Chapter 20 - Blood

Inside a room.

Next to the dungeon entrance.

Two house servants were guarding the dungeon entrance, chatting casually.

Clang.

Faint sounds emanated from deep within the dungeon.

"What's that sound?"

One servant looked towards the dungeon entrance, a hint of surprise in his eyes.

"Maybe Simon Harper is hitting the iron bars," the other servant said indifferently.

They all knew Simon Harper, the son of Thomas Harper, whose martial arts were mediocre, not even having reached the Inner Breath level. What problem could he possibly cause now?

"No, let's go check, lest something happens and the Master punishes us."

The servant stood up, taking out a key to open the dungeon door.

The other servant, seeing this, shook his head slightly.

Even if something happened to Simon, what then? He was going to die soon anyway, so even if something went wrong, they wouldn't be punished.

'It is said that the Family Head has found Thomas Harper's hiding place and has already led people there.'

'A mere Major Achievement of Inner Breath dares to betray the clan; he truly doesn't know what's coming to him.'

Thinking of the recent information circulating in the Harper Family, the servant sneered softly.

Suddenly, just as the other servant was about to open the dungeon door, the door itself let out a thunderous 'boom'.

The dungeon door, made of fine iron, seemed to have been struck by a heavy blow, detaching violently from the wall and, with a whistling sound, slammed hard into the servant who was trying to open it.

Bang!

The rapidly flying door, carrying the servant with it, crashed heavily into the wall of the room, causing the entire room to tremble slightly.

On the wall, with the fine iron door as the center, cracks appeared, and the wall itself became fractured.

Behind the fine iron door, blood flowed like water down the wall.

As for the servant caught between the dungeon door and the wall, he was lifeless the moment of impact.

The incident happened so quickly and suddenly that the servant sitting by the dungeon entrance, who witnessed the scene, hadn't even reacted yet, a slight smile still lingering on his lips.

Thump-thump.

Faint footsteps came from the dungeon entrance.

The servant instinctively turned his head to look.

"Simon Harper?"

"It's you." Simon glanced at the servant, who seemed to have lost his soul, and casually struck him down with a blade.

When his predecessor was escorted into the cell, this servant had been very rude to him. Since that was the case, Simon would avenge his predecessor.

After casually scanning the room, Simon walked out.

"Finally out!"

Looking at the familiar scenery of the Harper Family, Simon looked up at the sky, feeling his body slightly warm from the sunlight, and took a deep breath.

What had he spent nearly thirty years in the simulated world for? Wasn't it so he could be safe and sound in the real world?

Now he was finally out, and he even had the strength to suppress the entire Harper Family!

"Harper Family!"

A thought flashed, and Simon looked at the familiar surroundings, then took steps towards the location of the Family Head, William Harper.

"This is? Isn't this Young Master Simon Harper?"

"How could he be here?"

"Didn't the Family Head lock him in the dungeon?"

Along the way, servants and maids, seeing Simon holding a long blade, all looked astonished, then quickly dodged and hid.

The news of Simon escaping the dungeon also spread.

Simon ignored these maids and servants, his expression indifferent.

He was just thinking of letting these people spread the news of his escape from the dungeon.

Because in this way, once others knew this news, they would actively come to him, saving him the trouble of finding them one by one.

Edward Harper's home.

"You said Simon Harper escaped the dungeon, and is now holding a long blade and heading towards the Family Head's room?"

Listening to the servant's words, Edward Harper was a little surprised.

'Thomas Harper has been found by the Family Head, so how did Simon escape? Is there someone else helping him?'

A thought flashed, and hearing the servant's affirmative reply, Edward Harper nodded faintly, then dismissed the servant.

'Although I don't know what's going on, Simon, you are seeking your own death.'

Although he didn't know how Simon escaped, and there were still some details he hadn't figured out, Edward Harper didn't care.

He was Simon's second uncle, so he naturally knew very well what kind of person Simon was.

'It seems he's been blinded by anger. Since you've already escaped the dungeon, you should know you shouldn't continue to appear in the Harper Family.'

Standing up from his chair, Edward Harper clenched his fists, a cold sneer on his face.

Another courtyard.

"Simon, he escaped? And he's heading towards my father's courtyard?"

Clara Harper's expression tightened.

"Yes, and Young Master Simon is also holding a long blade; he looks like he wants to—"

The maid replied.

"No, before my father gets back, I must make Simon quickly escape the Harper Family."

Thinking of her father's sudden departure today, Clara Harper gritted her teeth, then quickly walked out of the courtyard.

She had vaguely heard rumors that Simon's father, Thomas Harper's hiding place had been found, and her father's sudden departure today was for this matter.

'I hope I can get Simon to leave before the several clan elders and uncles arrive.'

Clara Harper hurried, silently praying in her heart.

The Harper Family occupied a vast area; after all, it was one of the top families in the entire Fairhaven City. Simon walked for quite a while before gradually reaching William Harper's courtyard.

However, at this moment, the area outside William Harper's courtyard was already filled with people.

Those who knew that Simon was heading towards the Family Head's room with a blade had all rushed over by now.

Among them were Simon's uncles, as well as some siblings and various house servants.

"Simon, tell me, who rescued you?"

Edward Harper stepped out, standing in front of Simon, his voice low.

"Who rescued me? Of course, I walked out myself," Simon said faintly, looking at Edward Harper.

"With your martial arts cultivation, which hasn't even broken through to the Inner Breath Realm, you still say you walked out yourself?!"

Edward Harper's face darkened: "Since you're unwilling to say, then don't blame your second uncle for being ruthless."

Around the corner, Clara Harper rushed over, and seeing this scene, her heart instantly tightened.

Edward Harper's martial arts cultivation had already reached the Great Accomplishment of Inner Breath Realm, and in terms of cultivation alone, he was only second to her father.

Now that Edward Harper was going to attack Simon, Simon would be completely defenseless.

'I didn't expect that even with my hurried rush, I was still a step late.'

Looking at Simon, Clara Harper bit her lip tightly, feeling utterly powerless in her heart.

If Edward Harper and the others hadn't arrived yet, she might have been able to protect Simon and help him escape, but now she was too late; there was no chance.

Just as Clara Harper was feeling down, a faint blood-red light slowly rose from Simon's blade, entering her eyes.

"What?"

Looking at the blade light slowly rising from the long blade in Simon's hand, and then seeing Edward Harper, who was enveloped by the blade light and subsequently had flesh and blood flying, Clara Harper instinctively stopped in her tracks.
