Lilith's lips curved slightly as she reached out to gently pat the little Joker Bat on her shoulder. The Joker Bat tilted its head, eyes narrowing in delight as it enjoyed her touch.
The Joker Bat had chosen Lilith as its own transformation host, so naturally, Zede wasn't going to play the villain and object. But of course—he still had to draw the lottery. There was no way he could go through this life without drawing.
Besides, he had also forgotten to use the Haiyao Dial he'd gotten earlier. Can't really blame him—compared to Longqi, Longya, or the Second Tier, the Haiyao's presence was just too weak.
Once Zede thought of it, he acted. He got up from Xin's chest, stood to the side, and took out the Time-Space Driver along with two Ridewatches.
"Let's see what you've got for me this time."Zede rotated both Ridewatches in his hands and inserted them into the Driver.
A sharp screech came from the floor-to-ceiling window. From the mirror world, a pink, evil manta ray burst out, transforming into armor that wrapped around Zede's Zi-O base form.
Zede clenched his fists, feeling the armor's power flowing through him—only, the strengthening effect was minor. He had already expected this, so he wasn't disappointed.Instead, he reached into his dimensional space to pull out the prize from his latest draw.
With a clatter, a pile of random items fell out—coins, lighters, candles, cards, and so on.
"Fortune-telling set? I can't even read fortunes."
He muttered in exasperation, piling everything up on the table. Then he casually lit a candle, turned off the living room lights, and lay back down on Xin's chest again.
Zede took out a blank Ridewatch and handed it to Lilith."Lilith, the Joker Bat is yours now—but you still need to activate this watch."
Lilith set down her slice of cake, took the Ridewatch carefully, and examined it in her palm.
She looked up at Zede, her voice soft."Will my current condition affect the activation result?"
During the past three days, Zede had crammed all the knowledge about Ridewatches and the Kamen Rider system into her.Lilith was worried she might not get something good—and even more worried about disappointing Zede.
Zede's hand gently slid along her smooth white thigh."Activating a Ridewatch is pure luck—don't stress over it. Anyway, there's no way your luck's worse than mine."
"Mhm."
Lilith pressed her lips together and nodded slightly, then pressed the activation button.Blue light flared through the dimly lit room, instantly drawing everyone's attention.
Even Skye stopped typing on her keyboard and turned to look, curious to see what kind of Ridewatch this "little sister" had activated.
Zede took the watch from Lilith's hand and studied it closely—A silver base, blue dial, and a set of vertical engravings in the middle—Kamen Rider Knight.
Zede pondered for a long while, trying to find what similarities Lilith might share with Akiyama Ren.But no matter how he thought about it, he couldn't find a single thing they had in common.
With no clue, Zede started playing idly with the lighter. Click, click. The flame flickered to life, then went out.
When it flared up for the third time, Zede didn't let go of the button. He stared intently at the swaying flame.
He slowly moved the lighter until it aligned with the candle flame—the two fires merged, and his gaze sharpened.
A spark of inspiration flashed through his mind.He suddenly remembered the words exchanged between two survivors amid the flames:
"I absolutely cannot die. If you take another life… you'll never be able to go back."
"Redemption… is it?"
In that moment, Zede seemed to understand why Lilith had been able to activate the Knight Ridewatch. But then he realized—wait a second, what had he just done?
"Wait, what the hell? Did I just… awaken psychic powers?" Zede blinked, utterly confused.
The Haiyao Contract Holder, Tezuka's psychic ability—sure, it sounded cool, but in truth, it wasn't very useful to him. Only certain situations would ever call for it.
Really, it was one of those things that was too useless to keep, too rare to throw away.
Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Zede grabbed the Knight Ridewatch and the Joker Bat, ready to draw again.
After transforming into Kamen Rider Knight Armor, he eagerly pulled out the next prize.
A black trench coat!
"Damn~"
It might not be practical, but it looked amazing—a hundred, no, a thousand times cooler than Nick Fury's coat.
Quite satisfied, Zede stored the coat away.Beside him, the Joker Bat obediently reverted into a Ridewatch.
"One last spin! Come on, European Emperor luck!"
A green light spread across the entire room.Behind Zede, the shadow of a black bat unfurled its wings. When the wings folded in and opened again, Zede was clad in Dark Kiva Armor.
"Perish!" he shouted unconsciously—the signature catchphrase of the Green-Hat King himself.
Zede turned his head and saw the three women in the room staring at him.He quickly covered his mouth. "Ahem—definitely shouldn't say that out loud."
He coughed twice to play it off, then opened his dimensional space again.Reaching inside, his hand seemed to grasp something solid—but when he pulled it out, there was nothing.
Skye frowned at the frozen Zede."What happened? Why didn't you take it out?"
Xin and Lilith both looked at him in confusion as well.
Taking a deep breath, Zede canceled his transformation."God-tier draw… but a little too godly!"
His luck had exploded—he'd drawn the Maohken, the Demon Emperor Sword, and not just any version—the one without the limiter.
This was a killing sword so dangerous that even the Green-Hat King at his prime dared not wield it lightly, for fear its murderous aura would consume his mind.
Zede obviously couldn't control such a weapon now.Just touching the hilt, he could feel an endless bloodlust clawing at his thoughts.
He had no choice but to seal it away inside his dimensional space.Only when his strength reached a higher level could he consider wielding it.
"Better to have it than not," he told himself, comforting his mind.
Then he stopped thinking about it, lay back down again, and returned to his dessert.
The late-night American TV show was getting really exciting—Zede was watching intently when Skye suddenly switched the channel.
"Hey! What gives? It was just getting good!" Zede looked baffled.
Skye's fingers flew across her keyboard as she synced the TV signal."That 'hammer' you mentioned—it's here."
Zede's lazy demeanor vanished. His eyes sharpened instantly."Asgard, huh? Another gold mine! Let's go."
Meanwhile,Dr. Erik Selvig, Jane Foster, and Darcy Lewis were racing across the New Mexico highway, chasing a strange atmospheric anomaly.
Howling winds roared across the plains, the storm so loud that the three had to shout to hear each other.
"Faster, Darcy! Step on it! We're losing it!" Jane shouted, clutching her instruments tightly.
Darcy, temper flaring, slammed the gas pedal to the floor."This old junk heap's already going max speed! Maybe you should buy a new one!"
"There's—someone! There's a person in the storm's center!" Jane yelled, eyes wide as she stared at the readings.
Darcy craned her neck to look. "Oh my god, you're right—it's really a person!"
Dr. Erik wanted to look too, but the shaking car made his head spin.Clutching the handlebar to keep from toppling over, he groaned, "Slow down, you two! I'm gonna—ugh—"
He didn't finish the sentence before vomiting.
"Ugh, gross!"
"Oh no—so disgusting!"
"Darcy! Eyes on the road! Don't—"
BAM!
Darcy slammed on the brakes, staring wide-eyed at Jane."Jane, I think I… hit someone."
"Then get out and help!" Jane said, jumping out of the car first.
The storm still raged as she struggled through the wind, searching for whoever they'd just hit.Darcy and Erik soon joined the search.
"Found him!" Jane shouted. "Bring the first-aid kit!"
By the time Darcy and Erik arrived, the man they'd hit was already getting to his feet.
Darcy's eyes went wide—tall, broad-shouldered, radiating sheer masculine power."What a waste," she muttered. "Guess he doesn't need CPR after all."
Jane stepped closer, asking carefully,"How are you feeling? Do you need to go to a hospital?"
But the blond man ignored her completely. He simply looked up at the sky and shouted:
"I know you can hear me, Heimdall! Open the Bifrost, now!"
To the three of them, he looked completely insane.
Darcy couldn't help but remark, "Great body, shame about the brain."
When no response came, the blond man grew increasingly frustrated, pointing at them furiously."Where is this? Alfheim? Nornheim?"
Darcy, sensing danger, whipped out her pink taser."New Mexico," she said flatly.
"You dare point such a tiny weapon at the mighty Thor Odinson?"
Thor spread his arms arrogantly—and was promptly zapped to the ground, twitching and unconscious.
When Thor woke up, he was lying on a hospital bed.The moment he saw the doctor prepping to draw his blood, he roared:
"How dare you attack the son of Odin! None of you can hope to—uh…"
He didn't get to finish before the guards arrived.Despite his weakened state, he floored every security guard that rushed in—looking genuinely invincible—until one tranquilizer needle brought him down.
The next time Thor woke, he was strapped tightly to a hospital bed in a private ward.
He sneered."These flimsy bindings think they can hold Thor, God of Thunder?"
Even without divine power, his physique still far surpassed any human's.He tore free from the restraints and slipped out of the hospital.
With no idea where he was, Thor wandered aimlessly into the parking lot—
BANG!
Jane, backing up while chatting with Darcy, hadn't noticed him behind the car.
"Oh no! I swear that wasn't on purpose!" Jane gasped, covering her mouth.
Darcy rolled her eyes."Technically, this is the second time. The first time was your fault too—you distracted me. Legally, this one's on you."
"Enough! Help me get him in the car—we need him for the research!" Jane was already dragging Thor by the arm.
"Yeah, yeah…" Darcy sighed.
From a distance, Zede and the others, watching everything through the Falcon Watch, were dumbfounded.
Skye pointed at Thor."That's… a god? Are we sure your definition of 'god' matches mine?"
Zede knew Thor was dumb, but not this dumb. This iron-headed idiot—the Ridewatch he'd activate was bound to be another iron-headed idiot's.
At that thought, Zede could only sigh in exasperation.
