Chapter 88 - Chapter 88: Card Playing Time! Linnett's Music

Finally, Alex said to everyone, "However, I have a small request: before you leave tonight, the three of you should play Landlord with me!"

"Landlord?" The three of them were confused; what was that?

So, Alex began to explain the rules to everyone, which were simple, and they quickly got the hang of it after a few rounds.

Furina felt happy, taking one seat for herself, Alex taking another, and for the remaining seat, Lynette played a few rounds, found it uninteresting, and gave it to Lyney.

But after playing for about half an hour, Alex still felt something was missing. After a few more rounds, Alex looked at Lynette, who was nestled between the siblings, looking at her cards.

Alex gave a thumbs-up. That's right, what was missing was the BGM!

Alex looked at Lynette and said, "Lynette, I have a request~."

"?" Lynette looked over, puzzled.

And so.

Lyney: "Pair of threes."

Lynette: "Ding, ding ding ding, ding ding, ding ding ding ding~~~"

Alex: "Pair of tens."

Lynette: "Ding, ding ding, ding ding, ding ding ding ding ding~~~"

The Landlord, Furina, confidently slapped down two cards: "Pair of Aces!"

"Can't beat it." Lyney shook his head; his hand was too small and scattered this round.

"Can't beat it!" Alex echoed, looking at the pair of twos in his hand and shaking his head repeatedly. Furina's pair of Aces was too strong.

"Haha!" Furina was happy. If no one could beat her, she would win! "Queen."

"Pass." Lyney shook his head again.

"Two!" Alex played a card.

"Hmm. No." Furina realized she wasn't as stable as she thought.

Alex then played a single: "Six!"

"King!" Furina played her biggest card again, a single card was good: "Hehe!" It's stable, stable. If no one wants this, I win directly.

"No." Lyney shook his head again.

"Two!" Alex played another card, a decisive move!

"Ah ah ah!" Furina angrily threw out the pair of threes in her hand. "I'm not playing anymore!"

"Three with one, you don't want it, right? A four, and I'm out." Alex directly threw out his last hand.

Furina thought about it. This round, she lost because Alex didn't want her pair of Aces!

Furina glared at Alex: "You did it on purpose! You're targeting me! Why didn't you want my pair of Aces just now?"

"Can't take it, can't take it!" Alex shook his head, finally glancing at Furina's chest.

"Why can't you take my pair of Aces! You must take my pair of Aces. Let's start over, start over!" Furina said, handing Alex his cards, then taking back her own.

Furina's competitive spirit was aroused!

"Pair of Aces!" Furina played the cards again, her eyes fixed on Alex.

Lyney, holding his scattered small cards, remained silent.

"Uh… I'll take it!" Being stared at by Furina, Alex could only speak, then added, "I like a pair of Aces."

"What good is liking a pair of Aces? Play your pair of twos!" Furina said, taking Alex's pair of twos and throwing them on the table.

Then, no matter whether Alex played three with one first, or a single six or four first, he couldn't beat Furina.

"Yay! I won again!" Furina happily clapped her hands.

Furina watched Lyney shuffle the cards, nodding and beginning to comment, "Hmm, this way of playing cards of yours is indeed interesting."

"It's very suitable for leisure and entertainment, unlike the usual poker games we see. I think it could become popular throughout Teyvat… Mr. Magician Lyney, what do you think?" Furina concluded, looking at Lyney.

"Hmm, I agree! A novel way to play, very interesting!" Lyney also couldn't help but praise.

"Ding ding~" Lynette hummed in agreement.

As dusk fell, the lights in Alex's house came on.

"Goodbye! We're leaving."

Lyney and Lynette, having achieved their goal, waved their hands, carrying the gifts they received, and said goodbye!

"Okay, see you next time, come play with us often!" Alex also waved his hand, saying goodbye!

"Goodbye! The half-day I spent with you was very pleasant. Let's play cards again when we have time." Furina happily narrowed her eyes.

"Definitely next time!" Lyney said, then took Lynette and left.

"This guy!" Alex shook his head. Lyney said 'definitely next time,' which probably meant there wouldn't be a next time.

"Let's rest too." Furina yawned. She had done so many things today and played cards for so long in the afternoon that she was starting to feel tired.

Furina walked up to the second floor, where many newly arranged rooms were located. Furina picked one that caught her eye and began to clean it a little.

Then she lay down on the small bed behind her.

Alex, who had followed her up, was a little puzzled: "Hmm? Isn't Fufu going back to her own home?"

Furina sat up and looked at Alex: "It's too late, and I'm very tired today, having played for so long. I thought it would be better to just rest here at your place."

"Besides, your strawberries will be ripe tomorrow morning. Going back to Palais Mermonia to sleep would be a bit troublesome and delay things." Furina said, looking at Alex: "I, the Divine, trust you and come to your home as a guest. You wouldn't still want to chase me away, would you?"

"How could I? My house is quite big!" Alex said, thinking of leaving: "Oh, if you need to wash up or anything, just go ahead. Everything is on the second floor too. I'll be in the master bedroom on the first floor. If you need anything, find me. I'm going to rest."

"You go rest, I'm more familiar with this place than you are!" After all, this was the house Furina had brought Alex to buy, and she was already very familiar with the arrangement of everything inside.

"Good night." Alex said, starting to close the door to the room Furina had chosen.

Before it closed completely, Furina also said to Alex, "Good night!"

A night raid on Fufu? Or, because Furina came to his house to sleep, he couldn't sleep all night? No such thing! Alex had barely lain down on the bed before he fell into a deep, sweet sleep. It was truly high-quality sleep!

He still had a long way to go, but there was no rush, just as Clorinde had said before, it would come eventually!

On the other hand, Furina, hugging the second pillow, couldn't quite fall asleep.

"Oh my, what was I thinking, wanting to spend the night at his house? I should have just gone back to Palais Mermonia." Furina's mind was a bit overheated.

After a long while, Alex seemed to have gone completely silent? What was he doing?

After tossing and turning in bed for a while longer, Furina still got up and walked downstairs, but he was nowhere to be seen.

She walked to the master bedroom on the first floor and found that his door was not closed at all, allowing her to see the large bed inside.

Then she saw Alex, with his head exposed, covered by a large quilt, eyes closed, snoring, seemingly in a very deep sleep.

"Click." Furina closed the door directly and went back to sleep herself.

What the heck, he was sleeping so soundly... Back in her room on the second floor, Furina, covered by a new quilt emitting a faint, fresh scent, finally closed her eyes and fell into a beautiful sleep.

This day was a rare, happy, and peaceful night for Furina.

Allowing herself to be a little willful, to cast everything aside, and to think of nothing else.

"Hehe, strawberries, big strawberries." Before long, Furina began to mumble in her sleep.

She dreamed of running and playing on super-large strawberries that covered her entire field of vision.
