Chapter 7 - The World of Gloom

Just as Joren was gobbling all the content in the dishes.

"I appreciate your help; I have a question to ask."

The cook was reluctant but eventually gave in and asked.

"Do you belong to the Asria clan?"

Joren lifted his head, silently staring at the cook's wrinkled face. No need to tell a lie, as Joren shook his head.

The cook raised his brows; in a surprised voice he asked.

"You're not from the Asria clan? But you wear that attire; only Asria clan is permi—"

That's when the cook realized. The man had defeated a Walker Stage clan member without really putting in much effort.

There might have been a similar case with him encountering a member from the Asria clan.

However, the cook believed there was more to this story.

He lowered his voice and anxiously asked Joren.

"Did you defeat him?"

Joren wished to speak his mind, which was that he killed them but in truth, if being immortal was a big deal here, then he needed to lie.

"Yeah, I did."

There was a strange atmosphere, like a mixture of chaos and blissfulness. Not so sure which was the right one for Joren to accept.

"So which clan do you belong to?"

Asked Morian Silver.

"None, I don't even know what these clans are."

That startled everyone. This man single-handedly defeated a foe while displaying a minimum effort, and yet he hasn't been recruited.

Either what they heard was a lie or it was hard to swallow that it was a truth.

Rubbing his chin and carefully pondering, the cook quoth.

"So, you're not a clan member, and yet you haven't really known about it."

The conclusion to it was simple: he was a newbie in this world.

"Are you a gloomer then?"

Joren's expressionless face was unreadable for these people.

Joren shook his head and spoke.

"Don't know what that is."

He wasn't sure, but he was curious to learn everything about this world. And right now, his only hope was these people.

Scratching his head, the cook said.

"If you're new here, it's going to be a little troublesome to explain everything."

Just as he was about to explain, someone entered the shop with a shout.

"I'm back."

It was Marti, the same girl from before. Her face was swollen. She held her dagger in her hand as she strolled forth.

Everyone was gazing at her, both amused and worried.

"Marti, what happened to you?"

Asked her sister, Morian. They kind of looked alike and yet had diverse personalities.

"Tried to beat some Asria clan member; he was too strong, however I fought him well. He went away running."

She boasted the lies so confidently that she didn't notice the person who had swollen her face. and gabbled on and on, standing in her place, smirking, and with her eyes closed.

"He had black hair and golden eyes but doesn't matter. I made him run; that's what mattered."

Rubbing her nose, her smile turned to a grin. As she opened her eyes, Marti saw her sister anxiously look away at someone.

She followed her gaze and saw Joren sitting at the table and staring at her.

A bolt of light struck her; Marti jumped from her place and shouted.

"You!"

Her dagger raised but there was no point in threatening a man who had defeated her before.

Marti turned to her sister, demanding an answer.

"Why did you let a vile demon like him in the shop?"

The fumed Marti glared at Joren; this was unacceptable to her. How could they let him in the shop?

At that time, there were barely any customers in the shop. And thankfully, the older sister explained everything to her. It took a whole five minutes for Marti to digest everything she had heard.

"So, he's not from Asria clan? Wait—that means I was attacking the wrong person?"

Marian asked her to apologize to the customer for her rude behavior. With a sneer, she refused to do so and spoke.

"Why should I? He beat me with those metal-made hands."

"Didn't you say you made him run away?"

When the truth was revealed, Marti rubbed his palms in embarrassment. Damn, if only Joren wasn't here, her lies would never have been exposed.

It wasn't her first time; many times, she had told stories of making clan members of different clans.

"I know, but not all of them were lies. Trust me, will you?"

Joren listened to Marti while he finished all the content on the plates; he ate as if he had been hungry for a long time, which he had been.

What lingered in his mind was something else. It was a way to escape this world and return to earth.

To do that, he needed information about this world, which he obtained from the cook.

The world he was in was called Gloomer, or the other name of this world was "the world of unlucky souls."

There were a total of fifteen worlds with an extra mysterious world that no one knew about. Unlike the gloomer world, the other worlds were rich and full of prosperity and happiness and mostly had immortality.

While Gloomer World was plagued with negativity and pain, their souls would disappear if they were killed.

However, people in this world have stages as well.

If trained, they can increase and become powerful. However, their stages were different than that of the upper world.

In Bloomer, there were beginner, intermediate, and advanced stages.

However, only one or two people have reached the advanced stage, even though they were never enough to fight against any world to stop them from discriminating against the gloomer.

There were clans in this world too, but they weren't as strong as others.

The higher-level clans of the upper world would enter this world to take people with them to increase their members and with that they could reach a higher world.

However, it was not always necessary in the past but now, most souls will enter the world of gloom, and they will have to enter this world again and again.

Destroying it and making sure this place never becomes a burden in the future for them.

'Wherever humans exist there will also be chaos.' Joren thought.
