Out of professional courtesy to his colleague, Luo Shu used the Mysticism Encyclopaedia extended by his Authority of Knowledge to access information about Spirits from his mind, then typed it out manually on his phone before transferring it directly to Meer.
Spirits - mysterious lifeforms whose manifestation causes spatial disasters.
The individuals are predominantly female, possessing formidable combat abilities. In addition to armaments called Spirit Equipment, they wield various unique ability apparatuses collectively referred to as Angels.
Each Spirit corresponds to a Kabbalah sephirah, with their abilities generally aligning with the attributes of their respective sephirah.
Through the Mysticism Encyclopaedia's analysis, Luo Shu determined these Angels typically possess power at Hero Rank or above, most likely all being Demigod Rank entities.
These are currently the most dangerous lifeforms Luo Shu knows of in this world.
Considering the SDS might encounter these beings called Spirits, but are essentially Angels, out of caution, Luo Shu listed numerous Spirit abilities, with particular emphasis on Kurumi Tokisaki and the Second Spirit.
As a confirmed member of Truth Astronomy, Kurumi Tokisaki's angel, Zafkiel, possesses an alarmingly versatile range of time-based abilities.
Whether it's stopping time, briefly foreseeing the future, or summoning versions of herself from different timelines as clones, all these capabilities attest to how troublesome she can be.
Considering her current potentially hostile stance, Luo Shu naturally provided a detailed introduction.
Beyond that, the main reason for highlighting Nia Honjo was that her angel, Rasiel, possesses omniscience corresponding to the Authority of Knowledge.
Though unsure how much of Nia Honjo's angelic abilities could be utilised or whether she could foresee matters concerning himself, Luo Shu deliberately included more information about her to facilitate SDS's search efforts.
Luo Shu spent a full half-hour compiling these materials before transmitting the complete intelligence via a specialised phone to Meer.
"This is roughly all the intel I'm aware of. If there are any discrepancies, you might need to investigate them yourself."
As he spoke, Luo Shu picked up a bottle of mineral water left on the table—an unopened remnant from their earlier meal.
Meer, who had been skimming through the intel, stared blankly at the contents.
From Origami Tobiichi to Tohka Yatogami—ten individuals in total.
From appearances to personalities, from abilities to threat levels.
Aside from Mio Takamiya, who had little impact on Luo Shu, the details of these Spirits were meticulously documented.
After a quick scan, Meer looked up, stroking her chin as she scrutinised Luo Shu.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Luo Shu asked, feeling somewhat uneasy about the sheer volume he'd written.
At this, Meer grinned playfully:
"How about transferring to the Intelligence Division, Luo Shu? Come straight in as director, and I'll serve as your deputy."
Seemingly realising this offer lacked sufficient appeal, Meer teasingly raised a hand, hooking the fabric near her chest downwards to reveal a glimpse of fair, rounded skin:
"Of course, if you'd prefer something more... intimate, I might consider taking on a secretary role instead."
Watching Meer's bold gesture with keen interest, Luo Shu replied:
"Is seducing a colleague really necessary?"
"Eh~ You have no idea how exhausting my job is~"
Meer stretched lazily, then swung her feet, making her roller shoes scrape against the floor:
"Just the part about Kurumi Tokisaki's abilities alone would've cost me at least ten operatives to obtain."
"With intelligence-gathering skills like yours, keeping you in the Hidden Management Department is such a waste~"
Meer narrowed her eyes, then added with a smile:
"Speaking of which, before becoming director of Intelligence, I was Councillor Lacus's body double and secretary. If it's secretarial duties you're after, I'm quite confident in my abilities~"
"Oh, and by the way—if you want to pursue the Councillor, you'll have to get past me first."
Seeing Meer lick her fingertip suggestively, Luo Shu couldn't help but ask:
"And this 'getting past you' involves...?"
Meer didn't answer. Instead, her gaze drifted meaningfully towards Luo Shu's beltline before looking up and blinking innocently.
"...Using seduction is going a bit too far." Luo Shu somewhat awkwardly averted his gaze from Meer.
This implication that to 'fire' at Lacus, he'd have to let Meer take the first shot was really too much for him to handle.
Completely opposite to the pure Lacus, this Meer was the real pink-haired enchantress, wasn't she?
"Calling it seduction is too ambiguous—I didn't say anything of the sort just now."
Meer crossed her legs with exaggerated flair, then narrowed her eyes and smiled:
"But considering the value of the intel Luo Shu-kun just submitted, giving you a little bonus wouldn't be out of the question."
After being teased repeatedly, Luo Shu couldn't help retorting: "Should I book a love hotel then?"
"That would be rushing things a bit too much." Meer immediately made an X gesture with her arms: "No matter how casual a girl might be, she wouldn't sleep with a guy she just met on the first day, right?"
"So you do know that!" Luo Shu shot her an exasperated look. "Be serious for once."
"Understood~" Meer promptly adjusted her posture, adopting a more dignified demeanour: "Now then, back to the bonus Luo Shu doesn't want."
"How much does Luo Shu-kun know about the Desire Faction tracking Kisara-san?"
"Only what you've told me." Luo Shu glanced at Meer before explaining further: "Aside from that, I know Maria Naruse is also a member of the Truth Astronomy's Desire Faction."
"The pursuit of Kisara-san is a smokescreen."
Meer smiled as she revealed information Luo Shu wasn't privy to:
"According to the intel I've compiled, the real reason is that the Knowledge Faction's complete withdrawal of forces from East Asia and retreat to headquarters has piqued the curiosity of certain factions within Truth Astronomy. It seems they're planning to investigate the region."
'The Knowledge Faction is withdrawing entirely from East Asia?' Hearing this, Luo Shu couldn't help but frown slightly.
If he recalled correctly, the Knowledge Faction was the demon faction that worshipped the Hell noble, the Demon God Vassago.
'After Vassago suffered losses at my hands, did he order the Knowledge Faction to pull out of East Asia?'
'And now other demon factions have grown curious about the situation here because of Vassago's actions?'
Connecting these dots, Luo Shu rubbed his chin thoughtfully before asking:
"How does SDS view this intel internally?"
Meer stood up, smiling as she began to explain to Luo Shu:
"The intelligence department's opinion is that something dangerous has emerged in East Asia."
"But currently, nothing major seems to be happening here in the far-eastern island nation."
As Meer spoke, she pressed her index finger against her chin, recalling carefully:
"Aside from our operation to seal off Chiba Prefecture, there don't appear to be any major incidents."
At this point, Meer suddenly remembered something and clapped her small hands together:
"Come to think of it, the Metropolitan Police Department in Tokyo has been frequently reporting sightings of man-eating ghouls recently."
"Ghouls?" Luo Shu couldn't help but frown at this.
