Chapter 2 - You’re Different

Sora could feel his pulse quicken as Ayumi lingered in the room, her eyes tracing every line of his unfamiliar body. Every step she took made the air feel heavier, every breath she drew seemed to echo inside him.

"You… you really are different," Ayumi murmured, her voice soft but charged. She stepped closer, and Sora felt a strange heat pooling in his chest. Her hand brushed his arm—just a casual touch, but it lingered far too long. The contact sent shivers down his spine, a thrill that was confusing and exhilarating all at once.

"I… I don't know how this happened," Sora said, trying to keep his voice steady. But the timbre of it—deeper, richer—made Ayumi's lips twitch into a small, knowing smile.

Ayumi's fingers grazed his hand as she reached past him to adjust a stray lock of hair at his forehead. "It's… kind of amazing," she said, her eyes locked on his, glimmering with something Sora couldn't quite name. "You… feel different. You're… so different."

Ayumi tilted her head, smiling faintly. "I… I don't know how to act around you now," she admitted. Her hand lingered near his shoulder, fingers lightly tracing the edge. "You… you feel… so real. And I don't know what I'm supposed to do with this."

Sora's chest tightened, and he realized he didn't want her to pull away. "I… I feel the same," he whispered, barely audible. His own hands twitched, longing to reach out, to hold her, but unsure how.

They stood like that for a long moment, close enough to feel each other's warmth. Every brush of skin, every shared breath was a spark that neither could ignore. The room seemed to shrink around them, leaving only the hum of their racing hearts and the unspoken tension that crackled between them.

Ayumi finally laughed softly, a mix of nerves and delight. "This is… impossible," she said. "But… maybe… maybe it's kind of exciting."

Sora's lips curved into a faint, mischievous smile. "Exciting… yeah. That's one way to put it."

And in that instant, the world outside ceased to exist. There was only them, the heat of the moment, and the dangerous, thrilling pull of a connection neither could name…
