After confirming that analysing the Fragment Crystal wouldn't damage it, Luo Shu, half-convinced and half-doubting, chose to let the system proceed.
The moment he agreed, an intangible wind enveloped his hand.
The wind gathered rapidly, soon forming a visible storm. Strangely, though the violent tempest swirled around his hand, it caused him no harm whatsoever.
Within the raging eye of the storm, the blue, diamond-shaped gem began to glow with dense points of light, resembling stars.
[Ding!]
[Analysis complete. Obtained memories of Demon God Vassago. Deciphered Class information and optimised based on system internal data. Display Class information?]
"Wait!"
Luo Shu immediately stopped the system from proceeding further and asked:
"Make Vassago's memories accessible to me—I need the ability to view them at will and interrupt at any time."
[Command received. Vassago's memories have been compiled into an information database.]
As Luo Shu issued his command, a new option labelled 'Information Archive' appeared in his field of vision.
Seeing this, he opened the archive while simultaneously reviewing the memories of the Demon God invited by Ishaha, instructing the system:
"List the Classes suitable for me."
As he spoke, Luo Shu remained prepared to conduct a memory search on Vassago at any moment. Although the process was cumbersome, he nonetheless chose this cautious approach.
The system, seemingly unprepared for Luo Shu's meticulousness but lacking emotions despite its intelligence, simply executed his command.
Soon, a series of Class information appeared before Luo Shu.
[Wind Contractor (Demigod potential).]
[Forms a contract with the Wind Spirit King, who governs the authority of wind, engraving Stigmata upon the body to become its vassal. Possesses supreme dominion over wind elements, enabling infinite manipulation of wind power within physical limits. This ability can be inherited through bloodline.]
[Fairy of Knowledge (Divine potential).]
[A Class created by Hell noble Vassago using his core Authority of Knowledge. This Class emphasises the acquisition and comprehension of knowledge, leaning towards the spiritual aspect, with the characteristic that 'greater knowledge equals greater power'.]
[Calamity Bringer (Elite Rank, Advancement-Type Class, preliminarily assessed to possess Divine potential).]
[A pursuer of calamities, a loophole in order. A composite Class with core ability centred on calamity, also capable of wielding windstorms, droughts, earthquakes, tsunamis, thunderstorms, etc. A bringer of misfortune who bestows disasters upon others and draws power from their execution.]
Only three Classes were listed, but with a single glance, Luo Shu understood there was only one real choice.
"Wind Contractor has the lowest potential and is subordinate to the Wind Spirit King – no real option there. Fairy of Knowledge seems decent, but I just swindled Vassago. How would I handle his eventual retaliation? Choosing to become a Fairy of Knowledge would mean opposing the creator of this Class."
"So, the only viable choice is Calamity Bringer, isn't it?"
With this thought, Luo Shu quietly opened the Information Archive to search for the reason why Calamity Bringer had been included as a system option.
Then, his perspective abruptly shifted.
He became a diligent Demon God, responding to the believers' prayers and deriving conceptual power from them.
Enthroned in a divine kingdom, He overlooked hell, loftily accepting the offerings of believers and granting the faithful enlightenment in times of crisis, enabling them to resolve disasters through their own strength.
Then one day, He responded to the prayer of a believer who frequently offered new knowledge and peculiar artefacts – not particularly devout but somewhat useful – arriving at a location to guide her fate.
Yet the moment He projected His will onto the believer's soul through prayer to assess the situation and enlighten her...
His authority of knowledge suddenly alerted Him: this was another deity's divine kingdom.
And that seemingly useful believer was attempting to possess a human blessed by another god within said kingdom.
Before He could react, that deity's gaze fell upon Him.
In that instant, typhoons, earthquakes, tsunamis, sandstorms, hailstorms and countless other calamities descended upon His consciousness, spreading to His true form in the blink of an eye, grievously wounding His divine kingdom in mere moments.
It was then that the Authority of Knowledge returned with a flood of indecipherable information, informing Him that He had trespassed into the divine kingdom of the Calamity Monarch.
At the same time, He employed the Authority of Knowledge to resist and partially decipher some of the Calamity Monarch's information.
One minuscule fragment of this was the Calamity Bringer (Elite) and Calamity Monarch (Divine).
In the final scene.
Despite His severe injuries, He feigned complete immunity to the Calamity Monarch's assault and locked gazes with that sovereign of disasters.
Suddenly, Luo Shu opened his eyes, his expression turning profoundly peculiar.
"So the Class was something Vassago read from my divine kingdom?"
"The divine kingdom I'm in belongs to the Calamity Monarch?"
"No, it's more than that. Vassago is also a Divine Rank being, yet against another Divine Rank Calamity Monarch—one primarily governed by my will—he was so powerless. A mere Calamity Monarch couldn't achieve this alone."
"This divine kingdom must contain power surpassing even the Calamity Monarch. A higher-tier force wounded Vassago."
"This aligns closely with Vassago's memories. When the Authority of Knowledge responded to Him, it carried much undeciphered information—and that very information is now in my hands."
As he spoke, Luo Shu idly toyed with the prismatic gem in his palm, which contained the fragmented authority of Vassago, a deity.
The appraisal results delighted him even more.
[Fragment Crystal of the Authority of Knowledge, containing a trace of even more formidable Calamity power.]
[A fragment stripped from a deity who, due to their followers' blunder, inadvertently provoked a higher existence. Any lifeform capable of safely assimilating it would gain near-Demigod strength, suspected to be advancement material for certain Classes.]
[Note 1: The crystal's internal energies are chaotic. Host is advised to separate them, dividing the Fragment of Knowledge Authority from the embedded Calamity power.]
[Note 2: The separated Fragment of Knowledge Authority can serve as advancement material for the Class Fairy of Knowledge, while the Calamity power can advance the Calamity Bringer Class.]
"Vassago's memories also include a method to summon the Wind Spirit King. So the three Classes appeared as system options because they can be advanced?"
"In that case, the choice is obvious."
Luo Shu chuckled and crushed the prismatic crystal in his grip. As shards scattered, a translucent brown tome and a blue prismatic crystal—within which storms, tsunamis, lightning and scorching suns endlessly manifested—materialised before him.
He reached out and touched the blue crystal.
Simultaneously, an identical blue prismatic crystal appeared in Luo Shu's hand in reality.
Rising to his feet, he glanced at Kisara lying on the hospital bed before turning to the water bottle on the bedside table. With a casual gesture, the filled bottle levitated towards Luo Shu, only to be cleanly bisected by a sharp Wind Blade to accommodate the crystal's dimensions.
The sound of splashing water hit the ground as half a bottle fell.
At the same time, Luo Shu tossed a blue diamond-shaped crystal into the water, then grabbed the remaining half of the bottle and downed it in one gulp.
