Chapter 315 - The Power of the Rinnegan

Haku asked with a hint of curiosity, "Lord God King, what kind of eyes are those? Looking at them gives me a strange feeling. They seem incredibly unique."

Ryōsuke smiled and replied, "These are the Rinnegan, also known as the Eyes of the Sage."

He was not exaggerating. Possessing these eyes naturally granted one power akin to a sage, elevating them to a dimension entirely above other shinobi.

Although he had not yet fully researched their depths, he could already utilize most of Nagato's abilities.

For instance, the Deva Path's Universal Pull, which allowed him to draw a designated target toward himself, using his body as the center.

There was also the Deva Path's Almighty Push, which repelled all surrounding objects and ninjutsu away from him.

This technique was capable of repelling even Amaterasu, the special visual jutsu of the Mangekyō Sharingan.

Naturally, he could also use Planetary Devastation.

By highly concentrating chakra into a black sphere that floated into the sky, it would generate a massive gravitational pull, attracting everything in the vicinity. The gathered rocks would then form a colossal stone sphere to trap the target.

It could be considered an exceptionally powerful sealing jutsu.

Then there was the Blocking Technique Absorption Seal. As one of the Rinnegan's abilities, it formed a barrier that absorbed the opponent's ninjutsu.

He also had chakra absorption, allowing him to forcefully drain an opponent's chakra into his own body through direct physical contact.

He still needed to study its other functions, such as how to use the Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique.

That particular jutsu was rather complex, as it involved the Pure Land, the resting place of departed souls.

However, with these abilities at his disposal, he could safely say he was no longer a mere mortal.

He also possessed more than enough chakra to execute these techniques, leaving him with absolutely no worries about running out.

Hearing the God King's words, Haku and Fū opened their mouths in sheer astonishment.

Having spent the past few days with him, the two had witnessed the God King's formidable prowess firsthand. He was no ordinary human.

Yet, the aura they previously sensed from him was still fundamentally human, albeit overwhelmingly powerful.

Now, standing beside him, the feeling was entirely different. Just as he had said, he truly felt like a sage.

Haku asked with genuine concern, "Lord God King, should you be able to communicate smoothly with the Five-Tails now?"

Since the God King was now a sage, the Tailed Beast would likely listen to him. If it promised not to wreak havoc or cause destruction in the shinobi world, he could probably release it from the genjutsu.

Hearing this, Ryōsuke fell into thought.

Now that he possessed the Rinnegan, he figured there was a good chance he could persuade the Five-Tails.

If the beast remained stubbornly obstinate, he would simply give up and use it as a puppet.

He did not possess Naruto's Talk no Jutsu. If the creature was truly unwilling, he absolutely would not force the issue.

He trusted that Haku would understand as well.

"Haku, wait a moment. I am going to have another proper chat with the Tailed Beast."

His Rinnegan locked onto the Tailed Beast, smoothly projecting his consciousness into the genjutsu space. He looked down at the Five-Tails lying on the ground.

The Five-Tails naturally sensed the man's reappearance, though his aura felt somewhat different this time.

Highly displeased, it raised its head and scoffed, "If you think you can still make me submit, you are delusional."

Suddenly, it froze, as if it had just witnessed something inconceivable.

'What in the world is wrong with this guy's eyes? Why do they look like the Sage of Six Paths' Rinnegan? That's impossible, right?'

'Has it been so long since I last saw the Sage of Six Paths that my own eyes are playing tricks on me?'

It could not help but widen its eyes for a closer look. A wave of disbelief washed over it.

'He clearly had the red Mangekyō Sharingan just a moment ago. How does he suddenly have the Rinnegan now?'

'Did this brat cast a genjutsu on me to make me see the Rinnegan?' A surge of anger flared within the beast.

"You shameless bastard! You cast a genjutsu on me to make me think I was looking at the Rinnegan!"

"Did you really think that would make me submit?"

Ryōsuke was left somewhat speechless. He had expected the beast to be shocked and reconsider submitting to him.

To think it would suspect him of casting a genjutsu instead. It was truly exasperating.

"If they were real, would you submit?"

Kokuō, the Five-Tails, furrowed its brow. 'Could his eyes actually be real?'

Long ago, before the Sage of Six Paths passed away, he had told the nine Tailed Beasts that someone would appear in the future to guide them down the right path and teach them how to use their power correctly.

'Could it be this kid? If he truly possesses the Rinnegan, submitting to him might not be out of the question.'

"If you truly have the Rinnegan, I might consider submitting."

Hearing the Tailed Beast's words, Ryōsuke felt a sense of satisfaction. He certainly had not lied to it.

"Then it's a deal."

His eyes focused, instantly dispelling the genjutsu placed on the beast, and his consciousness naturally returned to reality.

The Five-Tails felt its vision go dark for a split second before it left that gloomy space. Upon opening its eyes, it was greeted by blinding light.

However, it gradually adjusted to the sensation of the sunlight, gazing out at the vast land and the boundless sky. It took in a breath of the long-lost fresh air.

'Am I back in the outside world? The genjutsu must have been lifted.'

It felt no signs of being controlled. Lowering its head, it looked at the White-Masked Man in Black standing by its feet.

The man was looking back at it. Within his pupils rested the very same Rinnegan that the Sage of Six Paths once possessed.

The purple irises and the rippling concentric circles—it could not be mistaken.

'This guy actually awakened the Rinnegan. Am I really going to submit to him? Can he truly guide me down the right path?'

Just then, it felt a strange sensation near its feet—a slight tickle. Bending its head down again, it saw two human cubs rubbing against its leg.

It was left utterly speechless. This completely stripped away its dignity as a Tailed Beast.

But now was not the time to worry about that. Ryōsuke called out to it, "Five-Tails, these are the genuine Rinnegan. Are you going to submit?"

If the Five-Tails willingly submitted, there would naturally be no need to control it with genjutsu.

The Five-Tails hesitated, deep in thought, before finally speaking, "Before the Sage of Six Paths passed away, he told us nine Tailed Beasts that someone would appear in the future to guide us."

"I hope that person is you. Of course, if I ever discover that you are incapable of guiding us Tailed Beasts..."

"...then my submission will be void."

Ryōsuke pondered this. 'The guidance the Sage of Six Paths spoke of?'

He vaguely remembered reading that the Sage of Six Paths had told the Tailed Beasts someone would eventually teach them the meaning of true power and how to use it correctly.

In the original timeline, Naruto was the one who became their guide, leading them to protect the shinobi world.

In the eyes of the Sage of Six Paths, perhaps that was considered the correct use of power.

However, if Ryōsuke used the Tailed Beasts to unify the shinobi world and establish fundamental order, that would surely count as a correct use of power as well.

Ryōsuke was confident he could provide the Tailed Beasts with a better life. In truth, even for the Tailed Beasts, using their power for the sake of others was not necessarily the only correct way.

They could just as easily use it for themselves. At the very least, Ryōsuke believed that his own power was meant to be used for his own sake.

"Alright, I promise you."
