Chapter 1 - 1-The Echo of Screams

Year 2037.

The city of Ashenport—once alive with neon lights and crowded markets—now stands in ruins. Skyscrapers look like broken teeth piercing the gray sky. Windows are hollow, streets empty except for shattered glass and graffiti that whispers warnings nobody stayed to read.

Graffiti on a crumbling wall:

"THEY MADE US. THEY LEFT US."

Scene 1 – The Scream

Night. A pale moon filters through the smoke-filled sky.

Kael walks alone, his breath clouding in the cold air. His backpack is slung over one shoulder, the straps frayed. He tries to act normal—like it's just another walk home—but the silence is so heavy it presses on his chest.

Then—

A child's scream pierces the night.

Kael freezes. His heart slams against his ribs.

Kael (thinking, shaky):

"What the hell was that? A kid? Here?"

His breathing quickens. His palms sweat. Every instinct screams at him to run.

But his legs don't move. His eyes flick toward the sound, drawn against his will.

Kael (muttering under breath):

"Damn it… why does it sound just like back then…"

(He grips his chest—the weight of a buried memory pressing hard. )

Scene 2 – The Monster

Kael steps forward, one shaky step at a time. The scream echoes again, weaker this time.

He turns a corner—

And there it is.

A monster, hunched over, its skin torn and stretched like failed stitches. Tubes dangle from its back like veins ripped out. Its eyes flicker—one human, one glowing white.

The child is on the ground, barely moving.

Kael's throat goes dry. His body trembles.

Kael (whispering, panicked):

"…no… no way… this can't be real…"

The monster twitches, muttering in a broken voice, words shattered like glass:

Monster (glitching speech):

"…help… me… kill…me…"

Kael stumbles back, steps crunching glass. The monster's head jerks toward him.

Kael (thinking):

"Why… why me? Why now?"

Scene 3 – The Observer

From the shadows of a ruined balcony above, Lyra watches silently. Her eyes track every movement of the creature, calculating.

Lyra (murmuring to herself):

"…unstable… no full control… whoever created you rushed the experiment…"

She notices Kael—paralyzed, caught between fear and guilt.

Lyra (thinking):

"He's just a boy. No training. No weapon. If he tries to save that kid… he'll die."

Scene 4 – The Choice

Kael's legs shake. The monster steps closer, dragging its limbs like broken machinery. The child's weak cry cuts through the air.

Kael presses his hand against his chest, eyes wide with terror.

Kael (whispering to himself, voice cracking):

"…don't do it… you'll die just like last time…"

But his feet move forward anyway.

Kael (gritting teeth):

"Why the hell am I… always like this?!"

Scene 5 – Collision

The monster charges. Kael pushes the child aside at the last second, crashing to the ground himself. The impact knocks the air out of him.

The creature looms, snarling, drool sizzling as it hits the ground. Its voice distorts again:

Monster (guttural):

"…you… name us monsters… but… who… made us…?"

The creature raises its claws—

And suddenly, steel wires whip through the air, slicing the ground between Kael and the monster.

Scene 6 – Lyra Appears

Lyra lands in front of Kael, coat fluttering in the night wind. Her eyes lock on the monster.

Lyra (calm, sharp):

"Back away. You're not ready for this."

Kael, still gasping, stares at her.

Kael:

"W-who the hell are you?!"

Lyra doesn't answer. She tightens her grip on the steel wires that glow faintly with energy.

Monster (snarling):

"…traitors… all… traitors…"

It lunges.

Scene 7 – The Fight

The monster swipes—Lyra sidesteps with surgical precision, wires wrapping its arm. With a sharp pull, she severs tendons, making the limb hang uselessly.

Kael watches in shock. Every movement of hers is controlled, efficient, merciless.

Kael (thinking):

"…she's not human… no way a normal person can move like that…"

The monster thrashes, breaking free, roaring:

Monster (screeching):

"…they… promised… freedom…"

Lyra's eyes flicker—just for a second, something human in them.

Lyra (cold):

"They lied to all of us."

She tightens the wires. The monster collapses. Its last words echo brokenly—half curse, half plea:

Monster (fading):

"…who… is… the real… monster…"

Scene 8 – Aftermath

Kael trembles, staring at the corpse. His breathing ragged, heart racing.

Kael (to himself):

"…what… what the hell was that thing?"

Lyra turns to him, her expression unreadable. She hands him a small card—black, embossed with a silver eclipse.

Lyra (firm, low voice):

"When the time comes, you'll need answers. Find me."

She walks away into the shadows.

Kael looks down at the card in his shaking hand. His reflection stares back at him in a broken shard of glass nearby—eyes wide, scared, and carrying the weight of something he doesn't yet understand.

The child clings to him, silently crying. Kael doesn't know what to say.

Kael (thinking, broken whisper):

"…I couldn't save them back then… but maybe…"

He swallows hard, staring at the card again.

The camera pulls back. The graffiti on the wall looms large behind them:

"WE ARE NOT MONSTERS. WE ARE MADE."

Fade to black.
