Chapter 34 - Effortless Slaughter

[Congratulations! Host has leveled up!]

Roy stared at the popping notifications with a satisfied expression. With this, he had planted his foot firmly at Level 6, and from this point onwards, his Epic Drake Assault Rifle would be handy.

He tossed the now lusterless beast core, which crumbled mid-air due to loss of ether, and made his way towards an unsuspecting tunnel by the side. He observed it for a bit before confirming and announcing to the others, "I think this is the path to the next floor of the dungeon."

Meanwhile, his words were met with silence. Each individual still hadn't recovered from their shock. Especially the scornful nine — their expressions shifted erratically as they tried to comprehend what they had just witnessed.

A human easily vanquished a Level 12 Boss whilst still at Level 3… That made no sense!

Whether it be a Lord or a regular player, the difference between levels could hardly be ignored, especially when it was a major gap like a nine-level difference.

Yet… yet this bastard just pelted through the Boss in two shots. Two!

Meanwhile, their master's thoughts were on another lane entirely. Her eyes lit with so much excitement she couldn't hold back any longer. "R-Roy, please, can you just tell me where you got that weapon? Would… would you like to sell it?"

Roy smiled at both questions. "Since you announced your order, it's best I did mine.

I am the bearer of the First Class Order of Justice, and the only human eligible to tactical creations in Arcana.

Even if I wanted to sell the gun to you, I'm sorry to say you can't reproduce or replicate it. Only those under my banner and my blessing can produce such a feat."

He decided to be open with Vera. From what he noticed, she probably would never stop pestering him if he didn't give a good reason. So with this brief reply and intro to his Order, he expected a disappointed reaction from her… but it turned out to be the opposite.

Her emerald gaze lit up as she inched closer to him with a smile so beautiful it threatened to put all who saw it in a daze. "So you can actually mass produce it?"

Roy felt a headache incoming. It seemed this Lady Lord didn't plan on backing down.

"I have just the right hunter you can recruit… what do you say you start mass production, you sell to me first and exclusively… of course there'll be benefits for this cooperation~" By now she had leaned so close, a pleasant fragrance wafted into Roy's nostrils. His eyes couldn't help trailing to her slightly revealed cleavage.

And only with great willpower did he resist the urge to comply. "You don't expect me to distribute one of my greatest assets, do you?"

Though he spoke stoically, the back of his neck was drenched in sweat. Sigh! It's so tough being a virgin! Worse still to be before an extremely enchanting beauty like Vera, whose seemingly every action proved suggestive and provocative. Most guys would have already fallen into her palms by now.

On hearing his question, Vera visibly deflated, her excitement dimming a bit. She could understand his view. Clashes between Lords were inevitable, so trading one's own assets among everyone would be seriously detrimental to him.

To this, she had nothing to say. But that didn't mean she would give up. He'd definitely be willing to part with some tech sooner or later. Until then, she had to prove herself an invaluable ally. As a merchant, getting hands on such merchandise and the kind of fortune it brought would be a dream come true.

"I see… sigh! If it's like that, I can't force you. But I will still refer you to the hunter. I'm sure he would be eager to take you as his liege."

Roy could naturally see that she hadn't given up, but he said nothing and just nodded.

By now, Dio had finished packing up the boss drops, and so they proceeded down the tunnel, ready to face the second floor of the dungeon.

And the moment the twelve landed, as expected, they weren't given any moment of reprieve. The instant their feet made contact with the ground, the earth trembled — not in reaction to their weight, but as a reaction to an incoming swarm of luminescent green snakes.

[Blighting Mamba: Level 11]

[Blighting Mamba: Level 12]

A small crowd of seven-foot-long and two-foot-wide serpents slithered towards them in furious frenzy, rabid hisses ringing through the atmosphere.

This time, they didn't immediately go into a stance at the sight. Instead, they all simultaneously trained their gazes on Roy.

He was well known for deleting waves of monsters. Though these beasts were slightly higher in levels, they couldn't help but feel that the cheating bastard would resolve this just as easily.

Roy seemed unperturbed by their gazes and lack of action. To him, it was better this way. After all, the rules were simple: you loot what you kill.

Knowing full well that his Glock wouldn't be able to deal with foes of this level — its caliber too small, fire rate lacking, and damage insufficient — he naturally switched to his Epic M16.

The system didn't lie. Indeed, as he leveled up, the weapons he got from the gacha packs grew stronger.

[M16 Crystal Crimson Drake (Assault Rifle): Epic Rank

Damage: 138

Firing Rate: 3 per second

Mag Capacity: 45

Caliber, 5.56mm]

Everything else was the same, only the damage had evolved from 54 to 138!

Epic weapons really were the best. At Level 6 but already way beyond that of a Rare Level 8 weapon.

And so the others watched in amazement as a crimson crystalline gun appeared in Roy's arms, carved with a soaring dragon and glowing with a bloody cadence. This was definitely the cleanest design they had ever seen on a gun.

Roy got into stance, pulling the safety while his right index finger squeezed the trigger tight…

They watched with bated breath as the beauty of a weapon spat out continuous fiery bullets, which tore mercilessly through the swarming snakes — each bullet killing two to three in a row.

This… this was what you'd call an effortless slaughter!

Like a lawn mower, wherever the gun faced, all beasts were reduced to drops. None exempt. Even the toughest didn't survive a single shot. It was utter devastation.

And so they marched with Roy at the forefront of the crew, Dio by his side, happily performing his porter duties in packing up the loot while taking his share of cores every ten kills. He was over the moon. Boss is mighty!

And like that, faster than the first time, in literal minutes they were before the second floor boss…
