I was all alone when I woke in a dirty dark ally faint memory's of anatomy class flashed through my mind. I always enjoyed slowly takings living things apart and puting th back together that way they wouldn't die but that is what brought me to the end always wanting to save The Material the precious Materials.
I ran into the building it was on fire I believe or did it explode? Where even am I how did I get here why is it so cold and why can't I remember my name. My life is faint but any details beside what I loved have disappeared names and all. I looked up on my wraith like clothing torn and tattered and smiled.
I may have died but that doesn't mean it can stop me I will find out how everything works. No matter the cost. I started to humm.
"Fear this Night
No longer a blight
Let your flight
Be without a fight."
Who sang this for me why can't I remember her face why can't I hear her voice. It doesn't matter I will survive. I stand up from the grim covered ground that stinks of mildew and rot my name slowly returning to me along with my nickname.
Gar'Tuk The Flayer
I was always looking for a way to merge different cellular structures and flesh through unconventional methods. I saw a corpse after I had smelt the decay but I had no tools to properly prep it and now that I was paying more attention why is it the medieval times?
Poorly made brick roads fairly wonky carts some made decently well and many too many bodies close together I began to freak out when I was distracted.

I smiled picking up a glass shard beside me then scraped some moss off the wet muddy bricks. Looking around a smile spread across my dirt-stained flesh, pale and emancipated body slowly stood up. I watched the drunk beggar next to me as he nodded off in the dreary cloudy day the glass shard ran across his neck his hand grabbed mine the gurgles and blood coming from his mouth only made my smile widen as I said in a broken voice "what a poor life you have lived let me make it worth something" as he died I transported his body into the Lab hoping to preserve his soul as I have not been able to experiment on one of those before.
I entered the lab seeing the clean marble white floor and walls which almost blinded me and above was a starry sky that seemed endless. I looked at the pods embedded into the walls most much bigger than me but one was only slightly smaller than me and contained the corpse of the Beggar. I thought of the moss I also brought in and suddenly everything began to move bringing a small container about 1m tall (3 feet). It had a handful of moss in it that was rapidly proliferating which strangely had a description on the glass of the container.

"Interesting a mortal limit I wonder how easily I shall break that. Extract Blood Drinker and Variation Provocation."
A metallic synth voice responded, "Extracting Viable Abilities May result to loss of Biomass of target maximum variation is 90% of biomass least is 40% Proceed?"
I simply nodded and the process began needles connected to metallic arms came from the bottom of the tank extracting a pale greenish red substance from the moss. It was amazing to watch but the mass of the moss was reduced to simply 30% of what it used to have fortunately it would soon grow back in whatever this solution was made of.
"Add Blood Drinker to the Beggars corpse." My smile grew as I watched the arms inject a pale red substance into every vein at the same tie on the beggar's corpse which began to twice erratically as if coming back to life before falling silent.
"Is there a test facility for subject 001?" Instantly I was transported to a small room where 001 was dropped into unceremoniously. The screen in front of my room separated and above the arena was flooded with test options unfortunately I had no other subjects to pin it against yet. I let rain fall and the creature stood there unmoving no reaction. I had blood rain down instead and the creature collapsed on the ground, but every drop of blood was absorbed into it without any waste it was a quite rapid process for a basic ability.
