A profound, solemn silence had fallen across the countless worlds gazing upon the light screen. A powerful sense of history, heavy and undeniable, settled in the hearts of every observer. The realization was staggering: Fujimaru Ritsuka and Mash Kyrielight, these two young souls, had become the final, flickering hope for all of mankind. Their adversaries were not mere monsters but the legends of history itself—Heroic Spirits whose power defied imagination.
In Fuyuki City, its inhabitants watched the depiction of their home's fiery annihilation with an uncanny, chilling sense of déjà vu.
[The screen continues its narrative]
The images shifted, chronicling a desperate journey. Fujimaru Ritsuka and Mash Kyrielight traversed one distorted era after another, facing unimaginable perils. Yet, through sheer will and burgeoning strength, they prevailed. One by one, they recovered the sacred relics—the Holy Grails.
[The Holy Grails from six singularities now rest within Chaldea...]
The focus now turned to the seventh and final destination. A title appeared:
[It was a time of destiny when humans and gods parted ways....]
The scene opened on a world in chaos. Lightning tore through a bruised, storm-ridden sky. A tempestuous ocean churned violently, its waves crashing against a cliff of blackened rock.
Upon that desolate peak stood a figure of immense power and sorrow. A half-naked blond man, his body adorned with red tattoos and pieces of resplendent golden armor that spoke of absolute majesty, cradled another figure in his arms—a being with long, flowing green hair. A man.
The green-haired man's form was disintegrating, fading into motes of light that were swept away by the howling wind and rain. The blond king's eyes were hidden by his rain-soaked golden bangs, but the tracks of tears were clear on his cheeks, mingling with the downpour. In his hand, he clutched a single, glowing relic, a final keepsake of his lost friend.
The scene dissolved and shifted.
Now, the same king was seated upon a magnificent throne within a lavish palace. His eyes, now open, were a piercing, arrogant scarlet. His expression was one of lazy indulgence, his posture the epitome of luxurious authority. Merely by sitting there, he exuded an aura of undeniable, absolute kingship.
[This is a true king!]
The king rose and walked onto a spacious rooftop, gazing up at the starry tapestry of the night sky. A pleased, almost predatory smile graced his lips.
"Ho... So you managed to come? ... Chaldea!"
He spread his arms wide, addressing the heavens themselves with a voice of thunderous command.
"The sole candlelight that dares to illuminate these stars... If you possess the courage, then open the path!"
"Come! To this land where gods and mankind yet coexist!"
"Come, the Last Master of Humanity!"
In Chaldea, the response was immediate. Fujimaru Ritsuka, Mash, and their team stood ready within the coffins of the Rayshift chamber.
[Commencing actual verification for the Seventh Singularity!]
A flash of light, a sensation of being torn apart and remade—and then, the terrifying feeling of freefall. They materialized high in the air, with nothing but the distant, unforgiving ground below.
"WAAAAAAAAAH!" Their screams were ripped away by the wind as they plummeted towards the earth.
[Noble Phantasm, Deploy!] Mash cried out, her voice firm despite the terror.
[Manifest!]
[The Distant Utopia! - Lord Camelot!]
A brilliant light erupted from her shield below them. On the ground, a massive, shimmering city wall—a bastion of absolute protection—materialized just in time to cradle their fall, saving them from a fatal impact.
Here, in this ancient land, they encountered a mysterious young girl and learned of the green-haired man, Enkidu—a friend to the king, already lost to the world. It was through these encounters they understood the terrifying truth: the true enemy of humanity here was not man or monster, but the gods themselves.
(In many worlds, deities of various pantheons felt an inexplicable, collective pang of dread. Again? Must they always be the antagonists? Can't they just be left in peace? What terrible luck...)
[To fight against the gods, mankind built a bastion...] a narration explained.
The scene panned out. Fujimaru and Mash stood atop a high cliff, looking down upon a sight that stole the breath from their lungs. It was a masterpiece of desperation and defiance.
A vast, fortified city was under siege by a seemingly endless tide of monsters. Creatures of dark red and ghastly cyan, brutal and mindless in their fury, threw themselves relentlessly against the towering walls. The ground was a horrific carpet of monster corpses, human remains, and spilled blood, churned into a mud of gore. It was a vision of hell on earth.
The battle was one of extreme, brutal sacrifice. The human defenders, though fear was etched on their faces, fought with a desperate, bloody resolve. The knowledge of the homes and families behind those walls fueled their last stands. Despite the overwhelming numbers of the monstrous horde, the city walls held, unbroken.
Enkidu, who was guiding them, watched the humans on the wall with a face of cold, imperceptible impatience.
[There is no need to kill them all...]
he stated, his voice devoid of warmth.
[It's obvious that if you simply let it go, you'll die. How utterly foolish...]
It was unclear whether he spoke of the humans or the monsters.
As Fujimaru's group followed Enkidu into a dense forest—a path Mash's instincts told her was not the way to Uruk—a new figure appeared.
He was a young man with long hair, holding an ornate staff. His presence was as calming as a breeze across a summer meadow. Behind him stood a small, purple-haired girl named Anna, her expression guarded and her eyes sharp.
It was then that Enkidu's guise shattered. He moved to attack instantly.
[Anna, go and help them...] the long-haired man, Merlin, instructed calmly.
The girl gave Merlin a flat, unimpressed look, but she moved with lightning speed. Her sickle flashed, carving through the air towards Enkidu, the impact causing the ground at his feet to explode.
Enkidu merely bent down, pressing a single hand to the earth. In response, golden chains of lightning erupted from the ground, tearing the earth asunder with terrifying power, aimed directly at Anna.
The girl dodged and weaved with incredible agility, but a rising stone pillar, summoned by the chains, caught her and sent her flying.
[Mash!] Ritsuka yelled.
Mash didn't hesitate. She surged forward, her massive shield smashing down where Enkidu had stood. But the Living Weapon was preternaturally fast, evading with a graceful leap. He raised a hand, points of concentrated light gathering at his fingertips before shooting towards Mash.
[BOOM!!!]
A violent explosion engulfed the area.
Seizing the opening, Anna flung her own chains, attempting to bind Enkidu. A faint, condescending smile touched Enkidu's lips.
[You dare use chains against me? How truly ridiculous, you third-rate Servant!]
His own, far superior chains shot out, effortlessly entangling Anna. But just as Enkidu believed victory was his, the figures of Mash, Ritsuka, and Anna he had trapped dissolved into a flurry of soft, pink petals, scattering on the wind.
Enkidu paused, understanding dawning.
[I see. It seems I fell into an illusion during the battle... A dream.]
[No matter. Leave them for now...]
Nearby, Mash, Ritsuka, and Anna stumbled, finding themselves safely away from the confrontation, confused by their sudden relocation.
It was then that Merlin stepped forward, placing a hand on his chest with theatrical flair.
[I saved you in your most critical moment. I shall be expecting overwhelmingly grateful praise!]
Fou! The furry little beast, upon seeing Merlin, instantly transformed into a blur of righteous fury. It launched itself at the magician's face, delivering a series of furious, scratching kicks.
[Merlin, you deserve to die!]
[You hateful little beast!] Merlin complained, trying to shield his face.
[Have you forgotten all my years of tender care?]
Back in Chaldea, Dr. Romani, upon hearing Merlin's true name, shot up from his chair in shock.
Merlin merely smiled, a picture of false modesty.
[Hey now, I'm just an ordinary magician who happens to qualify for a special title, that's all.]
The doctor, muttering to himself without thinking, explained aloud:
[Magicians with such titles... they all possess a form of Clairvoyance. For instance, King Solomon had eyes that could see through all of the past and future... and Gilgamesh possesses eyes that can perceive the future... It's merely a convenient skill, that's all...]
He then froze, realizing Merlin's true ability meant the magician had undoubtedly seen right through his own carefully guarded secrets. He instantly shut down, slumping back into his chair in horrified silence.
Da Vinci facepalmed beside him, while on the screen, Merlin's smile widened, as if to say, "Please, do keep talking. Tell them everything."
In the end, under Merlin's guidance, the group finally arrived at their destination: the walls of the mighty city-state, the heart of humanity's defiance in this age.
Uruk.
The oldest fortress city in human history stood before them, a testament to resilience against the dying age of gods.
