Chapter 126 - Chapter 120: Battle of the Burning Spear

Chapter 120: Battle of the Burning Spear

Nearly three months had passed since Princess Helga Helmsley joined the ranks of White Star Radiance.

Seventeen days earlier, after a prolonged stalemate, the allied forces finally broke through the Great Fort, forcing the Rackshalla Clan and their allies—Demons, Demonic Beasts, and dark cultivators—into a further fortified territory. A new standoff had formed, but now with escalating reinforcements on both sides. Similar skirmishes had erupted in other nations, though most were better equipped than Brawlmanica to face such threats.

Since White Star Radiance began its campaign across Brawlmanica, the journey had been turbulent. Despite a relatively smooth start, the group encountered growing opposition—political, martial, and covert. News of Princess Helga's presence with the White Star Radiance spread quickly, sparking resistance from various nobles and factions.

Lower nobles such as Baronets and Barons lacked the authority to challenge them outright, especially in wartime. Viscounts posed greater complications depending on their allegiances, but none had succeeded in obstructing White Star Radiance's progress for long—particularly with Helga's high-profile backing.

The greatest hurdles came in the form of certain earls and most notably a Marquess—a powerful noble nearly equal in authority to the Dukes, who in turn held sway just beneath the King. Unfortunately, the throne remained vacant, granting ambitious nobles more leeway. This Marquess, aligned with a distant branch of the Helmsley royal family, proved to be a persistent source of obstruction.

Still, years of war—including past conflicts with the Fighting Brawlman Sect—had worn down many of these once-mighty powers. The late King Helmsley had united the country through charisma and martial prowess, a strength few now possessed.

As White Star Radiance hunted remnants of the Night's Light Devouring Church, the Sussuri Oscuri, and the Anti-Brawlmanica Alliance, things grew darker. Fearsome enemies appeared with greater frequency, and it became clear that some nobles were covertly aiding the enemy. Investigations intensified, and assassination attempts on Princess Helga increased.

Fortunately, Helga's identity remained well concealed within the masked ranks of White Star Radiance—and she proved to be far from defenseless.

Helga had grown stronger alongside Ramiro and his squad—the officially named Lion's Spearhearts. Though the name had been chosen by Seralily, Sophia, Willowna, Sakurana, and Helga herself (much to Ramiro's embarrassment), the group had become an elite frontline unit.

Though still at Silver Tier 5, Helga fought with relentless determination among the Gold Tier warriors. She trained and bled with them, earning their respect.

On this day, an ambush set the battlefield ablaze. A force of powerful masked attackers launched a coordinated strike—their target: Princess Helga.

Chaos ensued as White Star Radiance scattered across multiple battlefronts.

The Lion's Spearhearts fought together with members of the León Clan, pushing back wave after wave. In the midst of this, Helga was injured—a deep wound to her left leg, inflicted just after she brought down one of her attackers with her hybrid weapon, the Gold Star Sword-Bow. As she fired an arrow imbued with Sword Aura, the enemy retaliated in death, releasing a final blast at close range that struck her leg.

Her Royal Phantom Guards were already engaged with high-level foes, and upon seeing her hurt, they exploded with fury, their attacks turning savage.

"Sister Helga! Hang in there! I'll get you treated right away!" Sakurana cried, panic in her voice.

Upon witnessing Helga's injury, Ramiro Leon's expression darkened.

"You bastards DARE target her?! You won't leave here alive—or my name isn't Ramiro Leon! Everyone—KILL THEM ALL!"

Ramiro charged, his blazing spear tearing through enemies with terrifying force. Seralily appeared behind him, sucking blood from a wound on his arm. Her aura ignited—green and red light danced across her body as her spear glowed with nature energy.

"As you command, my hero…" she whispered with a dangerous, yet beautiful smile.

Ramiro became a blur, appearing before an enemy with blinding speed. His spear tore through the man's light armor, piercing him cleanly. With a sharp wave, Ramiro flung the body into another enemy, closing in to finish both off.

Three energy blasts hurtled toward him—blocked mid-air by Sophia's magical water spheres.

Seralily struck like a phantom.

Her spear sank into her target's neck. She spun and danced through the enemy ranks, striking pressure points and weak spots with ruthless efficiency.

—Lanza Ardiente—

(Burning Lance)

Ramiro's spear twisted with fiery Ki, wrapping flames around the shaft and onto his arms. With a bestial lion-like roar, he surged ahead, followed by Seralily, Willowna, and Sakurana. Sophia advanced from behind, chanting another spell.

A massive magical shield formed ahead as enemies prepared to retaliate.

—Trueno Carmesí—

(Crimson Thunder)

Ramiro's spear condensed red lightning, crackling with deadly heat. He smashed into the shield. In a blinding flash, the entire barrier shattered in an explosion, flinging enemies away. Seralily and the others followed up, their attacks devastating, efficient, and merciless.

Ramiro, however, didn't stop. His spear burned brighter as he charged again.

An axe-wielding warrior stepped forward, backed by elites.

"Prepare to meet your death, vile traitors!" the man shouted.

"No—you prepare to die!!" Ramiro roared in return.

Their weapons collided in a cataclysmic impact. The ground beneath them cracked, blazed, and quaked. The shockwave sounded like a lion's roar clashing with the groan of a collapsing mountain.

The axe wielder was blasted 25 steps back, blood trickling from his arms. Ramiro only slid 10 steps before steadying his footing.

More enemies closed in—three masked elites joining the axe wielder to make it four versus one.

Ramiro's eyes glowed with fury. He gripped his spear tighter, his breath steady.

"Come then," he muttered. "Let me show you what it means to challenge the Leon bloodline."
