Julian strode out of the neighbourhood, heading straight toward where he had parked his car, his heart heavy, his ears filled and itchy with what he just heard.

The night air was thick, a humid ache pressing down his shoulders. He felt defeated — gutted to the core. Every word Sebastian had thrown at him still rang in his head like sirens, and his hands itched, hungry to lash out, to break something, anything, just to quiet the fire crawling under his skin. He didn't even spare a glance at the passersby who greeted him. 

He was burning inside, his thoughts a storm, and he needed to cool down before he made a mistake he couldn't take back.
