Chapter 5 - Invitation to the Night

The next morning, Gun Ha walked toward Shinan High.

Many students who had seen or heard about what happened to Chulwoo the previous day immediately moved out of his way. Whispers followed him everywhere, hushed voices carrying fear and awe.

"That's the guy who knocked out Chulwoo with one punch…"

"I heard he didn't even flinch when Chulwoo hit him…"

"Those demon eyes… are they real?"

Gun didn't bother with them. He dismissed the whispers as meaningless noise and walked straight to his classroom.

Lunchtime

In the afternoon, Gun sat on a bench under the tree, calmly reading a book during lunch. The world was quiet until a shadow fell in front of him.

A voice spoke.

"Are you… Gun Ha?"

Gun lifted his head.

The boy standing before him had dyed blonde hair and sharp black eyes. An earring hung from his ear, and a vape pen sat casually between his fingers. He wore the standard school uniform, though loose and carefree.

Gun's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Do I know you?"

The boy smirked.

"No. But let me introduce myself. My name is Jaemin Shin. And you are Gun Ha, right?"

Gun's answer was flat.

"Yeah."

Jaemin extended a hand.

"Nice to meet you."

Gun stared at it for a second before finally lifting his hand to shake.

"Yeah."

"Great," Jaemin said with a grin. "You know, I saw your fight yesterday with Chulwoo. From the corridor window. That was unbelievable—how you took Chulwoo's punch straight in the face and didn't even move an inch.

Mind you, Chulwoo might not be the strongest in this school, but he's not weak either. Enduring his punch and then sending him flying into the wall… that was insane."

Gun closed his book slowly and replied flatly,

"…What do you want?"

Jaemin paused, then smiled knowingly. Yesterday had proved it—Gun wasn't just strong. He was terrifying. Stronger than Chulwoo, stronger than even Manchoon.

If Jaemin could stand by his side, nobody in this school—or outside it—would dare to touch him.

So he leaned in slightly, lowering his voice.

"Tonight, I'm hosting a drinking party in the karaoke club next door. High school girls from across town will be there. Do you wanna come?"

Gun considered for a moment, then nodded.

"Fine."

"Perfect." Jaemin's grin widened. "See you tonight at the club."

Without waiting for a reply, he left. Gun reopened his book and went back to reading.

Nightfall – Karaoke Club

The neon signs of the karaoke club glowed as night fell.

Gun arrived early, dressed sharply—

a cream Gucci t-shirt with sleeves rolled high enough to reveal the intricate tattoos along his forearms, white Brioni formal pants held with a Louis Vuitton belt, and dark brown Gucci loafers. His full-rimmed glasses gleamed under the street lights, casting a sharp, mature aura around him.

"Hey!" a familiar voice called.

Jaemin approached with a grin, hands shoved into his pockets.

"Looks like you came early."

Gun adjusted his glasses slightly.

"The earlier, the better."

"Yeah, I agree," Jaemin nodded.

Gun's eyes shifted past him. Three girls had just arrived, their laughter ringing down the street.

"Oh, they're here," Jaemin said, waving his hand.

"Hey, girls! Over here!"

The three walked over. One, with long black hair, smirked playfully.

"You're early this time, Jaemin."

He laughed.

"Can't keep my new friend waiting." He gestured toward Gun.

All three of them looked at him. Their eyes scanned his tall, lean-yet-muscular frame, his tattoos, the confidence that radiated from him. But what drew their attention most was the way he wore glasses at night. Instead of looking foolish, it gave him a dangerous, mature aura—wild and untamed.

"This is Gun Ha," Jaemin said proudly. "My new friend. Doesn't talk much."

The black-haired girl smiled politely.

"Hello, Gun."

"Yeah," Gun replied curtly.

"Alright," Jaemin clapped his hands once. "Let's go inside. The party's waiting."

Together, the group stepped through the glowing doors of the karaoke club.
