Chapter 13 - Zara Mother - Gabby The Seer

Zara's POV

I felt a chill run down my spine. The seer? Why was she here now? And what was so urgent that she had to come all this way?

"The seer?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady. "She's here to see me?"

"Yes, Alpha," the servant replied. "She insists it's urgent."

"Take me to her," I ordered, not wasting another second.

We hurried through the castle, my mind spinning with questions. Why was the seer here? What did she know? What did I need to hear? My instincts were screaming that something was wrong, and I needed answers.

When we reached my chambers, the door was already open. A figure stood in the doorway, shrouded in mystery and authority. Her cloak was dark, almost blending with the shadows, and her face was obscured by a hood, but I could see her eyes, sharp, knowing, full of secrets.

As the door shut behind her, I couldn't help but feel a presence in the room, like something ancient and powerful. The air thickened as she slowly lifted her hood.

And then I saw her.

The woman before me was older than I had imagined, but her eyes, those eyes. They were familiar. The way she looked at me made my heart skip a beat.

"Mother?"

I gasped, the word slipping from my lips before I could stop it.

Her lips twitched slightly, a fleeting emotion crossing her face. "You remember," she said softly. "You remember me."

I stared at her, still in shock. "How... How are you here?"

"You called for me," she said. "And I came. There is no turning back, Zara."

Gabby The Seer's POV

I stood in the dim light, my gaze fixed on the young woman before me. My daughter. Zara. It had been over twenty years since I last laid eyes on her. She had grown into such a strong and powerful woman, just like me. I had watched her from the shadows, feeling her presence, feeling the pull of destiny as it wrapped around her, tightening with every passing year.

I remember when she was little, so innocent, so pure. I had held her close, whispered words of power into her ear, and dedicated her to the gods of the Great Moon. The wolves revered the Great Moon, the deity that controlled the tides, the seasons, and the fates of all wolves. The Great Moon, the goddess of the hunt, of fate. She was the one who had blessed Zara with this power and ambition .

She had marked her even then, when she was just a child. I knew from the start that Zara would be the one to lead.

But I also knew that her journey would be a hard one. And that it would be one filled with pain. I had watched her grow from afar, unable to protect her. But today... Today, she was ready.

She was meant to rule, meant to lead, meant to be Alpha. I had always known it.

I stepped forward, my movements slow and deliberate. I could sense her confusion. It was in her eyes. The same fire. The same spirit.

"Zara," I said, my voice like a whisper, but sharp with authority. "It's time."

She stiffened, her eyes narrowing at the sound of my voice.

"Mother, I don't understand," she said, her voice shaking. "What's happening? Why are you here now?"

Her gaze softened, but her expression remained unreadable. "The time has come for you to know the truth," I said, my voice low and steady. "The future of this pack, and the child you seek, depends on what you do next."

Kara's POV

I awoke to the soft sounds of morning, the rays of the sun streaming through the window. My eyes fluttered open, and I saw Hilda still lying beside me, peacefully sleeping. At least I have this moment of peace.

I carefully moved to rise, but before I could, I heard the door creak open. I looked up to see the young man standing in the doorway, a soft smile on his face.

"Good morning," he said, his voice warm. "How was your night, Kara?"

I smiled slightly, rubbing my eyes. "It was fine, better than I expected," I said, trying to hide the unease I felt. "Thank you for everything."

He nodded. "I'm glad. It's good to see you both finally resting."

Just as I was about to get up, one of the maids entered, holding a bundle of clean clothing. She walked over and handed it to me. "For you and the baby, Lady Kara. New clothes for your comfort."

"Thank you," I said, taking the bundle from her. She bowed and left quietly, closing the door behind her.

The young man lingered for a moment longer, looking at me. "Is there anything else you need, Kara?"

Before I could answer, the door opened again, this time with more authority. An older woman, wearing a regal dress and exuding power, stepped into the room. Her eyes were sharp, taking in the scene with a knowing look.

She looked directly at me. "What is your name?" she asked.

"Kara," I replied, my voice calm but guarded.

The woman studied me carefully before her gaze shifted to the bed where Hilda was still sleeping. "Oh," she said softly, stepping closer. "You came with a baby, is he yours?"

I nodded, my heart tightening as I held Hilda closer. "Yes."

The woman looked at him, her gaze lingering on the mark on his skin. She smiled faintly. "Such a beautiful child," she said, her voice full of admiration. "He has unique eyes''

"Yes," I said, holding Hilda protectively.

The woman nodded and took a step back. "He is truly special. And you, Kara... , you look royal, you are from what bloodline?

Before I could respond, she turned and walked towards the door. "Never mind, Rest, Kara.

You will need your strength for now, we will talk again tomorrow "

As she left the room, the young man lingered in the doorway, his eyes lingering on me.
