Chapter 1 - The creator and creations

A young man looked out of the window when his sister knocked on the door. "Come in, Yasmin," he replied. A girl of six or seven years slowly opened the door, jumped onto his bed, and curled under the blanket. He slowly lay down and wrapped her in his arms. "Not feeling sleepy, huh?" he asked, and she nodded.

"Brother, do you have to go?" she asked innocently.

"Yes," he replied and paused for a few moments before letting out a big sigh.

"Why do you have to go?" she asked again.

"Instead, let me tell you a story," he said to lighten the mood. Her eyes lit up with joy, as her brother was the best storyteller, even though he was leaving soon. She knew fighting or crying wouldn't stop him, and the best thing to do is enjoy every bit of time with him. So he began.

This story takes place long before humans were born from apes, even before the meteor that wiped out all the dinosaurs, before Earth was a ball of lava, and even before the Big Bang. There was a god named Thalora, the great father. He is the light at the center of the universe, the ultimate power, the source of all our light and life. Thalora was so lonely that he created a family that would love him and that he could love in return.

He created two children with specific powers: Lakmero, the goddess of light, and Kamthera, the god of darkness. They, in turn, created their own offspring: Lokesh, the god of wrath; Creota, the goddess of creation; Omera, the goddess of love; Hemato, the god of destruction; Geloma, the goddess of beauty; Hagotta, the god of peace; Nathima, the goddess of hate, and many others. Of all the gods and goddesses, Creota was the great father's favorite, as she was almost a creator like him.

The gods and goddesses wanted more; they wanted people to fear and worship them. So the great father gave all the existing gods and goddesses a chance. He gave them mud balls, which he called "Plano," or what we call planets. Every god and goddess could create life on these planets and shape the planet's beauty.

Creota created Draloogan, our Earth. She loved dragons so much that, in the beginning, our planet was full of them. The land was ruled by one beautiful white dragon with crystals on its head like a crown and more crystals all down its back to its tail. She called this dragon The Tayiti. Back then, humans didn't exist, only dragons.

Everything was smooth and peaceful until Kamthera became greedy. He wanted more; he wanted all the planets to be his. He wanted everything and everyone to bow to him. At first, all of his children, like Lokesh, Hemato, and Nathima, stood with him, but when they realized his true intentions—when they realized that he would kill all of their friends and lovers—they backed off. But it was too late. Kamthera had already killed the god of wisdom, the goddess of plasma, and a few others. He was too strong.

Even when everyone else was afraid, Creota was not afraid at all. She came forward with ideas and ways to defend the others, and she did succeed, but at the cost of her life. Lokesh couldn't bear the loss of his lover. She was his light, his joy, but now she is gone. Not only Lokesh but the great father also mourned her loss. So he preserved her soul and her heart on her planet. Her heart was protected inside a tree that looked like a weeping willow but had rainbow leaves. Her soul, well, it became the soul of the planet. She lived on, as the planet; she was the planet. The Tayiti was responsible for protecting the planet at all costs and also her heart that lay in the tree, which was later called the Mother Plant and lies at the center of an ocean on a hidden island.
