"Can I get the package now?"
Sebastian said to the salesman. The man gave a slight nod and left to bring what Sebastian had asked for. His gaze darted through the glass doors to make sure Kairen was nowhere close and yes, he was already sitting inside the car.
The yelling earlier had been intentional. Calculated. A necessary spark to drive Kairen out of the shop, so he wouldn't see what came next.
"Sir,"
the man called, drawing Sebastian's attention back. "Here you go," he said, handing him two Lady Dior handbags—glossy, flawless, packed with silk paper and ribbon. They gleamed under the boutique's pale light like treasures meant for someone else's joy.
That explained the rise in the bill, but Sebastian didn't flinch. He collected the packages with a polite nod.
"Thank you," he said.
"You're welcome, sir," the man replied with professional gratitude.
Sebastian gave one last glance around, then turned and strode out.
