The United States of America such a dream to be here, Right..?
Well it was her first time actually out and god it felt amazing to be here the land of the free, where all your dreams come true. She had her first audition here at 3PM sharp, she was used to acting it wasn't the first time she acted once or twice okay maybe more than that in France, her hometown; and it went well it wasn't main role level but good enough to be considered an actress; A lot say her acting's great and she's proud of it I mean it's a huge compliment for someone who started 2 years ago at 16,
"Nihel Laurent "a woman spoke up
"Yes, yes that's me '' she replied while getting up from her chair
The women continued " Good follow me " as they started walking , she noticed that she was really pretty with long, curly red hair, had a little accent in her voice, that made the phrases sound really poetic, beautiful big brown eyes and very sexy glasses ; can we even describe glasses as sexy ..? Anyways. The women stopped and started speaking again "please. stay here you're next in life for the audition "
"Thanks Miss"
The next thing she hears is someone yelling next that indicates that it's her turn . deep breaths , okay and she's in as another leaves . She notices the 3 people sitting looking at her judging her, she assumed they were the casting director, an assistant, and the director.
One of them starts speaking up "Name, age and who are you auditioning for? "
She replied "I'm Nihel Laurent, 18 and I'm auditioning for the role of Eleanor "
They nod; the casting director gestures to a chair near a small camera set-up. And things went the usual way
She opens the script and reads the sides. The lines feel alive in her mouth, but she's actually pretty aware of their eyes on her, the subtle nods and frowns; it's a good thing that they don't whisper in front of her she thought I mean she was hoping they weren't, she was to absorbed by the moment. And then he asks for another take, this time "angrier" then "softer," and she adjusts her tone, her posture and keeps going her pulse racing miles an hour every minute , shit she shouldn't be so stressed if this was gonna be her job till the end of time, Deep breaths. She was clearly feeling the tension in her shoulders, the way her stomach flips with every word.
And she finishes her audition, she didn't know what was this feeling but it was there, as she closes the script and smiles politely, thanking them: "Thank you for your time."
Walking out, she exhaled like she'd been holding her breath for hours, heart pounding, palms sweaty. Oh my god… I did it. Again. Ugh. Why was she still acting like it was the first time? She sounded like a fucking idiot… but… Ahhhh!!!
2 weeks later
The sun pierced through her apartment windows, late morning light filling the room. Music played softly in the background, lyrics drifting out:
"Uh-huh, I'm through / With all these hyper mega bummer boys like you / Oh, yeah, I need / A super graphic ultra modern girl like me…"
The studio was small, but just enough for her—and for dancing horribly around when no one was watching. The building itself looked a little run-down from the outside, which explained the lower rent. Still, she liked to pretend it had some charm… though maybe she was romanticizing it a little too much.
Inside, the walls were plain white, slightly worn but nothing too noticeable. The flooring was a basic white that wasn't exactly ideal—it made dust and dirt stand out too easily. A rug that didn't quite match tried to cover the floor, though she hadn't really had another option. A small brown couch sat against the wall, surrounded by a few plants and modest decorations that gave the space a bit of life.
Not far from the couch stood her neatly made bed, and across from it a tiny kitchenette with mismatched cabinets and an old stove that hummed faintly when it was on. Despite all its flaws, the place felt warm and inviting—exactly why she chose it. Well, That and the price.
Her phone started ringing which stopped the music , she grabbed her phone and answered the unknown number "Hello..?"
A familiar voice started speaking "Ah yes miss Laurent ? , hello I'm sorry to disturb , it's about your audition "
Nihel responded "um sure what about it ?" trying to hide the excitement in her voice.
The women continued "You've been called for chemistry reading Thursday at 2PM ."
She squealed "what really? That's..That's amazing, thank you I'll be there."
The women started speaking again "great we'll send you the script later this afternoon on your e-Mail"
A few min later the email was sent…
