Chapter 1 - Ch1

MC POV

I woke up in a room with no corners and a fuzzy head. I tried to recall what happened to me; I was just walking, enjoying the day, and pondering on what my life was like… what a boring cycle it was where there was no thrill and no difference — like a singular loop, a total bore. Then I heard a screeching sound, and everything went dark, and I woke up here.

I looked around and saw a man looking at me amused and intrigued, like he was looking at a rare animal or a cute panda in a zoo. Then I heard a laugh as the man spoke.

"Well, that's an interesting interpretation of you, even though I agree that what I see before me is quite interesting, when you're not supposed to be here," the man said.

"Well, I don't know what to say when you look at me like that. Though I would like to continue this banter, I would like to ask where I am and what happened."

"Fair point. Well, you're in between worlds, which you can consider as the middle ground of the living, heaven, and hell — where creation was started. You can call it the office of God if that helps you cope with the situation," the man replied.

I was shocked and anxious, looking around for hidden cameras or something that might deny what he said. When I found none, I asked him straight.

"Am I dead? Why exactly am I here when you say there was heaven and hell? Are you here to judge me or something before deciding where I'll go or something?"

"Yes, I don't know, but it's interesting. And no, I'm not here to judge you, Mr. Christian. I'm here because this is where I am supposed to be, and you being here means that you're a special case — one I don't normally see, as it happened billions of years ago," the man replied.

"Then, from the obvious clues and the latest information you just gave me, I am sure that you're God. Now, I want to ask you what will happen to me if I am a special case, as you've said I was, if not to be judged?"

"Well, since it's a special case, I will have to send you to another world with one wish — that is, an ordinary type, though. It's like giving candy to a crying child and appeasing them. Though there is something that I would like to offer for people — or rather, souls like you — that came here unexpectedly," he said.

"And that deal is?"

"You will have three wishes and a responsibility: to maintain stability in that world so it doesn't go to shit or cause anything that might destroy my creation. I will choose the world, and you think about the wishes that you want," God said.

I pondered for a moment, then I came to a decision and looked at him, smiling, knowing what my answer would be.

"I will agree to the deal, but I want to know which world you will send me to be your caretaker there, so I can decide what power I want for my wishes."

"Ok, for that, we will find out by a draw-lots, and what you pull out will be the world you will be sent to," God said.

He took out a box, and I pulled out a piece of folded paper and read the world where I would be transported to, and saw it was Game of Thrones. Seeing it, I pondered on what power I would ask God for. Then, after a few minutes of thinking, I came to a decision and told God my wish for my next life.

"For my first wish, I want to be a Vampire Progenitor. My second wish is the Akashic Records library in my mind that contains all knowledge from both my previous world and my new one. My last wish is a game-like inventory that has infinite space and can prevent anything put inside from aging."

"Ok, some of it is overpowered for the world you pulled, but you will be my caretaker for that world, so I think it is a fair trade. Though, looking at what you want, I will upgrade your first wish to make sure that you won't die unexpectedly in that world and ensure its well-being. You will be reincarnated and transported; you will know the specifics after you wake up and what upgrades I made to your wish and which era you're in," God said, and everything went dark.
