Noreen's refusal was exactly what Nevaeh expected. She already knew Noreen's weakness and that was why she dared to act so boldly.
Seeing the desperate look in Nevaeh's eyes made Noreen's lips curl into a mocking smile. "That diary? I might as well toss it into the river! Hahaha…"
As she laughed, Nevaeh could clearly see it in her eyes. To Noreen, she was nothing but an unwanted orphan.
Why should someone like her deserve a better life? There was no way Noreen would ever agree.
Realizing that nothing she said would make Noreen reveal where the diary was, Nevaeh's expression turned cold.
She looked at Frank. "Please, throw her into the river."
The moment Frank moved to obey, Noreen screamed in terror.
The image of being dragged under the water still haunted her mind.
It felt like she had already died once, and now being thrown back into the river would be a second death.
