to ever teach delivery hacks? So relatable.]

[We're moving next week and I was stressing about the heavy stuff—this is perfect!]

[Isn't this staged? Wasn't she the one who couldn't open a water bottle before?]

Nicky saw the skeptical comments but didn't engage. Instead, she lifted two mid-sized boxes and headed toward the staircase. "Don't underestimate delivery work. There's a technique to everything. And hey—if you don't hire us, how do we make a living? Pay us fairly and on time. That's what matters."

As she climbed the stairs, she kept "selling" the job with a lighthearted tone: "Can't sleep? Try moving boxes all day—you'll crash as soon as you hit the pillow. Trying to lose weight? One hour of this burns more calories than half an hour of running. And if the big boxes are too much, start small. You can't just quit because something's hard."

[LMAO she really makes it sound appealing 😂 Lowkey wanna try it now]

[Okay I'm a fan now. She's not pretending—and she gave Carlos his moment. Way better than those fake-nice influencers.]

[Not even a fan, but mad respect. My dad's a delivery driver—she's showing people what this job is really like.]

The eighteen boxes were delivered faster than anyone expected. Nicky and Carlos leaned against a wall in the warehouse, each holding an ice-cold soda. Sweat gleamed on their faces, but they were both smiling.

"That's it for today's delivery stream," Nicky said casually, waving at the camera. "I'll keep working to pay off this debt. Maybe I'll wash dishes at a diner. Maybe I'll pick fruit on a farm. I'll stream when I can—no set schedule. We'll see when we see each other next."

She turned the camera toward Carlos. "Anything you wanna say to the family?"

Carlos took the phone, a warm, proud smile spreading across his face. "Maria, Grandpa made good money today. I'll get you those picture books you wanted next week. And mijo—don't worry about me. I'm strong. I'm doing just fine."

The chat flooded with "🥺" and "So wholesome" as viewers promised to hire Carlos for future moves. Nicky watched, a softness in her eyes. She wasn't just paying off her own debt—maybe, just maybe, she was also helping hardworking people like Carlos be seen.

Before ending the stream, she glanced at the system notification:

*Heat Value: 80,000. Exchangeable: 5 days lifespan + $2,000 USD.*

A faint smile touched her lips. This path was tough—but step by step, she was moving forward.
