Chapter 1 -  Chapter One: The Weight of the Crown

The Kingdom of Eloria had always thrived on tradition. Its golden spires gleamed against the morning sky, and the banners of the royal family rippled across the grand capital of Caerwyn. To the outside world, Eloria seemed unshakable, its monarchy as ancient as the mountains. But behind the marble walls of the Royal Palace, fractures had begun to appear.

King Alden IV, graying but strong, had ruled with firm resolve for thirty years. Beside him, Queen Isolde commanded respect with her measured grace. Their three children—Crown Prince Adrian, Princess Selene, and Prince Dorian—were beloved by the people, though not without whispered scandal.

Adrian, the eldest, was heir to the throne. At twenty-eight, he bore the crushing expectations of tradition: a marriage, heirs, and an unwavering loyalty to the kingdom. Yet his heart, quietly and stubbornly, belonged to men. For years, he had hidden this truth from his father, fearing not for his life, but for his crown.

Selene, the second-born, was as fiery as she was brilliant. At twenty-five, she studied military strategy and law, though what fascinated her most was Lady Elara—the daughter of a rival noble house. Their love was a dangerous secret, for if discovered, it could unravel fragile alliances.

Dorian, the youngest, was nineteen and restless. Known for his charm and mischief, he openly courted both women and men at court, delighting in the scandal. Unlike his siblings, he seemed unburdened by fear. To him, love was freedom, and he refused to hide it. But freedom often came with a price.

As the kingdom prepared for the Summer Coronation Festival, whispers spread that Eloria's enemies were gathering strength at the borders. It was not only war the royals would face, but also the truth that lay in their hearts—truths that could either bind the family together or tear them apart.
