I took a deep breath as I stepped onto the bustling grounds of Lincoln High School. The air smelled different here—crisp and cool, unlike the warm, busy streets of New York I'd left behind just yesterday. My backpack felt heavier than it should have, filled with a bunch of shit I really don't need.
Today was my first day at m new school, and honestly I wasn't sure what to expect, My sneakers squeaked softly against the wet pavement as I moved toward the school entrance. Students already gathered in small groups, their voices echoing through the morning air. I clutched my schedule tightly, trying to find my way.
As I wandered through the hallways, trying to spot my locker, I caught a glimpse of someone who immediately stood out. A boy, leaning casually against the lockers with an air of confidence that seemed almost royal. He had sharp features, brown eyes, tall, beautiful messy hair, The way he looked at me all hostile and Impolite; a look that made me hesitant .
"Hey," he called out, voice deep and a little raspy. "You must be new. Sahara, right?"I blinked, surprised. "Yeah. How do you know my name?" He stepped closer, never breaking eye contact. "Everyone knows who you are already, I'm Ares." His tone was alluring, but there was an edge to it.. "Well, Sahara, welcome to Seattle, I'm sure you'll like it here"
I nodded, feeling a little nervous under his gaze.
