Author's Confession

Hi, this is the author of the new book Psychogenic, which I initially planned to call Mental. But due to the strict and popularized familiarity of that name, I had to go with Psychogenic. And hey, look, I'm not saying that I'm complaining or anything, I just thought that I should alert you guys.

My own name is Pride Of Angel, which I know is the name of an author that you've never heard of and probably won't waste your time reading through his book. And I can't say that I blame you—no one wants to bet on someone that they barely know, let alone have even heard of. If I were in your shoes, I'd react the same way too.

Please note, and be sure to rest and ease up: this is not emotional blackmail or any kind of blackmail. This is just a new author being honest, not just with himself but with everyone else too.

I would be lying if I said that this book I'm writing is or was inspired by any other books and works from other authors. No, it's not. It's my own originality. And I'm not saying that I've never tried to write and produce works inspired by other books or authors—let's say My Vampire System, for example.

I've tried to write my own story similar to that, but eventually, my heart grew in discontent because it felt alien and it wasn't my idea. It wasn't my voice. So I gave up.

Years later, I've been having this idea, but I didn't know how to start it. And now here I am. I'm not going to bore you with a whole life story, history, and explanation of where it all began—how I discovered my love for creative writing in 8th grade, or how I created my first story probably in the 1st grade.

No, I'm not going to do that. Listen, I'm not even going to try to market myself and lie to you by saying that this is a story you've never seen before, or even tell you that if you read this book you'll be charmed and fall in love with it at first sight.

And please don't sweat yourselves—I'm not trying to be negative or anything like that. I'm just being honest. The truth is, some of you might enjoy it, and most maybe find it repulsive, which is okay. After all, this is what I should expect, right?

So, in advance, thank you to those who choose to believe in me and invest their time reading my book and supporting me. It really means a lot. I know you could have found something better to do.

And to those who won't like it and maybe even hate it—thank you for giving your best and trying. Not every book will be for everyone.

So instead of wasting your time trying to summarize what is actually going to happen in the story, I'm not going to do something so cringe.

If you like the story, read it. And if you enjoy it, let me just say thank you.

Now I think I've said a lot of the things that I needed to say.

Just give it a try, will ya?
