It was a turning point for Earth. Suddenly, countless humans around the world had a system interface pop up in their sights.
Countless systems were bestowed upon the chosen Lords — Unparalleled Sword System, Vampire Progenitor System, Divine Knight System, and countless more.
Shortly after, all humans were briefed on the new changes Earth's ascension would bring. This marked the end of the old, peaceful era of Earthlings as they entered the age of eat or be eaten.
All humans were transported shortly after into the new realm of Acrana. All Lords were sent to their various territories — some to volcanic regions, some to flying oases, and others to run-down castles.
But only one stood unique among them all, mouth agape, expression dark as he gazed at his own territory.
[Small Police Outpost – Tier 0]
A small white building stood in a vast expanse of nothing but sand and rocks. No nearby water source, no forest — just nothing.
As if to mock him, a dry wind blew, whipping his face with dust as a tumbleweed rolled past.
What the hell was he supposed to do with this?
As the thought ran through his mind, the system — rooted into his very being — responded:
[Host's next step should be preparing for the incoming beast horde…]
[23:37:17]
Right underneath the message was a timer ticking, glowing a dangerous red.
His eyes widened in shock and anger. He had yet to even process everything that had just happened to him. One had to remember — he had just revived. For a split second, he had been dead!
The hole in his uniform and the still-wet, bloodied fabric were stark reminders. It wasn't a dream. He had died, and now he was staring at what seemed to be the countdown for his newly replenished life.
[Do not fret, Host… you have bonus packages available to ensure your survival.]
The system consoled him, sensing his chaotic emotions.
He finally calmed down. Panicking would do him no good now. He remembered one of the lessons he'd learned in survival camp: If you find yourself in an unfamiliar place, relax, calmly assess your surroundings, and use what you have to your advantage. He recited it silently, like a mantra, to steady himself.
Regaining his composure, he spoke for the first time since the teleportation.
"System, brief me on everything I need to know."
[Gladly! Host's realm has ascended to Acrana.]
[Host has been chosen as a Lord after accepting the Order of Justice.]
[Acrana is a dangerous realm where evil and chaos thrive, and things like rules and order have become non-existent!]
[It is Host's job, as the bearer of the Order of Justice, to bring order to the realm. As the Cosmic Police, you are to bring all evildoers to justice. Gods? Lords? No one is exempted!]
The more Roy read, the more his heart pumped with excitement.
Back when he was younger, he had been an avid lover of web novels, longing to be reincarnated or transmigrated into a fantasy realm. But he had long since accepted that it would never happen.
So he found passion in something else — being a cop and enforcing the law was his pride and joy. Hearing this was like being told both his wishes had come true.
But then came the crux of the matter: as a policeman, what abilities would he have that could give him the power to arrest such beings?
[Host doesn't need to worry. Being a Cosmic Policeman comes with great perks — strength, weapons, and skills will never be an issue.]
[Reminder: Beast horde incoming – 22:57:31]
Seeing the warning reminder, Roy quickly asked, "What resources do I have that can help protect me from the beast horde?"
[As the Host is in rookie mode, Host has been gifted with…
-4 Recruitment Vouchers
-5 Epic Gacha Tokens
-1000 JP (Justice Points)]
Roy went wide-eyed, ignoring the first and last gift, his gaze fixed on the gacha tokens. Don't tell me there's a spin-to-win feature on my system…
[Host jests. There's no spinning to win on the system.]
Roy sighed in relief. He had been sucked dry of his cash multiple times by casino slot games and the like, only to get nothing. He had sworn never to try one again.
But his smile froze when the system continued:
[System only has a gacha function…]
His eyes twitched in annoyance. What's the difference?
As though to tease him, a new screen popped up. On its display was an assault rifle — unlike modern designs, this one looked as though it was made from blood crystal, with a neatly sculpted dragon carved into its body.
[Exclusive Weapon Pack: Epic Edition]
He stood frozen at the sheer beauty of the weapon. As a weapon lover, such a masterpiece was a must-have. Now, he felt the gacha feature wasn't so bad.
Rubbing his hands excitedly, he asked, "System, how do I activate the gacha tokens?"
[Host can simply give the command and System will proceed to activate the gacha tokens.]
[But Host must be aware: the probability of acquiring a featured item is 3%. Host can further boost the percentage with Justice Points. Would you like to do that?]
Roy frowned, pondering. "What else can Justice Points be used for?"
[Justice Points are the universal currency of the Policing System, used for upgrading territory tiers, equipping structures, using the shop function, and upgrading and enhancing your subordinates…]
Wait, can't I purchase more gacha tokens with Justice Points? Roy asked.
[No. Items such as recruitment vouchers and gacha tokens can only be earned through quests, not bought.]
[The System is a Cosmic Policing System. Host is meant to be enforcing justice, not becoming a gambling addict. Such a feature is unique to the Heaven Flipping Gambling System alone.]
Roy's eyes went wide as it dawned on him. Wait… other Lords and Hunters have a system?
[No, Host. Not all Hunters have a system, but all Lords have a unique system according to their selected Orders. Most Hunters can only acquire subsidiary systems from their Lords… but there are a few unique cases that have systems of their own.]
He nodded in comprehension. It seemed his case wasn't so special after all.
Then he made a choice.
"Burn gacha tokens. Do not upgrade the probability."
He felt this was best — even if he upgraded the probability, there was no guarantee he would get the epic weapon. Besides, with the incoming beast horde, he had to purchase necessary tools to enhance his survival rate.
[Beginning random pull…]
Suddenly, his vision spun as five virtual metal boxes landed within sight.
A screen flickered:
[Tap to unlock…]
Without waiting any longer, he tapped the first. The box immediately started rattling intensely as it shone with a yellowish hue. Then its lid burst open, spilling its contents.
[Congratulations! Host has acquired Regular Item: Flash Grenade]
The next followed suit, erupting with the same cadence, only this time in blue.
[Congratulations! Host has acquired Rare Item: Thorned Grenade]
[Congratulations! Host has acquired Regular Item: Rejuvenating Coffee Vending Machine]
[Congratulations! Host has acquired Regular Item: Replenishing Donut Box]
And just when he thought the last spin would continue this streak, something happened. Unlike the others, this rattling box convulsed more intensely before bursting into a blinding violet hue.
A soaring dragon suddenly burst out of the box, shattering it as it roared across the sky, before diving back down and fading — leaving a glistening, crystallic crimson assault rifle before him.
[Congratulations!!! Host has acquired Featured Item: Epic M116 Crystal Crimson Drake!]
A glistening violet notification hovered in his view.
"Holy shit!"
