Chapter 6 - Imperial Ascent

After a few weeks of rebuilding I had finally gotten my army to full strength. Without delay I sent my newly built bots to the farms to prepare for taking the NCRCF. I mobilized my small fleet of trucks after equipping my armor and we went to the farm to pick up the army.

Most of my army was of course still eyebots. The rest would be put in trucks or could travel alongside us like the eyebots. As soon as we got to the farms I sent the eyebots straight at the NCRCF as I didn't want the powder gangers to have a single chance. It helped that the gangers main weapon, dynamite wasn't as effective on eyebots as it was on grounded opponents.

After loading the bots we shot down the road and I led the charge into the courtyard of the prison by smashing my IFV through the fencing. The four turrets roared to life and I quickly climbed to the main gun of my small tank. The plasma laser cannon had a bubble of hardened steel and bullet resistant glass that I climbed into as I grabbed the swivel handle on the inside and took aim at a tower.

I aimed to cut through the tower legs as I swung the cannon and pulled the trigger. In a blinding flash of green a laser slagged the supports of the tower. Turning to the next tower I could see panicking men racing down them trying to escape the miniature Death Star beam.

The next tower crumpled just as easily and I didn't bother with the other two as they had been taken by my bots. A few minutes later I climbed out of my IFV as my bots had secured the area. As I walked to the main building I could still hear so fighting upstairs and when I entered I found multiple Mr.Handys covered in blood, guts, and ash from there weaponry.

I went upstairs and found the bots couldn't get through the door as it had a massive steel barricade. I had recently gotten stun grenades and this was a good time to test them. Tossing one through returned gunfire and the effects of a flashbang. Peaking in I saw 6 people, Eddie the leader with a shitty plasma pistol, four goons one with brass knuckles. The last person in the room was a little girl? Or maybe a boy? I couldn't tell as they were curled up in the right corner covered in bloody rags and chains.

I quickly shifted into the doorway and took aim with my automatic laser rifle. A few quick bursts of red light and the enemies were dead or dying. The idiot with the brass knuckles had tried to charge me but I had easily reduced his unarmored head to dust. Eddie was sobbing behind the desk of the office with multiple blackened holes through him.

I knocked him out with a kick and instructed my bots to cut through the barricade I had slipped through. Without anyone shooting them they got in easily. I went to the person in the corner and found a small horribly injured woman. She had clearly been abused by the freaks in this place and used as their slave. I picked up the nearly limp woman and brought her outside and placed her on a bed I had one of my people drag outside. I had brought along medical supplies so I quickly inserted IV for nutrients and water then added some drops from a stimpack to aid in recovery as she had no visible wounds besides massive bruising.

As soon as the bots had reported that everyone in the facility except a few escapees had died I and a few others put the woman in a truck and took her straight to Doc Mitchell. After getting her to him and telling him what I knew we all headed back to collect the bots and loot. It had taken us less than a day to do what the corrupt NCR couldn't.

As I did in Sloan I left behind a group of bots to guard the place and wait for the NCR to get there. I had only lost four bots with one being a handy and the rest eyebots. With the NCRCF liberated I began work towards taking the mountain. For that I was going to make smaller versions of my IFV controlled by AI to send up the mountain and wipe out the super mutants.

A few days later I completed my first one, it was like a small car or ATV with four turrets and a plasma cannon on top. With an unmoving frame and wheels, it held much more armor and power than a sentry bot. They were perfect for assaulting the mountain as it had a road all the way to the top.

After making the first one I finally completed a blueprint for it and set my Mr.Handys to making more.

Over the next week I worked on another part of my plan for the mountain. I was going to send eyebots with up there blaring Tabitha's voice to the the supermutants and incite the greens to fight the blues. I had already recorded Tabitha's voice on the radio and cut it up to make it sound like she was constantly insulting the greenskins.

After sending my eyebots to hopefully start a civil war I prepared my army to take the mountain. Leading would be my little tanks with eyebots and handys behind them. When we got to the foot of the mountain around midday I sent the bots and waited. They met resistance halfway up as three greenskins were firing at seemingly nothing.

My bots came up behind and gunned them done only to get attacked by a massive rebar/concrete club. The concrete shattered against the heavy armor of the bot as the now revealed nightkin was blasted by the of the tanks turrets. It proceeded much like this till they were met with a massive crater in the road with three deathclaws inside. I lost one tank as the deathclaws got to it before they could be crippled by the cannons of the other tanks.

We lost two more to the nightkin on the arrays walkway. I remembered that nightkin being particularly annoying as it had a powerful missile launcher. After it died my smaller bots swarmed the place and eliminated Tabitha. She scrapped many of the bots but was eventually taken out.

It was at this point I really wished I had more tech savvy people with me to handle this place. I was forced to stay on the mountain after looting it to repair the place and guide my bots in clearing radioactive material. After an entire week of repairs to an extensive radar and satellite array I was finally able to leave.

We had found Raul locked away on day five and I had set him up to run this place. He was perfect to run this place as without being an immune mutant you'd have to wear a rad suit all day and regularly take radx and radaway. I'd need to decontaminate my armor and clothing after I got home.

I left lots of bots up there to keep things safe and running. I had also made a personality matrix and plugged it into a Mr.Handy to keep Raul company and help him run the radio. After getting to Goodsprings I sent letters out looking for music and musicians to play on the radio. I would need to set up some kind of radio station in Sloan so Raul could leave the mountain in safety and upkeep things for me.

I was getting tired of the music of the Mojave and I knew others were as well. The crimson caravan was my best bet as they could provide most things if you had the caps for them. Another few weeks passed in a blur as I built a new radio station in Sloan connected to Black Mountain Radio and we finally began playing new music and song over it.

While I sponsored the radio it was all run by some locals alongside Raul and his Mr.Handy 6 Dawg. They had heard of Three dog and since 6 Dawg had 3 arms and 3 eyes the name was appropriate.

Alongside the the messages I had sent out I sent one specifically for Courier 6. I needed her help. Brigid was regularly updating me on her mission and had sent me lots on aerospace and aerodynamics. With that tech and my knowledge with the courier mind I figured we could easily make plane. I also wanted to send her to take Searchlight Airport. Sending her there would also allow me to have her grab the Tesla cannon from the crashed vertibird near there.

With things going as well as they were I wanted a new target. The obvious choice was Big MT. However, I needed a way to get my forces there without traveling over ground. I couldn't fly them in planes as I was still figuring out that tech so I'd be making a larger version of something I already had.

The first blimp I had made was small and meant for mapping the world. The one I'd now start building would be closer to the BOS airships than what I'd made. In between Jean Skydiving, Primm, and the NCRCF was a decently flat area. Most of the greenhouses already set up were between Jean and the prison so I'd have to set up between there and Primm.

After sending some bots to clean and flatten the area I began working on designing the blimp and its support structure. While most of it would be pretty easy the procurement of hydrogen would require a machine to use electrolysis to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. To that end I began making a small building at Jean to make the machine in.

With the quarry running again and my bots bringing in scrap I easily had a building put up and began making the hydrogen producer. While building the machine I had my bots building lots of pressurized tanks for the hydrogen and other working on the framework to begin building the airship.

3 weeks later

Jean Skydiving had become a fortress. With bots working alongside the people at the quarry everything it produced came quickly. I had easily gotten ahold of lots of stone and used it to fortify the area and my properties. The framework of the construction area for the airship was down and the bots were working on the frame of the ship. I was currently doing paperwork as the NCR bureaucracy was immense and annoying.

Most of my materials came from NCR territory and most of what I sold was bought by the NCR. The NCRs standing against the Legion had shifted with their newly acquired war bots. Every frontline was reinforced with a few eyebots and a Mr.Handy. Many of my bots spied for me but any that had access to high level stuff couldn't transmit else they would be discovered.

Paperwork had to be done for what I was getting and for what I was selling. I usually didn't have to keep track of things so the paperwork had kept me inside all day. At around midday I got tired of the paperwork and went outside to check on the progress of the airship. When I arrived I found two people on the other side of the site talking to my Mr.Handy foreman.

I had built multiple to make sure everything continued to operate smoothly and that malfunctions and such were taken care of. The foreman for the airship was much more advanced and could easily make conversation. As I approached I could see one standing to the side as the foreman tried to keep the other away as they were seemingly geeking out over the ship.

Getting closer I recognized one of them instantly, courier 6. She stood tall and imposing in her upgraded vault suit. The other was a bit harder to recognize but I had played Fallout New Vegas enough to guess who she was. As I got to them I could make out, what who I guessed was Veronica was saying. "So is this based of the Prydwen? How much tonnage is it designed to carry? What power source will it run on? Will it be run completely by AI and robots or will people be manning it? What stabilizing methods will be used? Is it going to be

self-sustaining or will if rely on outside support?" She kept babbling as I walked over, all the while the foreman kept attempting to answer her. Courier 6 simply nodded to me as we began walking to a small transport I had called over.

We eventually got to my office and new buildings in what was now being called

Jean Fort. I showed 6 my plans which she decided were decent. After discussing plans we screwed around with aviation and long range weapons, something I had been fiddling with for a while. Long range weapons had been something I wanted for some time but I could never do as even after setting up a building and machines for it I still couldn't supply the raw material needed for it.

I had the resources for the weapons themselves but not the ammunition. I had even tried to make a plasma artillery cannon which had become a decent airburst anti-air weapon. I was functioning much like the Mojave Brotherhood chapter in the resources department. Most of what I had was self sustained energy. After messing around with flight and big guns we got to faction talk.

I needed the NCr and legion around to keep order in their territories so I could grow and build. Once I was strong enough I'd wanted to take the NCR then the legion. Afterwards I could look to expanding outside the west. Though if it took to long I could always go to West Virginia and start there. I could probably still join the U.S. army through automated recruitment and then I could join the enclave and take over from there.

After the NCR and legion the only faction I was concerned with was the

Brotherhood of Steel. I had liked the BOS in all the games but in real life they could easily become my enemies. I really wanted them on my side but they were to stuck in their dogma. If I could I wanted to integrate them into my empire as they would be perfect for it.

After we talked of factions I explained some things about the airship I was building to Veronica, such as the ships air bladders being more numerous than the Prydwens as it was meant to be fully self sufficient. I had designed many things for the ship but most couldn't be built till the ship was nearly completed.

With night drawing close I set the two up with rooms and hit the sack, I'd have to finish all that paperwork after sending off 6 with a small army. I also needed to work on my expansion to Vegas as the way there was much easier with the deathclaws out of the picture.
