The wind was calm now. The chaos from the earlier battle had faded into silence. Broken mountains and smoldering craters were all that remained of the Frieza Force.
Trunks sheathed his black sword and walked toward the group. His aura had long faded, but the pressure he carried lingered, heavy, commanding, and strangely peaceful.
The Z Fighters stood together, bruised but alert. Piccolo's eyes narrowed the moment Trunks approached. Vegeta stood rigid, arms crossed, still wearing his now half-torn pink shirt. Gohan watched curiously from behind him, wide-eyed.
Trunks stopped a few meters away and raised a hand slightly. "Relax. I'm not here to fight you guys."
The tension eased, but only a little.
Krillin tilted his head. "So you're a Saiyan too?"
"Yeah, " Trunks replied calmly. "From the future."
That caught everyone off guard. Even Vegeta straightened a little, his usual scowl faltering.
"The future?" Tien echoed. "What the hell do you mean by that?"
Trunks smiled faintly, rubbing the back of his neck. "Exactly what it sounds like. I'm not from this time. My timeline's different. I came here to stop something bad from happening."
Bulma, who had been watching quietly, finally spoke up. Her sharp blue eyes caught the Capsule Corp logo on the Time Machine behind him. "Hold on that's my company's logo! You said you came from the future, right? Are you saying I, Capsule Corp, built that machine?"
Trunks nodded, looking at her warmly but avoiding her gaze too long. "Yeah. You built it. You. well, future you, helped me come here."
Bulma blinked. "Huh. Sounds like me," she muttered, half amused, half proud.
grinning with a smile on her face.
Trunks smiled a little. She's exactly the same.even now.
The others crowded closer, curiosity overcoming caution. Gohan stepped forward, a glimmer of recognition in his eyes. "Wait. are you saying there's something coming? Another threat?"
Trunks' expression hardened. "Two, actually. Androids. Numbers Seventeen and Eighteen. In my timeline, they killed almost everyone Piccolo, Tien, Krillin. even you, Vegeta."
The group fell silent. Even the wind seemed to stop.
Gohan's stomach sank. "That's terrible."
Trunks nodded slowly. "Yeah. And it's not just them." His eyes darkened. "There's another one. something worse. A creature called Cell. He's artificial too, made from your DNA, Goku's, Piccolos, Vegeta and Freiza. He hunts the androids to absorb them and become perfect."
Krillin's face turned pale. "Perfect? Great. That's not terrifying at all."
Trunks gave a faint, humorless laugh. "Trust me, You just have to kill him before he is perfect, even then he is pretty strong."
Piccolo folded his arms, with his cloak fluttering due to the wind, "And you came here to stop that from happening."
"Yeah," Trunks said, looking down briefly. "But, I think this might be a different timeline not the past. This isn't the same past I came from. It's another timeline. One where things even when changed do not affect my future.
There was a pause. The air felt heavier now, not from fear, but from quiet understanding.
Piccolo's expression softened. "Even if that's true, you still helped us today. You changed something. That's enough."
Gohan nodded. "Yeah. you saved lives, Mister. That counts."
Trunks smiled faintly, the tension in his chest easing. "Thanks. That means a lot."
He looked toward the horizon suddenly, his tone shifting. "By the way, Goku's coming back soon."
Everyone turned. "Goku?"
Trunks nodded. "Yeah. His energy's already entering the atmosphere. He'll land over there." He pointed toward a grassy ridge near the ocean.
Minutes later, a bright flash of light appeared in the sky.
The pod descended fast, flames trailing behind it, before landing with a loud thud. The door hissed open and Goku stepped out, wearing strange orange and blue armor and a big grin.
"Hey, guys! Miss me?"
Vegeta snorted. "What the hell are you wearing, Kakarot? You look like a lost space janitor."
Goku laughed. "These? Yardrat clothes. Pretty comfy, actually." He tapped his chest. "I learned a cool trick from them too."
He disappeared.
Everyone froze. Then he reappeared a few feet behind Krillin, smiling.
"Ta-da! Instant Transmission!"
Vegeta's jaw clenched. "You gotten stronger again ?!"
Goku shrugged innocently. "Guess so."
Before the tension could grow, Goku's attention shifted to Trunks. He grinned, eyes gleaming with curiosity. "Hey, you're strong. Really strong. Wanna spar?"
Trunks smirked. "Thought you'd never ask."
Both powered up almost simultaneously. Goku's aura burst into gold, the earth cracking under his feet as he transformed into a Super Saiyan.
Trunks followed, his transformation was quieter, smoother. No wasted motion. No wild flares of energy. Just pure, steady power.
Piccolo's eyes widened. "His ki it's contained. No leaks."
Goku felt it too. He grinned, rubbing his nose. "Wow. You're good. Your form's cleaner than mine."
"Maybe that's the next step," Goku said lightly.
Vegeta scoffed, crossing his arms. "Hmph. Show-offs."
But inside he was burning with jealousy, he wanted to be a super saiyan badly too.
The two warriors locked eyes. Trunks lifted a hand to his temple. "Let's go somewhere else. Wouldn't wanna blow up your planet on accident."
Before anyone could respond, he vanished.
Goku blinked, then laughed. "Wait, he knows Instant Transmission too?!"
A moment later, Trunks's voice echoed faintly through the air. "Come on, Goku. I'll show you a better view."
Goku chuckled and placed two fingers to his forehead. "Heh. Alright, kid. Let's go."
And in a flash of light, both vanished, heading for a quiet, empty planet somewhere far from Earth.
The others stood in silence.
Vegeta's eye twitched. "First Kakarot, now this brat"
Bulma grinned. "Oh, lighten up, Vegeta. You'll get your turn."
"Don't patronize me, woman!"
The argument faded into the wind as the stars above shimmered faintly, two golden lights streaking across the void.
